That *is* an unusual place to make out with your sweetheart. The neighbors could see everything!

/Kids nowadays. When I was a youngster, we "parked" in scenic places on little-used roads, not in front of the entire neighborhood.

If you park on my roof you won't need a ladder.

"There was a mechanical issue with the car."

Yeah! These modern cars just won't stop on their own when the driver stomps on the accelerator and not the brake.

I like the fact that TFA actually includes a pic which makes it clear how the car ended up where it did.

That was my thought, I wonder if it is because of earthquake building codes.

It wasn't me. And it beats me how he did it - I just can't work out what trajectory would take the Audi into that position and leave the other rich bastard cars relatively unscathed.

It looks like most of the weight is bearing on the outer wall of the house.

Not really versed on earthquake codes, unsure what they mean for roof loading. It surprises my that anything short of a 2x8/2x10  stick framed roof would survive the initial impact, let alone the loading. To me, that structure looks from the outside to be either a pre-fab truss or an older 2x4/2x6 stick framed roof.

Very impressive to say the least.

Correction...Enlarging the image shows a bit of the rafter rake, looks to be an older 2x6/2x8 stick frame.

That was my thinking, I figure my roof would at the very least would have shifted off of the structure due to the initial impact, which is why I wondered about earthquake building codes.

Look closer, they're not unscathed. The BMW was the ramp (its front side is distorted) and roof of the wagon is bent where the TT got more lift.

There was probably something next to the BMW that helped get the TT up high enough to not just crash into it and stop.

From the comments:

In the picture it looks like the GPS navigation app system is out of line. It is clear that caused the drift to the right because there is no skid or brake marks. This can happen when the system is not in sync with the eyes and hand control system.

I know that whenever my GPS display is rotated a few degrees, I end up driving right into a house.
