Rev. Skarekroe: Snap.
Too bad you got fired for daring to claim that Rush Limbaugh is not the head of the Republican Party.

I'm not so sure. They've been trying to push back against them in recent weeks. I think the derp brigade is knowing this and fighting tooth and nail and cranking the rhetoric and threats to primary anyone, regardless of how conservative they claim, if they do anything anti-derper.

the civil war is still going on, and the establishment is trying to have their emancipation proclamation with this immigration reform bill to completely screw over the tea party

CPAC decided to feature Sarah Palin and didn't even extend an invite to Christie, who is easily the most popular republican in America right now. If this is a civil war, I would say Richmond has been overrun, and Atlanta is burning.

This is not the first time he's said this. When he said it before, he was accused of being a traitor and calling Republicans racist. They drummed him out as head of the RNC for saying this.

He still hasn't learned: You can never even dream of telling white people the truth.

I'm gonna go find me a white man and lie to him right now.

Republicans have a two-pronged strategy for victory: get the Mexicans to self-deport, and get the blacks to self-disenfranchise.  Bam, Republican victory in 2016. Book it, done.

What are you going to do?  They just aren't cottoning to Ted Cruz.

cottoning?

It'd be nice if they actually tried to find a legitimate latino voice from the south west who wasn't cuban and has more standing then "tea derper who won the senate seat" that you have with both Cruz and Rubio

Dude, didn't you know that Cubans represent all brown people? They are one group, united, and all the GOP has to do is prop up one brown face. Problem solved!

It seems more and more that the republican party is trying to step in two different directions at once and both feet are off the ground at the same time. I feel a painful split coming on. Groin cream at the ready!

Listen, as soon as Latinos experience trickle down, they will have no choice but to join the GOP.

Just need more tax cuts to get that going.

This article argues that the Teaparty is dead.

FTA: Today, the membership page for the caucus is defunct. The caucus hasn't met  since July 2012; it has posted no news since July 2012. In the press, "Tea Party caucus" has become an offhand way to refer to conservatives. In her  speech to CPAC, which included a typically Bachmann-ian error about how much TANF money is wasted on administration, Bachmann didn't mention "the Tea Party." But the new relaunch date for the Tea Party Caucus is April 15, and according to Bachmann's spokesman, "the main purpose of the Tea Party Caucus is to listen to Tea Party leaders and activists, not be a mouthpiece for the Tea Party."

Bachmann is crazy even by Tea Party standards.....

But we must protect the integrity of the vote because it is under dire threat from massive voter fraud and intimidation!!!!

wait, I think we screwed up the metaphors. The tea derpers are playing the confederates, so if they're being focused on at CPAC, then I think they just fired on fort Sumner?

the rational, moderates of the party (Christie, Huntsman, et. al) are the northerners

Five studies on the Color-Blind Racial Attitudes Scale (CoBRAS) with over 1,100 observations provide initial reliability and validity data. Specifically, results from an exploratory factor analysis suggest a 3-factor solution:Unawareness of Racial Privilege, Institutional Discrimination, and Blatant Racial Issues. A confirmatory factor analysis suggests that the 3-factor model is a good fit of the data and is the best of the competing models. The CoBRAS was positively related to other indexes of racial attitudes as well as 2 measures of belief in a just world, indicating that greater endorsement of color-blind racial attitudes was related to greater levels of racial prejudice and a belief that society is just and fair. Self-reported CoBRAS attitudes were sensitive to diversity training. -- (doi:10.1037/0022-0167.47.1.59)

Among 342 white college students, we examined the effects of social dominance orientation (SDO), right-wing authoritarianism (RWA), and racial color-blindness on modern racism attitudes. Structural equation modeling was used to test the indirect effects of SDO and RWA on modern racism attitudes through color-blind racial attitudes. We found strong indirect effects of SDO and RWA on modern racism through racial color-blindness. We did not find support for an alternative model, in which we tested racial color-blindness as a moderator of the effects of SDO and RWA on modern racism. Findings suggest that highly dominant and authoritarian white students endorse color-blind racial attitudes, although likely for different reasons. In turn, this predicts their modern racism attitudes. These findings indicate racial color-blindness is important to address as part of anti-racism education. -- (doi:10.1080/00224545.2012.700966)

Pretending to be color-blind about opportunities neither justifies nor excuses color-blind indifference to outcomes; believing ethnic minorities will be blindly indifferent to the bigotry involved seems to fall somewhere between delusion and folly.

Steele said the RNC's autopsy of the 2012 election does nothing to address the substantive reasons why the party fails to connect with minorities, highlighting voter identification laws championed by many Republicans, including Priebus, that disproportionately affect black voters.

Don't worry, Mr. Steele. Marco Rubio has assured everyone that they don't need any new ideas to reel in the Latino voters at the CPAC.

tallguywithglasseson: Wow. Impressed he said that out loud. He is still a Republican, right?

There are cracks in the ranks. Between immigration reform and marriage equality, it may split off sections who are going to be faced with either disenfranchising themselves essentially by supporting candidates who have ZERO chance at election, or supporting candidates that will simply ignore their DERP. Either way, the party will reform, but it's going to be a slow process.
