(ESPN)   How will your brackets get broken? Why do they insist on calling the first round the second round? Where is Kentucky? Better late, than never, it's your official March Madness discussion thread   (scores.espn.go.com ) divider line

bulldg4life: One calls block, one calls charge...

Do the refs have a jump ball?

Nope just whistles.

2013-03-21 06:44:40 PM
The fark, Southern? Just jacking up ill-advised threes now?

2013-03-21 06:44:48 PM
I'm so glad Gus Johnson is calling some games this y---oh wait.

2013-03-21 06:45:22 PM
That was a foul.  Gonzaga gets lucky.

2013-03-21 06:45:37 PM
Well, Gonzaga. You picked a good game to blow up on. Play normally and you're in better shape. ANY better team punishes the Zags for their play today by giving them an early exit.

2013-03-21 06:46:02 PM
Oh well.

MyEnamine: Are moving screens legal in college?

What moving screen?  Are you drinking this early in the day?

2013-03-21 06:46:11 PM
Gotta hustle for the board there, boys.

2013-03-21 06:46:38 PM
Oh, no effort on the rebound there by someone on Southern.

Who?

Consolation prize for runner up in the NBA.

2013-03-21 06:46:45 PM
Well that could be it... good game, good effort Southern.

2013-03-21 06:46:51 PM
Why is Southern taking those long shots. They needed to get the ball inside and go after that guy that looks like he stepped out of a time warp from the 70's

2013-03-21 06:47:05 PM
Damn it.  So close and so far.

rugman11: That was a foul.

Was not.  I think you might be biased.

That was a pretty bad no call even in real time.

Koman Coulibaly: MyEnamine: Are moving screens legal in college?

I saw it too. Olynyk was practically doing the Harlem Shake as he set a screen on the last possession.

Cmon JMU!

2013-03-21 06:47:24 PM
Hell of a game Southern. Wow.

/yay brackets!

Annnnnnd game.
7 for 7

Go Oregon

2013-03-21 06:48:47 PM
Seriously, that long haired Zag dude was throwing moving screens left and right. That can't be legal.

2013-03-21 06:48:59 PM
Gonzaga-Wichita State is going to be a good game.

2013-03-21 06:49:25 PM
Well, assuming Oregon holds on, I'll be 7-for-8 on the early games. Pretty good morning/afternoon.

2013-03-21 06:49:49 PM
I just bought tickets for the two games in Auburn Hills Saturday. Anyone know where to find any information on start times?

2013-03-21 06:50:09 PM
When do the upsets start?

robsul82: mikaloyd: WTF is a Southern and why is it embarassing a #1?

Southern's in Baton Rouge, man.

Thats Cowboys country.

2013-03-21 06:51:10 PM
Well, Southern decided to play with our hopes and dreams until the final minutes. Fun game, but too bad they couldn't pull off the miracle.  Perfect brackets remaining in ESPN Tournament Challenge (of ~8.14 million entries), after:

Michigan State over Valpapraiso  - 7,806,620
Butler over Bucknell - 6,321,459
Wichita St. over Pittsburgh - 1,918,510
Saint Louis over New Mexico St. - 1,699,018
Memphis over Saint Mary's - 1,362,660
Marquette over Davidson - 1,182,157
Gonzaga over Southern - 1,176,957

Almost in the 6 digits, and this number will almost certainly be cut at least half if Oregon closes their game out.

If that was true, the officials would have called it.  Seems like a lot of booze has been consumed by biased irrational folks in this thread.

/Also, everyone hates the Harlem Shake.

You know there always has to be one that is going to be contrary just for the sake of being contrary.

Why does there always have to be one?

Luckily for Gonzaga I don't think there are any more super athletic guard duos in the West. Those two from Southern were flying all over the place.

That was Globetrotter-esque

300K+ people picked Valparaiso?

I saw Wichita State as being a very good team, but that's in the context watching the MVC. I basically figured that the conference itself was fairly weak and that they'd get run out of the tournament on a rail.

Now, I have a little bit of hope for my Bluejays, even though I'm well aware that circular logic doesn't translate into actual performance (see Creighton getting taken behind the woodshed at St. Mary's about a month ago).

Anyway, I wish the Shockers well.

Let's go A&T!

/why NOT bounce the fightin' Pitinos? Make history!

2013-03-21 07:07:53 PM
8 for 8 now.
Go Louisville
Go Michigan
Go Airizona
Go Cal

2013-03-21 07:11:12 PM
I thought I'd picked Okie State. Nope, I'm 1 of 4 on the Fark board on ESPN who's 8-0 right now.

I'm a valpo alum, and even I know there was a 99% chance of my crusaders getting stomped by Michigan State on their home turf.  Glad to see my team make it back to the tourney though.
