Shvetz: I'm sure she was stealing meatballs as part of a multi-million dollar black market scheme. Or, you know, probably because she was going to feed them to her family. A simple reprimand would have sufficed in this situation. A stern talking to would have prevented it from happening again.


Don't mock. Soldiers do it. I know two supply specialists who did and got caught. MREs, chemlights, and other such items bring a lot of money on the black market.

But yes, for someone stealing a bag of meatballs to take home to feed their family, federal charges are farking ridiculous. Dock her pay $8, reprimand her, and forget it. It's not like we need a 21st century Jean Valjean.
