The story fails to mention the second part -where Wil fulfilled her longtime dream of having sex with her celebrity crush... but then that may dispate some of this dust.

Wil signed something for me at a car show back when he was still on ST:TNG. He was a very friendly down to earth guy/boy. He said for everyone to write to the producers and tell them Wesley needs a phaser. PEW PEW PEW.

Went to GenCon in 2012 and got Wheaton's autograph (yeah, I had to pay for it - don't care). The guy was a good dude and seemed legitimately interested to meet a Farker.

Wil probably greenlit this headline.

It's funny that celebrities are usually such dicks that when someone meets one who acts like civil human being, it's like big news.

Only for about 15 seconds. Warp Factor 9.5, Mister Rusher.

Almost went to MegaCon this weekend to get a group photo with the cast of TNG, but at about $360 I just couldn't justify it. That got you one 8X10 and no autographs. If you wanted a digital download of the photo, $10 extra. Are you kidding me? They also had a weekend Star Trek package for about $850 that included the photo op and autographs, but you still needed to buy a separate ticket to the TNG event on Saturday night. F that.

Got-damn. I never really got what the big deal is with autographs. A photo would be kind of cool I guess but not for that much dough.

People still give a fark about Wil Wheaton?

2013-03-20 01:51:57 PM
Good job, Wil.

Signing a picture for her just seems...  I don't know...  kind of small?

Is that weird?

I'm sure she was geeked beyond geeked about it, and it's great that she got something signed.  But, man!  Someone goes through all that, Wheaton should at least swing by her house and babysit or something so she and her husband can have a night out.

Maybe autograph the kids?

God that pisses me off.
What's worse is the places that don't even offer a digital copy option, even for money. It's the second decade of the 21st century ffs. You even took the photo on a digicam. If you don't want to risk putting a strange storage device into your system, send a farking email or something.

I've met that lady.  She gives that same frickin' letter to everybody.  When I was working as a bagger at Ralph's, I normally didn't carry groceries to the car for people but she suckered me into it with that little gem.
The next week when I saw her hugging and crying with my buddy Steve in the produce aisle, just before he ran to the back and grabbed two heads of the freshest lettuce, I felt very used.  Eff that bitach.

Nope. He doesn't frequent Fark anymore. I believe there was a particular thread that was the cause, but I wasn't in it / haven't seen it, so I'm still unclear as to what exactly was said that he decided to leave.

Don't have a linkie, but I'm pretty sure he strayed into a Politics thread and the trolls chased him off. I don't blame him...it's weapons-grade stupid under the Politics tab

Only reason to ever go is to troll. I don't troll, so I typically don't go. It's hard to even drop a random joke in those threads because people are too serious and uptight and fail to see WYDT.

Wil used to host weekly poker tournaments on PokerStars. I ended up on his table one week and actually knocked him out of the tourny. It was interesting to read his blog about that hand and the other hands leading up to it. You get to see what impressions you gave to an experienced player - it changed the way I played in future. I discovered Wil had a good read on me even on the times when he decided not to risk calling my bullshiat ;).

I sort of suck at poker. I think I have too many "tells" or something. I'll clean up in blackjack every time to the point of almost getting thrown out (as long as I bring enough cash, blackjack is a marathon, not a sprint). But I've lost my ass in poker before.

I think the jerk offs on those TV tournaments who wear dark glasses to hide their tells should be at least as against the rules as counting cards.

If it changed the way you played in the past, that would've been impressive. ;)
