Super Chronic: So I flip to the Davidson-Marquette game and the first thing I hear is the color commentator saying "great reach-around!"  I don't know if I should stay with this game or not.

Raftery again?  That's at least the second time today he's made that call.

Well, I had Bucknell as an upset team against Butler, so there goes my perfect bracket. So far I've predicted the winners of all the remaining completed games.

And the first time he's done it on-air.

Do you really think those priest were giving those kids the common courtesy of a reach around?

GOOOO MARQUETTE!!! (please...)

Sorry if this has been covered, but I just got here. Is MMOD only available for people with certain cable plans?

Picked Okie State and Marquette to be in the Sweet Sixteen.  Not looking so perfect anymore.

Marquette is in some deep shiat.

Southern U back to within 1 possession.  o.O

I have Marquette losing to Butler anyways, so if they lose, that makes a Butler win much more likely. I'd take it.

It sounds like the online version is free for four hours of viewing (though there are apparently ways to get around that like Incognito mode in Chrome).  The mobile apps are cable only.

So, CBS has Dr. Phil on.

Yeah, that makes a ton of sense....guh.

49-42 Davidson, 4:38 to go.

I know the play-by-play guy is Ian Eagle, I can't place the color guy's voice... oh wait, I can look it up... Jim Spanarkel.

4 hours only? Lame.

I can't even get a video to load in FF, so I figured it was subscription only. I'll have to try Chrome later.

1% of Yahoo brackets have Southern beating Gonzaga.

Davidson has a lead, but might want to rethink their "wait 10 seconds and then heave a shot from half court" strategy.

Don't know if it's tied to cable plans, but the trick with Chrome is to just watch in incognito mode, then when it kicks you off after 4 hours, just closer the entire incognito browser (not just the tab), re-open an incognito browser, and happily resume.

To get it to load you are going to have to adjust your flash settings.

Someday it'll happen, a 1 seed will lose. A largely ignored side-effect of the opening round games is the increased quality of low seeds. The 4 auto qualifiers who were in the play-in games would normally have been the 16 seeds. Now since 2 of them are eliminated early, 2 of the teams that would have been 15 seeds in the old format are bumped down to 16.

The more play-in games are added, the higher quality opponents 1 seeds will face. It's really only a matter of time till one of them finally loses.

Preaching to the choir, dude. I'm in Milwaukee. Marquette is in Milwaukee. For the last few years, all of their games have been on TruTV, and most of Wisconsin's games have been too. It's infuriating.

Davidson's gotta ice it at the line.

No problem. I had to mess with it for a few minutes before I actually paid attention to what the FAQ said to do.

Aaannnnnd Marquette's inability to hit threes all season, comes back to bite them.

That, and a lot of the conference tournaments keep get pushed back earlier and earlier for TV reasons. Imagine if a Missouri Valley team ever has a breakout year and gets a #1 seed. They might be in a position where they have 11 or 12 days between their last game and first round game, whereas their #16 opponent maybe just played and won two days ago. Could be a factor at least.

As per usual, the oddsmakers called it Marquette struggling. Look at the spreads for the four 3-seed games:

No. 3 Michigan State vs. No. 14 Valparaiso: MSU -10
No. 3 Marquette vs. No. 14 Davidson: Marquette -3.5
No. 3 New Mexico vs. No. 14 Harvard: New Mexico -11
No. 3 Florida vs. No. 14 Northwestern State: Florida -20.5

Good point.  Gonzaga's last game was ten days ago.  Southern just five.

Because they had Steph Curry a couple years back.

Oh yeah that is a huge factor. If you are streaking coming into the the tournament, you don't want to have over a week of down time between games. That will kill your momentum.
