It seems Louisville will be having none of that 16 seed upset talk.

KiwDaWabbit: Now, I have a little bit of hope for my Bluejays, even though I'm well aware that circular logic doesn't translate into actual performance (see Creighton getting taken behind the woodshed at St. Mary's about a month ago).

I think Creighton has a run in them. They shoot the ball better than almost anyone in D1, McDermott is an NBA level talent who can score inside and out and go for 30+ on any given night, they rebound on the defensive end well and their guard play is good enough that it won't be a liability against most teams.

I had them getting passed Duke and almost put them past Michigan State, but just couldn't bring myself to pick against Izzo with a good team. If Creighton would have been put in the South or West I might have thought about Final Four.

Pitino was a master at dominating an even slightly weaker team. Just crush their spirit.
However while at UK he was below 20% in games decided by less than 5 points. Actually got down to 15% once.
NBA helped. He's still weak in close games as a coach.

Dammit Verne.  You are not watching San Diego State.  How hard is it to figure that out?

Finally down to 6 figures after the morning games! Perfect brackets remaining in ESPN Tournament Challenge (of ~8.14 million entries), after:

Michigan State over Valpapraiso  - 7,806,620
Butler over Bucknell - 6,321,459
Wichita St. over Pittsburgh - 1,918,510
Saint Louis over New Mexico St. - 1,699,018
Memphis over Saint Mary's - 1,362,660
Marquette over Davidson - 1,182,157
Gonzaga over Southern - 1,176,957
Oregon over Oklahoma St. - 448,676

Don't get too excited. My girlfriend has a bracket this year. Also 8/8. And she picked Gonzaga "because it sounds like Gonzo".

Hah, I don't have them going past the Sweet 16, and I'm not even sure they will make it that far.  Marquette gave me a real scare though.

Congrats, you're in the top 5.5%!

I just did the math, and if there's a similar rate of 5.5% perfect brackets for the evening games, we'll have about 25,000 still perfect overall. Which seems like a huge number till you remember that's only 0.3%,

I picked Colorado State over Missouri.

Either I've made one of the dumbest picks in the tournament, or I have given myself a big advantage in my bracket.

Yeah, there's no doubt that they have a pretty good up side, but I'm pretty worried about that Cincinnati defense. When they're on, they're on, but they're a bit on the inconsistent side in my view. I kind of feel like they could play from behind by double digits for 75% of tomorrow's game only to make the score look respectable before they're one and done or that they could come within a possession of reaching the Elite Eight, somewhat like you were saying.

That and I picked Belmont over Arizona.

I wish I could say I was drunk when I made this bracket but I really wasn't.

And I agree that you don't bet against Izzo when he has a good team. In that region, I think it comes down to Michigan State and Louisville (unless St. Louis somehow surprises them).

A valid point.
80 against UT....in the first half. I still miss the 96 team. Underrated on the list of all-time great teams.

K.C. is probably my favoritest farker who I will never put in my favorites list, because to make his posts show up in color and stand out would ruin the fun.

Still at school (farking math team event), so I can't get on ESPN's fantasy site, but on Yahoo I've got 7/8 and there are 173K perfect brackets ahead of me.

BTW, robsul82, did you see that BEST IN THE WORLD is back in net and wasted no time in setting more records with his stunning offensive prowess?

Tangential, but has anybody watched CSU this year? Seems like a pretty generous seeding and opponent for Missouri, but I haven't seen them.

Reason #4849543798453 I can't stand corporate America.
All the NCAA tournament floors re-branded with NCAA logos, black lines, and blue letters so they're all the same.
Part of the fun was watching all the different teams on different floors. Wildcats vs. Wildcats on a 3rd Wildcats' floor. Sycamores vs. Salukis on the Sooners' floor.

Assholes.

mitchcumstein1: They only had like 19 NBA players on that team, yeah, they were solid.

Please, it was only 9 players, and Wayne Turner and Jeff Sheppard didn't even last a year in the NBA!

But yeah.... a couple other teams had around 5 NBA players, sometimes plus a marginal player (2007 Florida, 1999 Duke, 2009 Carolina, 2004 UConn). But that UK team was crazy in they had 7 players who ended up having real NBA careers, plus 2 more who at least made it to the league briefly.

According to some sports writer's tweet, a Belmont player was told that he couldn't sit with his teammates if he didn't pour his Powerade into an official NCAA Gatorade bottle. Second-hand info, but I'll support it because it feeds my existing opinion of the NCAA.

oh that's for sure a true story.  never fark with the corporate sponsorship.  it's one thing if the ncaa wants to brand itself as the owners of ugly ass black and blue trimmed courts, but players better not fark with the money flowing to the ncaa.  the old men in charge would be very upset.  might be a major violation and suspension for life.

Agreed.
The 1992 Olympic Dream Team guys were told what to do because most were Nike sponsored, but Reebok had the Olympic deal.
No telling what an NCAA suit would tell a NCAA athlete/indentured servant.
