rugman11: Supes: Butler-Bucknell is suddenly turning into a good game.

I had Bucknell until I read Bill Connelly's article about upset factors and Bucknell didn't have many.  Starting to regret that switch.

Lot of Yahoo users had Butler getting to the Sweet 16 and beyond, just based on previous years one would assume. More so than any other 6 seed, and more than some of the 5's as well.

I grew up in a state that didn't have a shot clock.  Those other games seam so fast paced like city life I reckon.

"OK, so, ok, if you accept, ok, that Kentucky's 'one and done' is bad for NCAA, then, objectively, ok, the question must be asked, can we even subjectively evaluate, from an objective standpoint, ok, whether that says more about how the NCAA polices basketball in conjunction with the NBA's age limit, versus, ok, how the NCAA police football in conjunction with the NFL draft, ok?  I mean, objectively, can we even devise the subjective metric to create, ok, a data set that accounts for the selection bias but that recognizes that we wouldn't care about the 'one and done', ok, if they didn't win the championship?  i mean, objectively, bill, would you care if Anthony Davis was a one and done if he never won?  Or, can we subjectively even be objective about he subjective objectivity, ok, of kentucky getting blue chip athletes?  i mean, ok, if David Lee Roth never leaves Van Halen, ok, then, is that not ab initio indicative of how dynasties should form, ok?  and if so, doesn't that force the conclusion, ok, that one-and-dones in themselves, are not dynastic if not in form but effect?"

Hey anyone know, the CBS online thing, is it just free this year? I was prepared to drop some cash on it (no cable), but I'm getting it for nothing now...will that continue?

Go Lobos!!!

just for the hell of it I picked them to win it all. They are in the easiest division this year and the only real challenge is Ohio St. and Pitt. This is a great year to make a run to the Final Four.

40-39 Bucknell, 8 minutes to go.

ESPN's insider said Bucknell was over 40% to win iirc

While we're asking questions, why do eight teams play for bracket spots that have NEVER won in the history of the tournament?  It's about as relevant as the Fark.com Bowl.

They've broken my heart so many times, but this year feels different.  Outstanding D all year (barring 2-3 games), and their offense is finally clicking in the last few weeks.

Huh, I'm getting the Bucknell game right now, and was watching Wichita State. Just wondering if that's just a "first round of games" thing or what.

What?  I have never seen a charge call missed.  Maybe you should put the beer down and admire the amazing job being done by these officials.

We can't wait until the under 4 timeout to see if that's a three or a  two? We have to stop the game, and make sure the officials get on TV, don't we? Just like the block/charge call, officials want to make sure you know they're there.

Well, in 2011 VCU played for one of those bracket spots, and made it to the Final Four. So that's pretty impressive and relevant.

Car_Ramrod: Butler is 0-13 from beyond the arc? That's crazy.

Butler has, like, 1 1/2 players who can actually score the basketball.  Kind of amazing given the state's full of high schoolers who can score.  Since Clarke and maybe Dunham are their only scorers and they only score from outside, teams pretty much smother them.  The rest is a struggle.

Bucknell fading.

Damn. There were so many teams this year that were unable to win consistently, I decided to remove personal opinions, and choose strictly on 'feel'. Figured it was as likely as throwing darts.

/Got all four of the play-in games and Mich St. right. Go Bucknell, Wichita St, and St. Louis.
//Sigh. Somehow I have Indiana beating Duke in the Finals.  Gah, and alcohol wasn't even involved.

Officials are just doing their jobs correctly.  They aren't looking for fame.

The surest sign of good officiating is when you never notice the officials.

No, they are not.  Drunken biased screaming fans, players, and coaches are shiat.  The officials are doing an amazing job.

Cue Michigan fan crowing about MSU being unable to guard Valpo's Buggs on the perimeter (but only after MSU went up by 29 and Izzo started to slow things down and used the bench liberally) in 5...4...3....

Would you prefer "stuff a stat sheet" or "shoot the rock"?

Or, God forbid, "Put the biscuit in the basket"?

Yeah, that's what I thought.

That Wheat Thins commercial kills me. The guy is wrestling with a Yetti over his Wheat Thins, and then Ted from next door runs in and steals them.
