Animal and Plant Health Inspection agency guy.

In the internal email, Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service official Charles Brown said he asked if he could try to spread out the sequester cuts in his region to minimize the impact, and he said he was told not to do anything that would lessen the dire impacts Congress had been warned of. "We have gone on record with a notification to Congress and whoever else that 'APHIS would eliminate assistance to producers in 24 states in managing wildlife damage to the aquaculture industry, unless they provide funding to cover the costs.' So it is our opinion that however you manage that reduction, you need to make sure you are not contradicting what we said the impact would be,"

So basically, federal agencies are being told to make the cuts have as great an impact as possible, so Obama looks good in his dire warnings. Farking sickening.

It's funny that people think "Obama" "chose" to release these people. The whole problem with across-the-board cuts is that nobody gets to pick or choose.
Thanks a lot Boehner. (voters)

sodomizer: Liberal narrative: "budget cuts forced us to release all these dangerous immigrants who are also criminals!" Media repeats it exactly, surprise surprise.

Reality: budget cuts mean you can choose to lop off expenses anywhere, and even if you do decide to release jailed immigrants, you can release the ones who are not also criminals.

As usual, this is government acting like a petulant child. They're mad that their budgets got cut, so they'er going to do whatever they can to hurt the taxpayer so that (they hope) the taxpayer will just cry uncle and re-approve a huge and sloppy-fat budget.

Liberalism: a mental disorder spread through self-pity.

This dreck made me laugh out loud...

3StratMan: You know how we know the whole "prisoner release because of cuts" thing is nothing more than scare tactics and a political move? Because, apparently, illegal immigrants are the only ones being released. I guess there are no American citizens that are locked up that could be released at all.

Its a matter of dept budget. Realeasing state prisoners doesn't help lower the federal dept of homeland security budget.

Also, yes, ALL of these (previously) detained were considered a flight risk, or a felon.  Otherwise they wouldn't have been in detention while awaiting their court hearing.

lack of warmth: I am pretty sure that detained illegal immigrants are released across the border as per SOP.

No, these were illegals awaiting deportation proceedings   In other words, they already were in the process of being deported when they were released.   And as for SOP, we can't actually deport someone without a lengthy court process and a LOT of hang wringing and gnashing of teeth.

Illegal immigrants not immigrants

You also forgot to mention that the release included felons who have committed serious crimes.

The budget is still higher than 2011... can someone link the 2011 articles of mass released? Surely they happened then.

Think of the good they will do for the economy.  That's like 12 jobs filled that us lazy piece of shiat 'Mericuns don't want to do.
Plus if they make 22$ an hour, it's that much more money going into the economy from some magic black hole that isn't going to get passed on to us in the form of 20$ a gallon milk.  Win win....

He probably got a massive boner because it means there'll be more immigrants on the streets that he can dominate.

Isn't immigration a federal problem while Joe is a sheriff?
He can complain about them not doing their job, but its their job to not do.
