NBC is really scraping the bottom of the barrel with these shows. This has to be a comedy based on that man who was comatose for 19 years, then wakes up but cannot form new memories. The parallels are too close to the reality and they are sick to produce such a show.

No, it's based on the book of the same name.

Which I find weird, because that book isn't particularly funny.

No, it wasn't. I didn't think it was terribly good, either. Microserfs was his best, followed by Generation X, although Shampoo Planet was decent, as was Miss Wyoming.

Nothing on NBC is, with the occasional exception of SNL.

Smart move. She can do better. I had high hopes for her on Pan Am, but they never seemed to know what to do with her, and she was barely in it. Making the show about the hot/dull spy sisters was lame.

I would fark her. I would fark her straight in the forehead.

I have never heard of the book, but the show sounds uncomfortably close to this:http://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-187920/Coma-man-wakes- 19-yea rs.html

This might be a good show. Liz Brixius wrote a bunch of episodes of Nurse Jackie.

Ughh, a Douglas Copeland book.

I could save them the cost of a pilot episode.

I seem to recall that CBC had some success with their book-to-TV adaptation of jPod ... But I was on various chemicals throughout that decade

I worry about next season's Parks and Rec. NBC will probably get over-involved since it will suddenly be the anchor for the Thursday night lineup. The Office and 30 Rock will both be gone (as well as Community, not that NBC cares about it).

Not for nothin', but I think Psych has so far re-found some of its magic.  The Sasquatch episode was pretty damned funny.

I'm so looking forward to the Clue reunion episode coming up soon. Too bad the two-hour musical episode is now delayed until some time after the main season ends.

this exactly - and fark Vincent Gallo in the ear hole, he can convince Chloe Sevigny to blow him but he can't get Ricci to stand up in the goddamn bathtub?

You guys are crazy, Ricci is very pretty. She lost too much weight and got a breast reduction but we'll always have The Addams Family Prozac Nation where she was at her peak.

I enjoyed it until it got super-preachy at the end.

But, yeah. Microserfs was great. That would make a decent dramedy.

The glory of movie stars that that they can always stay the same age in your head. Of course, it works best for ladies like Marilyn Monroe that have the decency to die while they are still hot, unlike say, Brigitte Bardot or Elizabeth Taylor, who had the poor sense to keep on living past their prime.

It's even better when you grew up with the older actress, and found out later that she was a knockout in her youth. When I was a kid, Barbara Stanwyck was the handsome old lady on the TV show  The Big Valley.About 30 years later, I saw  Ball Of Fire and  The Lady Eve.Grrrr.

So long as I don't have to look at him I'll always thank Vincent Gallo for Buffalo '66 and Ms. Ricci's tap-dancing scene.

The only complaint I have about recent episodes is that Sean is carefully walking the line between being amusing and just obnoxious. But it's still a good show.
