So have we started calling Atlanta "Detroit:Southern Edition" yet?

2013-03-23 03:56:07 PM
Interesting...

I was in Atlanta for work this week and I took the bus trying to get to the train station next to the scene of this at around 3:00 (about 30 minutes after the accident).

First it just looked like a big accident, but then a cop got on our bus, looked around at everyone for a second and then got off the bus.

What do you expect with that zombie outbreak that's swept though there? It's only a matter of time before some people in a secure town and some folks in a large public building start shooting at each other.

Just relax, the police will run the concealed carry paperwork, and the owners of those legal firearms will be jailed post haste.

Thanks to controls already in place, authorities will be able to identify the vehicle's owner and asses his involvement or lack thereof.  Whodathunk.

Correct, that is Midtown. For the record, I live downtown about a block north of the Hyatt and I can assure you there is no safer place in Fulton County. Lived in Buckhead about two blocks from Lenox Mall for several years and that area of downtown is every bit as safe or safer than Buckhead. Too many police and ambassadors walking the streets for the riff-raff to mess with.

Spring street and North Avenue on a Friday at 3pm?

The car accident and shooting probably improved traffic congestion in the area.

Lenox Rd. doesn't go anywhere near the airport. Starts around Lenox Mall and goes south until it merges with N. Highland a few blocks east of Piedmont Park. Lenox doesn't even make it through Midtown.

Draw a circle that goes through marietta, Alpharetta, lawrenceville, tucker, Peachtree city and six flags.

Georgia doesn't exist outside of that.

Yeah to be fair my OP could be read as disregarding the greater Atlanta area as well but I've lived up in Roswell and worked for places further North than that.

Thank you CM....Fonda,in an interview; and I believe she was promoting a book or smth..talks about doing girl on girl stuff when she was with Roger Vadim..I always wondered if Bridget Bardot got some of that...But she also talks about Turner in the same interview and how she and Ted had been extremely close with an anchor news lady that betrayed her...And how her and that lady almost came to blows in an CNN underground parking lot.

I live in Midtown and traffic was jacked up on the surface streets.  Normally we let the commuters from OTP toil away in traffic on I-285 and the other interstates, while we intowners happily get where we need to go ITP with little issue.  Yesterday was different.

I've lived here since 87, and have spent time all over the metro area.  The most crime I have personally witnessed, or been a victim of, took place in midtown.
