The Devils' website titled the recap "Mark of the Best".  Nice.

I would've preferred Number of the Best, but to each their own.

He should totally announce his retirement effective immediately.

Nah, people are still saying Patrick Roy is better. I think he should capture at least one more Stanley Cup and then retire to silence the naysayers (but only if he feels he can't do the same great job anymore that he always has done for New Jersey).

First a greenlight about his 3rd career goal, now this.  Care to go for the Martin Brodeur hat-trick, er, trifecta?

I still say Roy is the better of the two. They went head to head, Roy won. That's the kicker for me at least.

No mere coincidence that if you add the number of wins 6+6+6=18,  1+8=9   9+3  (number of career goals) = 12  then 12 + 30 (his jersey #) = 42

/we're through the f*cking looking glass here folks

Heh, at a get together last night we dropped that question on Siri.  When 42 came up there a whole lot of nerd laughter.

Brodeur will never win another cup - too much bad karma from having an affair with your sister-in-law and eventually marrying her.

I don't know, he did win his third cup while he was serving his now ex-wife the divorce papers in 2003 during the playoffs. Plus Karma hasn't stopped him since then from getting the most wins, shutouts, minutes played, and all the other records he has or may break in the future.  He was an idiot for doing that, but somehow he's still able to play well without that on his mind.
