Smells like a hoax.

kevinboehm: Smells like a hoax.

This.
But how much does it cost to get the sign made and rent a billboard? I am guessing $500-$3000 so the investment account can't be worth that much.

You'd think she'd use the evidence to win most of that money in a divorce settlement.

/kinda sad you don't trust your husband enough to put a GPS tracker on him

I worked as a PI for several years, GPS trackers are very common in divorces although in Georgia it is more common for the husband to use them to catch the wife because of our rather unique alimony laws.

Up here divorce lawyers like toll transponders.

If she's crazy enough to do that, he's probably better off.

It's kind of sad that a marriage license is taken to be a certificate of ownership.

Helpful but these GPS units are scary accurate, I could not only tell where they stopped for gas but I could see what pump island they used.

/Caught one lady who was meeting her boyfriend every Tuesday after she dropped the kids off at school.  They went to a different hotel every week. This was the unit I used.

I don't understand this sentence.
Also, this is a totally fake stunt to generate interest in the newly constructed(and expensive looking) billboard- by its owner.

Well, it is very subtle.
Also, yeah, this has got to be fake.

Even if this is real, congratulations. Yeah, you got revenge. On the other hand, you just wasted capital you could have claimed half of in the divorce in your state to prove a point, and infinitely complicated your divorce proceedings should he try to fight it.

Fake or rage. Either way.

Since Nikon is the only brand mentioned, that seems like the most likely explanation.

Though you'd think they'd be above this sort of thing

Fake or not, this is why women shouldn't be allowed money.

I disagree. I want to see an all out war. Problem is...who pays for the cameras?

"[Like] . [Comment] . [Share] . 7 hours ago," on my Fark?

More likely than you think.

Pretty expensive unit.  If the lady was coming home to her husband at least every now and again, why use a GPS with a transponder?  I built a GPS data logger that dumps to a microSD card for like, $70.  Made it in to a dog collar for my mother's dog for a mother's day gift.  That crazy animal runs away all the time.  Anyway, the GPS coords were logged once a second and were super accurate.  Now we know where the dog goes and my mom just goes to a point along the way and waits to intercept.

Why is this important again?

2013-03-22 06:01:03 AM
Seen this sort of thing twice over the last few years. Both times they were part of a marketing campaign.
Given how much billboards and so on cost - money she would want in a divorce - I'm pretty sure this is, too.
The fact that she mentions the camera by brand name makes me think the ads will be for Nikon

I have no dog in the fight and II realize that reddit gets stories first and blah blah blah but I can't stand sorting and sifting through that mess of front page. Fark may be "a shell" but at least it is user friendly, Reddit is so hard to look at.

You can have an open marriage in which you both are free to date and sex other people. Just be honest up front about it before you take vows to do otherwise in front of God and witnesses.

Summoner101: /kinda sad you don't trust your husband enough to put a GPS tracker on him

Eh, one presumes that the trust may have already been betrayed to a sufficient degree that she became suspicious enough to investigate further, at which point she bought the tracker and camera.

That is only one possibility of course; it is also possible that (presuming it isn't fake to begin with) she's a shrill harpy who pushed her husband away in the first place.

Of course it's fake. Michael, Jennifer and Jessica have to be three of the most common names for people presumably in the commuting/enough-disposable-income-to- buy-shiat demographic. Plus, no way a lover's triangle in the south doesn't include at least one of those gender-ambiguous first names that was once a family surname (ie Carter, Morgan, etc).
