Officially, life is the leading cause of death.

So much pseudoscience.  1) Irridate food. 2) Cryptosporidium infections in immunosuppressed people are dangerous, in non-immunosuppressed people, not so much.

But salad is considered one of the products most likely to cause food-related illness - largely because greens are grown directly in the soil

Plants grow in the soil? On the GROUND?? And this stuff is supposed to be good for us???

That's why I always cook my salads to a 165 degree internal temperature.

Hey Britney this isn't my area of science so this is an honest question:
How is irradiation pseudo-science?

/Seems legit to me
//But I deal mostly really  small numbers

*Snork* Reminds of my grandmother, who is 86 years old and suffers from (among other things) dementia. I fixed her a salad for lunch a few months ago and she got upset because it was cold.

Personally, I just pasteurize my salads. It takes a little longer but at least it preserves about .02% of the freshness.

Yeah, those Agrabusinessmen that hire Pedro don't exactly provide sanitary bathroom conditions or the breaks to use them.  So Pedro shiats in the field and doesn't was his hands.  Shocker.

Totally preventable even without zapping the food. Both cost money tho.  If only we haven't been busy destroying the middle class for the past 30+ years.

I have been in enhancing my immune system for years by licking the soles of my shoes clean when I come home every day.

A salad wouldn't touch me.

Yeah, if you have farking blue cheese, full ranch dressing, shreds of full chedder cheese and bacon bits with your salad, of course its almost as bad if not worse then a farking deep fried burger or crap ass done fries at Mcdonalds

It's not that irradiated food is pseudo-science, It's that the public freaks out about it because they hear the word "radiation" and they freak the fark out. to the general public, nuclear fallout and "irradiated food" are practically the same thing.

They say it's just the pre-washed packages that are contaiminated. So the fresher ones grown on the ground safer after you wash them? I heard some pre-made salads were recalled after some place used sewer water; if your salad wasn't crappy enough...

My best diet advice? Ignore all the diet advice.

Eat what you want, when you want, as much as you want and blame no one but yourself if you wind up weighing 400 pounds or dead.
