Well that was disappointing. Though at least we have two other games going on right now that are on upset watch. Anyway, perfect brackets remaining in ESPN Tournament Challenge (of ~8.14 million entries), after:

Michigan State over Valpapraiso  - 7,806,620
Butler over Bucknell - 6,321,459
Wichita St. over Pittsburgh - 1,918,510
Saint Louis over New Mexico St. - 1,699,018
Memphis over Saint Mary's - 1,362,660
Marquette over Davidson - 1,182,157

2013-03-21 05:48:43 PM
I'm saved!!!! I just hope Marquette can get their shiat together and make it to the elite eight.

2013-03-21 05:48:55 PM
And the Badger Mens Hockey team crushed Mankato in the WCHA Final Five, 7-2.

Awesomeness all around.

robsul82: Southern better pull this off to make up for all the chalk, lol.

Oregon thinks they're playing the other OSU, though I don't know if that'd really be a true 12-5 upset.

2013-03-21 05:52:30 PM

Supes: Marquette over Davidson - 1,182,157

Only have to beat 1,182,156 people

Who didn't have Oregon there, that and the 9-8 doesn't count.  Not really, lol.

Man.  If Davidson had pulled that off, I'd have been one of the last 180,000 perfect brackets.

I had Oregon and Davidson....Marquette and OSU

Balls

Supes: As per usual, the oddsmakers called it Marquette struggling. Look at the spreads for the four 3-seed games:

No. 3 Michigan State vs. No. 14 Valparaiso: MSU -10
No. 3 Marquette vs. No. 14 Davidson: Marquette -3.5
No. 3 New Mexico vs. No. 14 Harvard: New Mexico -11
No. 3 Florida vs. No. 14 Northwestern State: Florida -20.5

For the last three years, I've been employing the "everyone in the Big East is overrated and none of them make it to the Elite Eight" strategy. I've done pretty well. I wanted to take Marquette to lose against Davidson, but figured it would be safer to have them knocked out the next round or against Miami.

/Picked ND to lose against ISU for the same reason
//Happy to see The Shockers get the win I wanted. So far I'm 6-0. This will change.

Brackets perfect if southern beats gonzaga?

You had two teams that play each other in the *2nd round?

2013-03-21 05:57:14 PM

tollbooth_willy: Wadded Beef: Sure do. There was a lot of applause for CSU from the CU camp when the MW and PAC-12 tournements were on side-by-side TVs in the sports bar last week.

Good to know.  As a Lobo fan, I'm pulling for them against Mizzou tonight.  Just curious about the in-state rivalry.

Hornung and Iverson are beastly on the glass, but they could really use Green at 100%

Yeah, the rivalry is a bit muted since they're in different conferences. I'd say if CU has an eye on someone it'd be Arizona.

I'm liking CU's chances tomorrow. Colorado has length over Illinois -- as most Illinois women will attest. huh huh huh

3ball, Southern.  Zags by 2.

2013-03-21 05:58:48 PM
The fat kid from Southern is having the game of his life.

Treygreen13: You had two teams that play each other in the *2nd round?

What?

I have two brackets.

In one, I picked Marquette and OK St. In the other I had Davidson and Oregon. I screwed up my upset distribution.

2013-03-21 06:00:04 PM
Is it an optical illusion with the uniforms or does Southern have some pudgy players?

Two brackets? HERESY

Holy crap I hope southern pulls this off for teh lols

Losing as a one seed will complete the Gonzaga fail that has happened every year since their one dream run. Those bastards had everybody picking them as a darkhorse to make a similar run and they disappointed every single goddamn year.

They'll destroy everyone's bracket today and then next year, when nobody believes in them, they'll go to the elite 8 as a 14 seed.

It might be Manute Bol's kid running around out there throwing off the frame of reference.

Eh

I always like doing a gut feeling just go as fast as possible to fill out and one where I actually think about it and read comparisons.

No illusion. Southern's PG is built like a shorter, fatter Raymond Felton.

Only "upset" and it drops by 5 million.  Proof positive that most people go chalk.

Somewhere in the neighborhood of 18,000 would be left perfect. Only about 1.5% of the total entrants picked Southern in the first round.

considering jalen rose told me that 24 of the 27 last ncaa champions were one seeds, chalk seems to be a good idea.

I picked Pitt and Davidson.  I think.  I don't know, I'm in half a dozen brackets, can't keep track.  I do know that I had more Davidson and Pitt than Marquette and Wichita State.

Not early in the tourney, though.  I have a feeling the upsets will begin on Saturday.

Go Oregon

Why do I ever think Oklahoma State is capable of showing up in the tournament? Gets me every damn year.
