UsikFark: $1.273... Million. Rounding is hard.
TheSwizz: Feel better about yourself, now?
mr lawson: wait one second!962 sites...in two years....in 730 days?not gonna happen1.3 sites a day?
eldie: If I became wealthy all of a sudden and could take a year off from work or retire from work, this sounds like a grand adventure. I would definitely partake in this trip.
demidog: Sure! I'd love to go around the world in two years and get 1.2 million.*reads article*Oh... never mind./been drinkin'
nburghmatt: yeah, if i was super rich, this sounds a lot cooler than buying a big boat or something.
jadeheart6: So if I used an American Express Centurion (Black) Credit Card with no limit and just decided not to pay, I wouldn't mind screwing my credit up for 7 years. <smirk> At least I would have two years of memories.
gameshowhost: "A portion of the proceeds from the trip (£5,000) will be donated to Unesco."This generosity... it is monumental, if not unheard of./forgive me if that's got 'lousier than corporate donations to the united way' written all over it
wraith95: mr lawson: wait one second!962 sites...in two years....in 730 days?not gonna happen1.3 sites a day? Some sites could be quite close together, so 1 in the morning, 1 in the afternoon doesn't seem unreasonable. But depending on how it's set up it could be a quite grueling "vacation." What happens if you just want to dick around for a few days?
Farxist Marxist: jadeheart6: So if I used an American Express Centurion (Black) Credit Card with no limit and just decided not to pay, I wouldn't mind screwing my credit up for 7 years. <smirk> At least I would have two years of memories. They'll haul you off the ship after 45 days a beat you with a pipe until your kidneys bleed.
Smackledorfer: UsikFark: $1.273... Million. Rounding is hard. What is wrong with truncating?
Bucky Katt: Give me the cash and I can do better than that.
neongoats: I mean, it sounds like a sweet trip. But couldn't any decently high end travel agency book you virtually the same kind of crazy trip for a lot less? Also, that huge pricetag and they can only hook up UNESCO with 5000lbs ? Sup wit dat.
drxym: 962 sites in 730 days is a ludicrously short amount of time to spend at each one and involves almost continuous travel - not just on aircraft but potentially hours every day to reach a site, to travel onto the next stop, often through inhospitable country, squalid towns and pothole riven roads. Even if some sites are close together, or some are ruins barely warranting a 10 minute stay, it's still almost continuous travel. How could you possibly appreciate anything in this trip? How long before it all becomes some ordeal rather than something wonderful? Frankly it sounds like a stupid idea that only a rich masochist would contemplate, or that a travel company would propose to gain some free publicity.
C18H27NO3: I think I could find better ways to enjoy my time for $1,744 per day.
