Yes, because career criminal politicians with backroom connectiions to the mob, the unions, all the way down to animal control have done such a great job so far

I doubt that he would be as bad as Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Yeah, against Corey Booker.

Wonder whose vault he got the money from...

I wouldn't worry yet. His campaign account is just an empty vault.

Our photog ran into Rivera on the streets of NYC this weekend and asked him all about his potential Senate bid as a Republican candidate -- which he's been tiptoeing around the last few weeks.

Go figure.

Lorelle: I doubt that he would be as bad as Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger.

I consider myself quite liberal, and while not a resident of California, I thing he did a decent job. He had to deal with the crackpot legislature, which was probably his biggest problem, not to mention to insane referendum procedure California has.

No, he sucked. I am a California Resident. Jerry Brown is currently kicking ass.

Sure!

We should have a third house: Celebrity Congress.

Not that it would make anything better, but it'd make excellent reality TV.  Which is all that really matters.

Well, since the appropriate empty vault comments have been made, I suppose I'm left with saying that he'll get his nose broken when a fellow senator swings a chair at him.

But guess what my first reaction to Al Franken was.

Add him to the list

Fox News employees who've run for office as Republicans:
Newt Gingrich
Rick Santorum
John Kasich
Angela McGlowan
Pete Snyder
Keith Ablow
Geraldo Rivera

Don't make me campaign for Menendez even if every allegation against him is 100% true.

I'll do it dammit and I don't even live in that state.

So... probably quite good, with a reasonably fast learning curve making up for some initial errors?

I wouldn't trust Geraldo with a banana stand let alone a state.

2013-03-20 05:04:25 AM
I hear Mark Sanford won the Republican primary in SC, if not by enough to avoid a runoff.  So, cheating on his wife with a woman from Argentina.. not a disqualifier for office, perhaps.

2013-03-20 05:09:37 AM
He's the senator Jersey deserves, but not the one it needs.

Phil Moskowitz: I wouldn't trust Geraldo with a banana stand let alone a state.

Geraldo looked on live TV and discovered that there isn't always money in the banana stand.

Senate.. so that would mean Sen. Bob Menendez or Sen. Frank Lautenburg.

He'd fit right in with the Republicans.

It could be worse...

Senator/Governor/Congresswoman Snooki anyone?

At this point its probably an improvement.

If they aren't going to govern, at least they could entertain by throwing chairs at each other.

Lautenburg. His term runs out after the 2014 election and he has decided to retire for the second time.

You know, that is not a half bad idea.  Create a celebrity/reality congress that can be on the news shows 24/7 talking shiat and generally being the current idiots that they are.  Give people the spectacle that they want.  Then we have real Congress return to being able to compromise and bargain without having to explain to the 24/7 reality new shows what if the reason they are wearing black socks instead of brown mean doesn't really mean they are liberalconservatstooges bent on turning America into the a FacistCommieAtheioIslamaChristiaRepublicracy.

As bad as they are, and that's really bad, we have exactly the congress, senate, and politicians that we deserve.

They don't pass through a membrane from some other dimension. They come from American homes, American schools, and American churches. Garbage in, garbage out. This is what our system produces, and the system cares only for maintaining itself.

Congrats, gang. we did it. We got precisely what we deserve and now we can sit back and enjoy it as it eats our country into ruins from within, while they smile and haul buckets of money to offshore bank accounts.

Just because you work for Fox doesn't make one a conservative. And in NJ a republican is generally too liberal to be elected as a democrat in places like Nebraska.

The two we are currently stuck with here in NJ are so bad, a public execution is too good for them. Lautenburg seems to be like the evil old guy from Star Wars, but without the charm and Menendez wouldn't be qualified to eat his way to the top of a pile of shiat for fear of offending the shiat.

I suspect that if Geraldo got to Washington he'd find Obama emptied that vault too. IOU's not withstanding.

2013-03-20 10:24:31 AM
Geraldo Rivera is probably my number one person in the world who I wish I could punch in the face.

I even agree with the guy on some subjects but damn, something about him just screams "punch me in the face".

You SAID it. It's bloody sad is what it is!

Maybe in some other universe we finally got tired of this cr@p and asked for the Queen of England to take us back.

And there went my Alex Jones joke, straight out the window.
