Back in the day I used to play.  I think I was on Vishan?  Can't remember as I let the subscription expire over a decade ago.  It was slightly amusing and a decent game at the time and I had joined one of the guilds, mostly to have other folks to team up with.  Damn if that didn't turn into a constant butthurt festival of he said she said nonsense.

All I wanted to do was spend a night or so playing, have some wine with it, and be silly while killing shiat.

I understand the appeal of MMORPGs, but the idea of having to mediate real human conflict while trying to do wizard shiat is nerve-wracking to me. Skyrim makes more sense to me because I like my wizard games as I like my women: heavily glitched and unable to acknowledge quests I've completed.

Actually, he sounds like more and more people in the region. They're all waking up to the fact that nothing changes based on an American president's visit. Oslo was brokered by Clinton, but all of the heavy lifting had to be done by Arafat and Rabin. All of the other deals brokered by the US since then have been cease-fires of one kind or another, while the more concrete actions (Israel's withdrawal from Gaza, withdrawal from the DMZ in Southern Lebanon, the Palestinian elections) were done in-house.

// of course, nothing's going to get done while both sides antagonize each other because of the last time they antagonized each other in response to belligerence from the others...

To be fair, I don't support half measures like "Group B is allowed to murder half of Group A, as long as they promise to stop there and leave the other half of Group A alone."

/because Group B will naturally find an excuse to renege on their promise to stop, once Group A is at half their strength

I've been listening to this debate for 25+ years. These days, I mostly say nothing (Fark threads notwithstanding, though I'm trying not to get involved with a "Who started it?" debate) - it's the same every time, and calling back to 100-year-old atrocities is fair game.

Nothing is going to get better trying to figure out who started it and why. What we need is someone who will end it.

"Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results."
 - Albert Einstein

So you have a group of people (a "tribe", if you will), that repeatedly suffers calamity after calamity, through century after century, under different religious and political systems in country after country - and amid all of these variables, there are really only TWO constants: The presence of the "tribe" itself, and that tribe's steadfast refusal to consider that their behavior might have played any role in instigating said calamities.

Yes, I would call that "ignorance" - emphasis on ignore.

Here's a nice little quote:

"The Jewish question persists wherever Jews live in appreciable numbers. Wherever it does not exist, it is brought in together with Jewish immigrants. We are naturally drawn into those places where we are not persecuted, and our appearance there gives rise to persecution. This is the case, and will inevitably be so, everywhere, even in highly civilised countries-see, for instance, France-so long as the Jewish question is not solved on the political level. The unfortunate Jews are now carrying the seeds of anti-Semitism into England; they have already introduced it into America."
- Theodor Herzl Founder of modern Political Zionism

Note the bolded, above. WHO "carries the seeds of anti-Semitism"?

So, did Herzl's little scheme work? Did the fulfillment of the Zionist Dream effectively reduce anti-Semitism? Or was that even the goal?

What kind of reputation does the Zionist State have in the world at large?

Has the existence and behavior of the Zionist State had any effect on the way Jews, as a people, are viewed by non-Jews?

It isn't the "tribalism" of the small groups who wants to keep their religion that is the problem.  That isn't even tribalism.  It is the other groups who use the small different group as a scapegoat to blame for all their ills.

Just like you do.

Amos Quito: "The Jewish question persists wherever Jews live in appreciable numbers.

Jews.  But it exists only in a soil and climate of ignorance and hate.  Things you like to spread.  You have to be very stupid to not get what he is saying.

Amos Quito: So, did Herzl's little scheme work?

When he died he was still working onthe vote of the Zionist congress and looking at Uganda, so no.

That is disgusting.

Is laying a wreath some urban dictionary term I'm not familiar with?

It means "laying a wreath."  The "disgusting" part is laying it at the grave of a man who fathered the movement that formed Israel, the same movement that now says Palestinians do not exist, that eternal warfare over scraps of land is preferable to giving one inch of soil back to people it was at least kinda stolen from and farking around with foreign governments and dragging the US into pointless wars rather than finding another more peaceful solution.

No, but 'The grave of Zionist Leader Theodor Herzl' is a term used in some circles to describe the mound of Santorum that results from an all-night camel sodomy binge, so yeah, it's pretty disgusting.

I mean, that's the viewpoint.  It's kind of like being disgusted when someone lays a wreath at the grave of Lenin or the like.  The truth is rituals involving the dead are all about those still living, so take that as you will.

Dr Dreidel: FARK rebel soldier: I once had to listen to one of these 'debates' IRL, so I just sat there and said nothing.

It would seem that ignoring the cause of the problem has been a long-time strategy.

So, how's that been working out for you?

Amos Quito: It would seem that ignoring the cause of the problem has been a long-time strategy.

My one and only response to you this thread:

The cause of the problem depends on where you want to start the clock. Jews and Muslims were best buddies for a while (when Christianity was trying to obliterate them both), and then weren't - a result of manipulation by leaders, geography, geopolitics (the US was ascairt that Syria - which was sort of modernizing in the 60s-70s - Egypt and others would join the Russians in the Cold War), economics, religious fervor, the history of the conflict itself (starting the clock in absurd places or ignoring shameful parts of their own histories) and yes, the violence. The Lamed-Bet, the Sbarro bombings, airstrikes on "known terrorist locations", bombs in trashcans in the beach district, who farking cares?

If every Jew (or Palestinian) in the world issued a mea culpa for the last 60 years, would anyone spring back to life? Would the situation suddenly resolve itself?

Stop living in the past. Figure out how to make the future better.

Who sold out the USA and convinced 80% of the US that Sadaam was involved in 9/11. Pretend all you like, but as things get worse, more and more people will be willing to see this connection

Zionists sold out Germany?  Zionists invented communism?  That is a new twist on Nazi propaganda, but at the end of the day it is the same thing, you goose stepping fark.

i woudl say the economy is a major problem facing the US, you don't blame that on the Jews Zionists or do you now want to come out and say it, because it makes your racist BS a bit to clear?

Bernanke, Sommers, Greenspan, Reich. Just a coincidence that they preside over the destruction of our economy? Why is 2% of the population involved in 90% of the economic ratfarking?

You kind of have to wonder why Germany's economy is so strong as to be able to prop up nearly all of Europe. Perhaps because they can make decisions for themselves, as Germans, as opposed to ratfarking infiltraitors.

For the record, at that time it wasn't a very contraversial statement.  It in no way indicates they have no right to a state, just points out their was no clear difference prior to European powers drawing lines.

Until the late '60s, Arab "Palestinians" didn't exist. Before that, the term had been applied almost exclusively to Jews living in what is now Israel.

Voters did, based on news and information from an industry dominated by one ethnicity, one with a strong loyalty to another nation for crissakes. It's really hard to take this, "Shut up and do something" nonsense when this one group has such ironclad control over US opinion.

All the proof you need of that is the propaganda campaign leading up to the Iraq War. Over 80% of Americans polled believed Sadaam was involved in 9/11 by the time they got finished ratfarking the American consciousness.

That's a good question.
Why don't you ask around your glass house before you throw stones at others...
Ask the CEO's that bundled CDOs that drove the economy into the toilet if they were ever HELD RESPONSIBLE.
Ask the Generals that said Iraq would PAY FOR ITSELF if they were EVER HELD RESPONSIBLE.
Ask any of the corporations that pay fines if they were help RESPONSIBLE for what they did wrong, or did they simply pay a slap on the wrist FINE without assuming ANY RESPONSIBILITY.

Why don't you ask questions in YOUR OWN COUNTRY of your OWN ELECTED LEADERS instead of shooting spit balls halfway across the world at a country the size of Rhode Island, occupied by Jews, telling them how YOU would like to hold them responsible for things you are not affected by.

So you are a psychopath!  Glad I'm not the first person to tell you this.

Here's the definition of the word, Psychopath (as per Dictionary.com)
"a person with a psychopathic personality, which manifests as amoral and antisocial behavior, lack of ability to love or establish meaningful personal relationships, extreme egocentricity, failure to learn from experience, etc."
"a person afflicted with a personality disorder characterized by a tendency to commit antisocial and sometimes violent acts and a failure to feel guilt for such acts"

The fact that you experience no guilt at the photos above, continue on this anti-social crusade to paint all Jews as warmongers, and an inability to learn from your previous experience of being called a psychopath fits the definition perfectly.

Please seek help.
For yourself sake and EVERYONE AROUND YOU.

No, you look foolish for discounting anything that does not fit your narrative of Palestinian = Victim, when the truth is that they've been manipulating the world community.

If you'd like a modern quote, here's the Hamas Charter (you know, their constitution to govern):

"The Day of Judgement will not come until Muslims fight the Jews, when the Jew will hide behind stones and trees. The stones and trees will say, 'O Muslims, O Abdullah, there is a Jew behind me, come and kill him. Only the Gharkad tree would not do that because it is one of the trees of the Jews"(related by al-Bukhari and Muslim).

The Palestine Liberation Organization took it's name from the region, not a people. And their definition of "liberation" was the same one Hamas used: Drive all the Jews into the sea.

It never ceases to amaze me how many people gleefully ignore the fact that Palestine is exactly as real as Symbia.

/which is to say, real enough to kill and die for in the minds of the members of the Symbian Liberation Army
//but not real enough to be an actual government, because beyond the uniting ideology no thought at all was given to the actual task of governing

NostroZ: ronaprhys: Get a modern quote, sparky. You look foolish.

Kind of like the twit who's saying someone's a psychopath because they've no regrets on their voting record - when they don't even know who the alleged psychopath voted for.

Let Jeff from Denver speak for himself. He said  "I know who I voted for and why, and I don't regret my decisions."
It's obviously Bush... as was assumed when he said the above comment in response to the posted picture of Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld... He has no regrets.  Let the man speak for himself, instead of pulling him into your derpfest.

You aren't particularly bright, are you?  I've not espoused a view one way or the other, and now you've attempted to assign one to me.

That's either being pants on the head retarded or a particularly stupid troll attempt.  I'm not sure which yet, but I'm leaning towards particularly stupid troll based on the use of the bold tag when it's not necessary.  Enjoy your extra chromosome.

If, in fact, we're actually trying to have a decent debate you'd have a modern quote.  You don't.  You quoted someone who died roughly 35 years ago.  Fail is yours and then you defended it.  That's why you've earned your mockery.

Pony up with a modern quote.  That's all you've got to do in order to try and establish your point.  A quote that's recent and from someone who's in actual authority.

It looks like the 19th expansion was released about 5 months ago. I'm shocked...I don't know anyone that plays EQ anymore, and I know a lotta nerds.

Now, of you don't mind, please revisit the questions that I posed to you upthread:

QUOTE:

Tatterdemalian: Amos Quito: "Obama is spending three days in Israel and the West Bank, with the vast majority of his appointments taking place in Israel, including plans to lay a wreath on the grave of Zionist leader Theodor Herzl."

That is disgusting.

Because someone who noticed the Jew-hate before the Nazi party emerged must obviously have caused it.

So, what did "cause it", then?

And on the whole, would you say that Political Zionism has been a "good thing"?

Good for the Jews of Israel?

Good for the Jews as a whole?

Good for the Palestinians?

Good for the world at large?

Why or why not?

END QUOTE

Quite simply, Tatterdemalian, I'm asking you (and your fellows) to justify Zionism by its fruits.

Do you find it worthy or wanting? And why?

/So, what's it going to be then, eh?

You just quoted someone that's been dead for how long now?

And didn't actually say what he implied.
Yeah - I know it didn't.  However, it was funny to see him quote "mainstream that deny", which by the verb tense implies a current group, and use someone that's been tits up since, what, 1978?  It's fail all around and that just happened to be the part that amused me the most.

She was Prime Minister when she gave that interview, and no Israeli government has reversed that policy. Also she was PM for a relatively moderate party (a socialist labor party predecessor of Labor) that refused to work with the predecessor of the current governing party, feeling (correctly) that they were crazy fascists.

IOW they're not current because they're not crazy enough.

What policy?

As I pointed

out earlier she didn't say what you implied, and for the record PLO leader of the time was very forthright in saying the palestenian people were invented as a tool to fight the jews.

What is an "anti-Semite"? How would you define this term, and what would be the identifying characteristics of such an individual? If you can honestly answer this question - especially in context with the questions I posed above, you may find yourself enlightened.

No, that's YOUR dishonest BS, liam76. I have never said that "jews are behind the holocaust", and you know it, yet you incessantly repeat the charge. Go ahead, post a link to the J'accuse! Put your blatant dishonesty on display for all to see - you've done it before.

Anti semetism after the growth of zionism doesn;t prove zionism is repsonsible, as anti semetism has been around much lionger.

You clearly said jews in general and zionists in particluar were behind the events that led to the formation of Israel.

liam76: Yes.

You're right. I never said that. And the pictures that I posted were not of "Nazi propaganda", but of propaganda produced by ZIONISTS who sought to stir up hatred against the Germans.

And you know it.

liam76: You clearly said jews in general and zionists in particluar were behind the events that led to the formation of Israel.

Um, that's kind of a no-brainer, liam76. Who did you think was behind the Zionist scheme? Samoans?

liam76: You admitted that the holocaust was one of the events that led to the formation of Israel.

I "admitted"? Do you deny? That's another no-brainer, liam76. Had it not been for the persecution of the Jews by the Nazis, the Zionists would likely never have been able to corral enough Jews in Palestine to form the population base they needed to form their Zionist State. The shortage of warm Jewish bodies was a HUGE problem that was driving Ben Gurion and his pals mad. This is all well documented, and said documents have been presented to you many times.

Where's the smoking gun?

liam76: Not very complicated to see what that means, now is it?

What DOES it mean, liam76?

I'm not even going to honor your last little accusation with a reply.

LOL!

And you wonder why I rarely bother to read your mewlings anymore?

Amos Quito: You're right. I never said that. And the pictures that I posted were not of "Nazi propaganda", but of propaganda produced by ZIONISTS who sought to stir up hatred against the Germans.

When you frame it as an excuse or a reason for the holocaust, as you did, it is Nazi propaganda.

Your absurd ideas about "zionists" controlling the media would is laughable.  Also a jew being upset that jews in another country are mistreated hardly makes them a zionist.

Amos Quito: What DOES it mean, liam76?

If you say A caused the events that led to C.

And you say that C wouldn't be possible without B.

Then you are saying A caused B.

A=Jews in general and zionists in particular.
B=the Holocaust
C=Israel

No wonder you can cling to such stupid beliefs.  You can't even appreciate the simplest logical conclusions of your absurd statements.

Amos Quito: And you wonder why I rarely bother to read your mewlings anymore?

I don't wonder.  I know why.  Because your idiot claims and ideas about jews and zionists being behind all the ills of the world, while well researched, are just that idiotic claims.  You don't like that I recognize your little dance of cherry picking little bits of info then doing massive copy pasta of all those little bits together and pretending it paints the whole picture.  You don't even like when I poit out how absurd that "whole picture" is.

You get mad when I point out how stupid your idea of the jews being behind the holocaust is, yet your arguments about an evil group of jews pulling the strings to create Israel rests upon them causing the holocaust.
