The Beatings Will Continue Until Morale Improves: The tower? What is it?
FlyPanAm: It's a good thing the Sequester won't affect anyone's daily lives, otherwise I'd be pissed.
Primitive Screwhead: It will be an entirely different takeoff and landing experience altogether.
rkiller1: It will be an entirely different takeoff and landing experience
milowitz: We have no tower, sir.
firefly212: This is the crux of modern "conservatism"... this is why they propose general cuts, but never anything specific. Though there is certainly pork to be cut (that never will be cut, see the F-35 program or the C-130 program), the reality is that much of federal government provides critical services on a daily basis, and without nearly the overhead people talk about. From the critically understaffed aircraft control towers to the wildland firefighters who don't get health insurance to USDA inspectors who get fractions of a second to inspect our meat and poultry, our country has so vilified working for the government that they've lost track of what it is the government does. Just like the "cut the post office budget" gets translated into morons voting to mandate 6 day service, but with some magical and ethereal budget (much like the 30 year pension funding that requires funding pension plans for people you haven't even hired)... the new "conservatives" only want to slash services for the poor, hungry, and sick... they want the government to do all the things it does right now for them, they just don't want to pay for it.

Zeno-25: firefly212: Though there is certainly pork to be cut (that never will be cut, see the F-35 program or the C-130 program)Uh, what? F-35 I could agree with but the C-130 has been around for about 60 years and has proven to be a pretty versatile aircraft.
Treygreen13: Maverick: Tower, this is Ghost Rider requesting a flyby.Tower: ........
Pointy Tail of Satan: The fewer airports we have, the faster we get flying cars.
devildog123: These are little airfields. We aren't talking about JFK or Chicago-O'Hare. Plenty of podunk fields don't have towers now. That's what you have a CTAF for. Pilots can talk to each other and will have no real problems. These are most likely tiny fields that had part time towers anyway, and that even when they have the towers running, see a handful of GA flights a day. Closing some congressman's pork barrel tower at some tiny municipal airport probably isn't a bad thing.
Hawnkee: Hey, you know what they say: "See a broad to get dat booty yak 'em, gotta' leg 'er down and smack 'em yak 'em! Cold GOT ta be. Sheeeeit."
