Since this is Capcom, I'll assume the other characters and alternate endings will be locked out until a later DLC.

Since this is Wayforward, I'll assume that it'll be gorgeous and will be a blast to play, and won't have DLC.

This makes me sad. Not this in itself, but that my first thought was "I wonder how they farked it up?"

Himalayas
Amazon
African Mines
Transylvania
The Moon

In that order.

I'm actually really shocked that Disney hasn't considered resurrecting their old TV franchises like this. The generation that grew up on Ducktales and Disney's 90s TV programming are starting to have their own kids. You can bet lots of parents would watch right alongside their kids.

I will buy this and other remakes. Get on it capcom

2d is fun.

Chip n Dale: Rescue Rangers next.  then Darkwing Duck.  that should do it for the good Disney Afternoon games.

Wayforward makes great games, so this will be a day 1 purchase.

I had the GameBoy version and I'm pretty sure I remember putting my headphones on and just leaving this game on pause... and jamming tha fark out!  Oh, to be 10 again.

I beat DuckTales so many times in every way- least amount of money, max amount, different level orders, etc.  Good times.  One of the keystones of the NES.

I now hate you for making me imagine a (well done) flight-sim/rpg set in the TaleSpin universe.  Something like Privateer meets Crimson Skies...  Shere Khan, Don Karnage, the Thembrians, Louie's, the missions/stories are there.

Screw you man.  Screw you.

Have this on my emulator right now.  It's one of the ones that I always grab.

Ahh, so many days faking sick to stay home and play Ducktales.

Is this the same as the shiat Ducktales game on the C64?

2013-03-22 07:06:48 PM
NES Ducktales was awesome, but I as a kid I was in love with an entirely different one on PC - you'd tell Launchpad where you wanted to go, and then you'd have to fly the plane through barns and whatnot to get there. I really don't remember anything else about the game, but it was a favorite.

Was there ever a Gargoyles game?  Did they make one and I missed it, or does one simply not exist?  'Cause if that's the case (it doesn't exist), somebody needs to make one.

The Moon theme song was the absolute best.  These guys (and the crowd) did it pure justice:

I got all misty and starting missing the few good bits of my youth.

While the Moon stage theme is the best music ever produced by the Famicom/Nintendo Entertainment System sound hardware (and amongst the best music ever produced by any game console's sound hardware), the Himalayas theme is also a quality production that is sadly underappreciated.

You know, that would be awesome, but the only thing that would be a day-one purchase for me would have to be a Darkwing Duck game. I like DuckTales and hope it does well enough to push for a revival of other Disney series, though.

There was one for the Genesis.  Sadly, it wasn't very good.

My god.  That sounds AMAZING.  Closest I've seen to anything like that is Quackshot.  Kind of like Ducktales, but with Donald instead of Scrooge, and a plunger gun (temporarily stuns enemies, and can stick to walls to create footholds) instead of a pogo stick cane.  You could go from area to area, ostensibly in any order, but sometimes you needed an upgrade or item from another world in order to progress in a different one.  Great game.

Does anyone know if all those Disney universe, Talespin, Ducktales, Goof Troop, are contemporaneous? That is, do they happen at the same/similar times? I know Darkwing and Ducktales are, but the rest?

I'd love to see them change one of their channels to a Retro Nick-at-Night style channel.  They have enough in the vault (hell call the channel Vault Disney) to fill a channel.  Davy Crockett, Disney Afternoons, Silly Symphonies, the whole wildlife series, the original Mickey Mouse Club (too many music issues to bother with the second one [same with Kids, Incorporated]), and all those segments where Walt is talking about various projects (I love the one where talks about the upcoming Pirates ride), and Swiss Family Robinson, all come immediately to mind.
