So, a high-speed Endor speeder roller-coaster ride? A really boring straight ride through the trench of the Death Star? They should at least offer a few booze options....Ep. IV cantina, maybe Ep. II bar on Coruscant...possibly Jabba's pleasure barge?

Like I said a few months back when the sale first happened, though - I bet you will be able to get a 3D printout of yourself frozen in carbonite - the larger the model, the higher the price.

What, you mean after Star Tours?

Do they have the land to expand Disneyland anymore?

I'd bet they'd most likely being doing this at Disney World. There's a good patch of undeveloped land behind the Star Tours attraction at the Studios at Disney world, however it's prime from parking lot expansion, but that could be moved. Also, there's an access road that they would have to build a walk way over keeping star tours as the entry point to the new 'land'.

Yeah, they'd be better off putting it in Disney World. They have more land and it would be a good competition to Harry Potter Land at Universal. And Disney Land already has an Indiana Jones ride as opposed to the cheesy stunt show at Disney World.

I'm sure Disney will do a much better job with Star Wars then Universal did with Harry Potter.

They made Harry Potter Land way too small. They actually had to close it off a few times because it was so crowded. But they did a really good job re-creating the castle/wizard school/whatever.

It's one of the reasons why Walt bought swampland in Florida.  More room.

They may have a little more land to fool around with, but basically they will take a few chunks of attractions that are no longer gathering the crowds. They could actually get rid of whole swaths of Tommorow Land, and I don't think anyone would notice.

That was my point. I went there the year it opened and it was packed. Even the gift shops had hour long lines.

Just demolish Pop Century, Art of Animation and the other crisp resorts and build a Star Wars resort/park. Though that might make Hollywood Studios empty out.

I always thought Nintendo could make a fortune here if they opened a theme park or a franchise like chucky cheese. The pizza could taste like cardboard covered in feces and they would still make a boat load.

Put in Florida and i will be going back with my family the day it opens with cleared off credit cards and piles of cash. My son and I rode Star Tours over and over last fall and we loved it. We ate at the diner across from the place they do the jedi academy show and he loved that show. Just start building it Disney dammit!

Disney badly screwed Tomorrow Land up under Eisner.  It badly needs to be rebuilt.

Walt Disney bought so much land in Florida (enough he considered incorporating his own county) because Disneyland was so quickly hemmed in my cheap motels and crappy tourist traps.  He wanted to keep the competition at arm's length.

I was almost thrown out of the park for running from car to car on that thing when I was a kid. Of course, that wasn't as bad as getting blown in Injun Joe's Cave at Tom Sawyer's Island.

/wonder if they still call it "Injun Joe's"

Disneyland has a large piece of land across the Katella and Harbor intersection.  Small part is used for employee parking. Has been rumored as a third park.

I used to love it when they would let you just stay on. You could take like a 30 minute midday break just riding around on that thing.

Is there a Sonic Screwdriver kiosk at a Disney store in Orlando?  No?

Then STFU.  I have my lightsabers, and I will challenge you to a duel any day, provided we can get my nephews to give them up.

The one at Disneyland could really use some love, though. Space Mountain is good, but the building that used to be The Carousel of Progress is crap, especially since the House of the Future is filled with circa 2007 HP smart TVs showing off Windows Media Center. The Buzz Lightyear ride is pretty fun, but the rest could really be refurbished.

I don't really see any options for Disneyland itself. Besides, I think California Adventure would be a better option if for no other reason than DCA is painful anyways (granted, it's been almost 10 years since the last time I was there). The three options I can see is there's some small support buildings and staging areas in the Southeast corner (just South of the Twilight Zone ride), remove some parking to the west of DCA and build pedestrian tunnels or bridges to cross the road, or buy the motel over in the Southeast corner.

Why build anything new that is Star Wars related in FL? We've all got Avatarland in Animal Kingdom to look forward to. Yawn.

One thing I never understood about Star Tours: why doesn't it ever get updates? It seems like all they'd need to do is shoot some new footage and reprogram the simulator and BAM! you have a brand new ride.

Was that sarcasm?  Because you just named the three best things about Tomorrowland.  Actually....the only good things about Tomorrowland, now that I think of it.

"Star Wars Land" seems prime for Hollywood Studios.  There have been permits filed to change the access roads already, but popular opinion says that may be in anticipated of a WDW "Cars Land" clone.

Star Tours was updated in 2011, and my brother and I went on six times (in three days, burning fast passes). We saw all of the combos, except for the hologram message. We got Admiral Ackbar every single time. That's 1 in 3^6 odds.

AS mentioned above, they did just that recently. They upgraded the ride with new 3D CGI footage, and set it up so that the ride randomly stitches together 2 different openings, 3 different first destinations, 3 different holograms in the middle of the ride talking about your mission for the Alliance, and 3 different endings, so you wind up with 54 possible ride experiences, which really ups the repeat appeal. You have to ride it about 4-5 times minimum to see each option at least once.

They also refurbed the ride area, and they now have some TSA-droids for the line queue. The one running the thermal scanner is voiced by Partrick Warburton, so he is actually pretty funny. It's like a little high-pitched Brock Sampson.

To be fair, the parks were run my morons for a long while. It wasn't until recently that Disney bought Pixar and then made John Lasseter the principal creative advisor to the parks. Before they brought him in, the parks were run by the kind of soulless bean counters that killed Mr. Toad's Wild Ride at WDW. Lasseter has a genuine love for the parks, since one of his first Disney jobs was on the Jungle Cruise, so as long as he is calling the shots creatively there should be a lot of awesome coming to the parks.
