They are ruining Muse for me.

See and I thought sure that the Dropkick Murphy's "Boys are Back" would be the most abused song during the tournament this year.

Wow, Gregg invoking Antoine Carr in the first round. Little early for that maybe coach.

Also, every player in that room asked themselves who the hell Antoine Carr was.

I've never watched Archer, so he's still and will always be Coach McGuirk in my book.

You wanna know something? Anyonecan become a soccer coach. Like, they don't regulate. You can become coach, of a sport that you don't care about, you don't know how to play, you're not good with kids. But I have had the job for three years. You'd think that they would check up but they don't.

Doug Gottlieb really just said (about a player from New Zealand): "They call him 'Kiwis' but he's anything but soft like a kiwi."

World class officiating. That's the standard for marquee events such as March Madness.

I think the Wichita coach asked them to look at the replay about a potential elbow to the head.

Loved the Encyclopedia Brown books. Buggs is actually from Memphis, so the reference would have really been perfect if he'd gone to Memphis and been a Tiger.

It was the under-12:00 media timeout.

So far I've called them all and all my picks are in the lead. Of course I have Iowa State winning the whole ball of wax.

I'd be an excellent prognosticator if it weren't for my delusional soft-spot for Iowa/ISU/UNI basketball.

It actually worked out for me well the year UNI upset Kansas, who knows this may be the year.

tollbooth_willy: worlddan: tollbooth_willy: Finally... Thanks subby.

Go Lobos!!!

just for the hell of it I picked them to win it all. They are in the easiest division this year and the only real challenge is Ohio St. and Pitt. This is a great year to make a run to the Final Four.

They've broken my heart so many times, but this year feels different. Outstanding D all year (barring 2-3 games), and their offense is finally clicking in the last few weeks.

Agreed, when they're on, they can beat anyone, but they're so up and down this year. That, however, is much better than in previous years though when they'd go into halftime up pretty good and just blow the second half all the time. I hope they make the Elite 8 (well, really hope they win it all, of course), but have a feeling Sweet 16 will be the end for them.

Curse the 8-9 coinflip. At least I'm pretty sure I didn't pick any 8-9 seeds to make the 16, so I won't lose much from Pitt flopping.

jayhawk88: Where's this idea that Pitt is so much better than Wichita State coming from?

Pomeroy actually has them ranked eighth, with the 9th best offensive and the 17th best defense. They only had one bad loss, the rest all came to tournament teams with four of their eight losses coming to Michigan, Marquette, and Louisville. They also had wins over Syracuse and Georgetown, though their nonconference schedule was atrocious.

I don't think that's true. Pitt is a very flawed team, that's the reason they're an 8 seed. I have seen lots of people say Pitt matches up better with Gonzaga, which I believe.

They have a very good defense, and have been living off of that most of the year.

Well now that's a little silly. I don't care what the numbers say: The Shockers do not have the 9th best offense in the tournament.

This is Pitt every year.
This is them choking every year because the only play the same good teams every year. Big East teams they know so they're bound to win a few.

I've ignored the Pitt hype every year for the past 3 years & it's done me good in bracket pools. Sadly they were only an 8 seed this year. No hype to go deep at all.

...My referee rage makes me blind. I farking hate referees.

Lol - A player (Preacher's son actually) on my High School basketball team got involved in a shoving match with an opposing player who had cheapshotted him - elbow to the jaw. Ref stepped up to him from behind, and pinned both his arms; so the other player obligingly punched him in the face three or four times.

Not knowing it was a ref holding his arms, he blindly spun and punched the ref in the face - laid him out.

doh.

Refs refused to call any of our games - would have forced us to forfeit the rest of the season - unless our guy was suspended from play for the rest of the season... (other team's puncher lost three games iirc).

/ref actually tried to get him charged with assault. It's been 35 years and it still jumps my blood pressure.
//btw most refs do amazingly good work at a thankless job. Most.
