The beer I like is better than the beer you like!

Never heard of any of those beers.

Cinnamon Toast Crunch vs. Muesilix?  That's not even competitive.  Though Booberry vs. Count Chocula is intriquing, no idea who would win that one.

2013-03-20 08:41:34 PM
I'd ever-so-slightly give the edge to Booberry there.

(I'm a lousy traditionalist, so I'd have Corn Flakes poised to win the whole thing.)

It looks like it's only relevant to folks in Maryland, Delaware, and Virginia.

Klippoklondike: Never heard of any of those beers.

these are all local MD-DC-VA-DE craft brews.

Vienna Lager is Devils Backbone (somewhere VA)
The Citizen is DC Brau (NE DC)
Northern Lights is Starr Hill (Charlottesville, VA)
Dark Hollow is Blue Mountain Brewery (??, VA)
Raison D'Etre is Dogfish Head (DE)
Optimal Wit is Port City Brewery (Alexandria, VA)
Dominion Oak Barrel Stout is Dominion (??)
Small Craft Warning is Clipper City's Heavy Seas brand of beer (Baltimore)
Gordon Biersch is a german-inspired restaurant chain around dc
Resurrection - brewer's art, baltimore
Slainte stout - i think slainte is some irish bar in the dc area.  this must be a beer they brew.
face plant ipa - lost rhino ashburn, va

the best rated brewery in the list is probably DC Brau.

The best rated beer in the bracket?  maybe Resurrection.

Heavy Seas' Loose Cannon is 91 on beeradvocate, but omitted
DC Brau's On the Wings of Armageddon is 97 on beeradvocate, but omitted.

Cellar Door - Stillwater Artisanl, Baltimore, MD (92 on BA)
Peppercorn - 3 stars brewery, DC (very obscure)
Duckpin - Union Craft (baltimore)
Double Dog - Flying dog
Serum - Duclaw (bel air, md)
Lucky 7 Porter - Evolution (Salisbury, MD)
Long Snout Stout - Baying Hound Aleworks (Rockville, MD)

suffice to say, this list will not have any heady toppers or parabolas or pliny's.

Same, except for the Dogfish Head brew. For some reason we get a lot of west coast brews in Minnesota, hardly anything from the east coast though.

We need a bracket of brackets to determine the best bracket.

When that championship ends the lights should suddenly dim and the team for the nintendo cereal should come running out to challenge the champions in a surprise second final to make sure they are truly deserving of the win

the bracket is all wrong. if the  Selection Committee would know you don't have branches of the bracket by style. you would actually have to spend more time in the seeding. this is weak. incorporating each style by a ranking system. which in a country wide selection committee wouldn't select 3/4 of the beers in the bracket.

/see how it works

2013-03-21 12:07:59 AM
using this bracketology, your black out drunk beer would be a bracket in to its self.

2013-03-21 12:16:08 AM
wild goose ipa is probably my favorite beer of all time. i haven't seen it in more than ten years or more.

my favorite of the last ten years is blithering idiot but i guess it really isn't beer.

anchor steam, sierra nevada pale ale, guiness. i must include highland brewing oatmel porter as my favorites.

Booberry all the way.  Best Saturday morning cartoon cereal ever.

The one thing these beer brackets make me think is that I haven't tried enough different beers yet.

Just reminded me I have some DFH I need to drink this weekend.  2 bottles of biatches Brew and a 75 min.

And then on to the local stuff.  4 pack of Jack's Abby Hoponious Union and a Pretty Things Jack D'or.

Why drink both biatches Brews? Cellar one for a year or two.

I don't know why that filter amuses me but it does.

They've actually both been cellared.  One for a year or so longer than the other.  Going to do a side by side.

YES!

Just like it always was with Nintendo games!  It would be just like the end of Super Dodge Ball!

Oh see I thought they would take a local beer from each college town in the Tournament... in which case something outta Fort Collins would get to the final 4
/but hey, St. Louis is in...
