Meth makes you into a giant walking asshole.  Nothing matters but getting the drug--nothing.  Wherever it is, crime rates go way up, so if you thinking it is "someone else's problem, you're wrong.

Yeah, same here. I don't have any desire to try meth, but geez, if it's going to be around (and clearly it is), could we just legalize and regulate amphetamines so that people aren't smoking whatever some guy that got a C- in remedial high school chemistry cooked up in the trailer park?

BarkingUnicorn: OneFretAway: Maul555: you trolling the pot heads subby?

Came to point out that this kid is a tweaker, not a stoner.  Get your nomenclature correct, Smitty.

Came for stoner indignation, leaving validated.

You're fooling yourself, OneFretAway was merely being pedantic, not indignant. Subby failed miserably.

It's not because of the tweakers.  It's because of the asshats in Washington who pass stupid laws by claiming it'll stop tweakers from getting their fix.

vudukungfu: spentshells: I'll agree that you shouldn't have to pay for it though but someone has to because jail has no shortage of meth

Right, they need to totally reform that whole process.
Like I said. They don't need TV or hot meals.

They certainly shouldn't have access to drugs.

Well, jailhouse drugs are usually pretty shiatty.

Please produce to strongest most pure meth possible and give it away free to all who want to do it. hand it out on the courthouse lawn. Problem fixed

i will be nearby in a lawn chair drinking a beer listening to music (another one bites the dust) watching the problem fix itself.

vudukungfu: Little tweaker gets a 3 year vacation on my dime?
I say put him to work making little rocks out of big rocks.
He doesn't need TV while he's away and he doesn't need hot meals.
Let him think about what he did and how he let his family down.
Maybe he'll appreciate the finer things in life, like the ability to relax.
But don't let him rest. He can work on building up some character and learn a trade,
like making little rocks out of big rocks.

Not sure why what he chooses to do with his worthless life is any concern of yours.
No reason to be in jail unless he committed a crime that affected someone else's life.
Sound like he needs treatment for an addiction, I'll agree that you shouldn't have to pay for it though but someone has to because jail has no shortage of meth

But meth related deaths are far more entertaining.

I think maybe MDPV (found in many 'bath salts') has even meth beat, if we're going by pure entertainment value.

Prohibition of alcohol was a good example of that. How many people died drinking bathtub gin as opposed to commercially produced spirits?

I'm pretty sure that more people died in connection with crystal meth in the past few years than people did while drinking bad alcohol during the entire 18 years of Prohibition.

But meth related deaths are far more entertaining.

But pharmaceutical companies won't make as much money that way and private prison institutions won't have beds to fill justifying their gross budgets.
