Principal Clarinet: Surprisingly well done.
Happy Hours: Principal Clarinet: Surprisingly well done.I guess, but farking around with a classic is always dangerous.Even I don't understand most of the actual lyrics despite taking 2 years of Latin in high school. So someone who was apparently very creative and imaginative wrote some English lyrics that fit with the music and handed it out to a bunch of people who had gathered together and they performed it.It takes a lot to impress me these days. I don't care. I'd rather listen to it the way it was meant to be performed.I don't really find it humorous and there's nothing special about it musically. My first introduction to Carmina Burana was the Ray Manzerak album. I loved it, but it wasn't long before I bought a CD by IIRC the Vienna Philharmonic performing it that was much better. The strings were better, the drums were better, the vocals were better and even the piano was better.Sorry Mr. Manzerak. I thank you for introducing me to this music but ummm...it had already been done much better. It's surprisingly hard to find a good version on YouTube. I thought I had but someone coughed about 15 minutes into it and spoiled an otherwise impeccable performance. The lyrics are actually quite interesting and they're easier for me to understand if I read them rather than listen, but they're so much for beautiful to listen to. It's really rock and roll even though there is a huge chorus and a bunch of violins, flutes, french horns, and timpani and other traditional orchestral instruments if it's played properly.
eyeq360: It's actually the song "Fortuna Imperatrix Mundi(O Fortuna)," which is part of the Carmina Burana. The Carmina Burana is a collection of songs.
