DI KEM BE!!!!

Also, have fun dealing with the Nuggets this post season, NBA. They are very much for real.

"No, no, no! Not todayyyyyyy!"

2013-03-20 06:08:19 PM
I want my ringtone to be nothing but Dikembe Mutombo's joyous laughter.

2013-03-20 06:12:43 PM
I learned from that ad that everywhere is Dimembe's house. So don't you dare bring that weak-ass shiat or you get the SWAT and finger-wag.

2013-03-20 06:15:19 PM
I would watch a 7-hour version of that commercial.

2013-03-20 06:15:37 PM
hahaha, not in my house

2013-03-20 06:15:39 PM
If I could just watch Dikembe block various "shots" and laugh for an hour or so, I would gladly buy the blu-ray version. Those Geico commercials are somewhat amusing, but his is always hilarious.

Shaq's entry FTFA: Doing TV. Not very good at it. Has potential, but needs to try less hard. Basically the complete opposite of his playing career, then.

It's so true. Kenny, Charles, and Ernie had perfect chemistry. Shaq is just farking ruining the show. I say fire him after this year. He's had two years, and it obviously isn't working.

Also, how did I miss the story about Christian Laettner going broke and owing $30 million to creditors? I guess he was just as much of an asshole off the court as he was on the court.

I'm down with this.

I would watch a feature-length film adaptation of Dikembe Mutombo blocking everything and laughing robustly.

Get the Coen Brothers to write and direct.

Maybe the only commercial I find amusing every time.

2013-03-20 06:51:22 PM
Those commercials are a decent premise that gets dumb/grating/commercial (duh).  But, the Mutumbo one, as mentioned in this thread, kills it.

Yeah, um, apparently they are  sick. My best friend's sister's boyfriend's brother's girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who's going with the girl who saw the Nuggets beat the Thunder in OKC last night. I guess they might be pretty serious about this basketball thing.

Seriously. As a man who hates TV, I would subscribed to the Dikembe Mutumbo Blocks Random Items hour every night.

Dikembe's ad is as good as the rest of that campaign is horrible.  Farking witches and mandolins.

Bonanza Jellybean: whatever happened to Arvydas Sabonis?

He had a heart attack in 2011 so I'd imagine he's taking it easy somewhere in Lithuania.

I would say that until I remember all the damn gecko ads.

I think it's kinda awesome that Dikembe Mutumbo is so universally loved.

2013-03-20 08:01:49 PM
Rafael Araujo - Araujo is not listed because he is retired, but because he was. The man now known as Babby Araujo, been back in Brazil ever since leaving the NBA, retired from the game in March of last year and expressed his intent to write a book.

If he can explain how in the hell he got drafted 8th overall and how it can be duplicated it would be a bestseller.

Also put me down for a Dikembe Swats Your Moms Weak Ass Trashbag Throw show.  In prime time.  Every night.

It's as if he drew mankind together by slapping the hell out of things.

Weird. Just saw a "news" report (Inside Edition or something) talking about how Adrian Dantley is working as a crossing guard for $14,000 a year. Not because he needs the money, but for the insurance because he's basically cheap.

Also, does remembering Dantley make me old?

Yeah, the first time they ran, they were funny.  The next million times, not really.

The Dikembe one, though? You could run it on a 24-hour loop for the next 6 months and I'd watch almost every second.

That's the thing: even though 99% of Geico's ads get old quickly, the Dikembe one never stops being enjoyable.

This is why I'm more than okay with a Dikembe Mutombo TV show and/or movie and/or live theatrical production.

It should be improv. Audience members can shout out random things for Dikembe to block, and he'd do it with a different finger wag or maniacal laugh every time.

It's Dikembe's world, we're just lucky enough to have our things swatted away in it.

There's a pretty interesting article on deadspin.com about it and they have a video of him in action as a crossing guard.

Also, Dikembe Mutombo had the most awesome line of sneakers that young Thunderchunk had ever laid eyes on.

I can truly think of no better way for the Heat streak to end than them getting crushed by an Irving-less Cavalier team. The lulz would be high.

For some reason, the restraining order trumps my brilliant ideas.  I don't know why he's rejecting my marketing ideas: "Can Dikembe block the anvil about to drop from the ceiling? Will he reject rapid piranhas with laser beams on their foreheads? Will he have any fingers left to wag his finger? There's only one way for you to know."

I dunno, I guess he just doesn't want to be a modern-day Houdini.
