Rooftoppers, you might be wondering, are photographers who take photos of themselves from the tops of buildings and other structures.

I think I know how this trend ends.

Fark that mess.

And in case anyone's never seen it: Tower climbers working 1,700+ feet up

Bonus point if you can make it through the whole thing without your hands starting to sweat

I would fall off.  I would not be able to control my nerves, would lose my balance, have vertigo, puke, piss and tumble to my death.

Unless I landed in that big pool.  Then I'd be all right.

The tower climbers video makes my balls hurt.  And not in a good way.

He probably has something to hold on to.

NOPE.

jaylectricity: He probably has something to hold on to.

I would hope so, but it wouldn't make a difference to me.  I could be cabled in five different ways and I would still lose my shiat.

That's why I have to give mad respect to Tom Cruise for filming a lot of his own scenes in MI:4 on the outside of that building.  Yeah, he was cabled in, and yeah, he probably figured Xenu would save him or some shiat, but he was out there, running along that outside of that farking tower. Farking hell.

Nope...Stomach got butterflies watching that stupid video, hands got sweaty. Fark you very much.

My palms are sweating just looking at that pic.

Looking at the picture I can see part of a lanyard so I imagine he's wearing a harness.  Although I don't think I'd want to be dangling that high off from a 6ft section of nylon...

Excuse me while I excavate my testicles from my abdomen after viewing that photo.

How did he get up there to start with?

Thanks for that. Between that and the photo from the article, I have acrophobia again.

But can he see his house from up there?

2013-03-22 12:17:09 PM
How do you climb up there in dad-jeans and boat shoes?

JUMP!

I'm pretty sure the impact with the water would still kill you at that height.

Nope. I'm pretty sure that terminal velocity is low enough to survive. You just have to fall spread eagle.

That's "We're making our final approach to the airport.  The captain has turned on the 'fasten seat belt' sign.  Please bring your seats upright and close your tables" height.

FTFA: Rooftoppers, you might be wondering, are photographers who take photos of themselves from the tops of buildings and other structures. We're guessing for nothing more than shiats and giggles or to show off their testicular fortitude

Welp, that was a nice hobby while it lasted. You've all been bested. You'll look like a pussy now standing on the Sears Tower. Nothing more to do until the next country decides that it needs to have the worlds biggest building...for some reason.

pute kisses like a man: they say the fear of heights is not the fear of falling, it's the fear that you might jump.

I'd agree with that. I think this is kind of a "dream" fear where your subconscious comes up and whispers terrifying things that you can't quite understand enough to make words out of.

I've gone skydiving a bunch of times and was never as afraid as I get when watching crazy high videos or seeing photos like this.

Dude.  It's WATER.  As long as I remembered to arch back up to the surface as soon as I was in the pool, I'd be safe as houses.

Looking at the landscape below, I'm thinking: this is what I want my next city sim to look like.

AdolfOliverPanties: and tumble to my death.

Tumble, yes.  To your death, depends on how hard you smack into the side of the building as you reach the end of your safety rope.

In the picture, you can see a red strap behind him.  99% sure the guy is physically attached to the building.

Alright let's threadjack this one like I did the last one: Imagine instead of being safely on top of the world being 100 storeys up with nothing, no medical services, and a lawless vertical community under your feet.

I wish I'd gotten this in before the tower climbers video because that one's a tough act to follow, but this one is both crazy and beautiful for those who haven't seen it.
