Wow.

Hey, the pool is pretty shallow at that end.

yeah just a bunch of out of control union thugs, right

if I'm ever in an 'angry crowd' situation you can bet your ass i'm gonna get outta there fast as I can.

That's why I avoid family reunions.

Heh... No shiat. This whole thing was nothing but an attempt by that dumbass Crowder to get some footage to drum up a little outrage (like the cretins who watch Fox News need any help with that) against "Union Thugs". Fox News viewers love a story like that almost as much as they love "scary black men" stories.

He got what he wanted and then cried like a biatch about it in the media... Took him like a week to even file charges, I think.

These people are so transparent it's comical.

Cletus C.: The Fox contributor guy who was punched voiced The Brain on the cartoon Arthur. The more you know.

Why do you want to ruin my childhood?

Classy

I'm surprised he isn't punched in the face on a daily basis, he has that classic punchable face.

The dude he accessed should press charges against the reporter.

Tomahawk513: make me some tea: So how did the guy end up on the ground, and why did he think it was the reporter? You can't tell from the video.

You're right, you can't tell.  In law, that's called Reasonable Doubt.

You can see the reporter had his hands up long before the push took place and was to the side of the direction the guy was pushed.  It is pretty obvious the reporter was not the one that pushed him down.

So I guess now if you get pushed, you can just slug whoever you want to.  I kind of remember this as a boyhood tactic, wasn't me and point at the guy standing next to you.  The look on the innocent guys face is priceless as he realizes that he is about to get pummeled by the one that just got tripped or pushed.

Well, yeah, he works for Fox.

I get that its his job to report the news but...the mood that crowd was in, he should have packed up and moved to a more secure location.  standing there and daring the crowd to come get him was beyond stupid.  he's lucky he didn't get killed.

How was he reporting the news in any way? He was there for one reason and one reason alone. To bait someone into doing something stupid, getting it on film, editing it for the "OMGZZZ, Union THUGS!!!" reaction.

Too late. Crowder and Fox News had a chance to make that case from the beginning, they chose to lie. They don't get to say "yeah well the union guy was still wrong" now. They lied, and had charges filed on the basis of lies. They must pay.

Did I read that right? As in you can't legally work certain jobs in the state of you're not in a union?

Here you go:

"A union shop is a form of a union security clause under which the employer agrees to hire either labor union members or nonmembers but all non-union employees must become union members within a specified period of time or lose their jobs." (from WP)

The alternative, where such agreements are prohibited, is disingenuously known in the US as "right-to-work." For some reason, a lot of people in Michigan wanted things to remain the way they were, with union shops permitted. Unfortunately, a majority of the Michigan legislature decided otherwise and the governor was happy to oblige.

And don't forget that the local law enforcement actually publicly called him out for not filing a police report after a few days of going on all the Fox shows to talk about how he was assaulted.  Only then did he decide to press charges.  I'd guess that someone in Fox's legal department finally figured out that claiming you were assaulted only really sounds credible if you actually, you know, file assault charges.

Let's remove the press/reporter/union/redteam/blueteam aspects of this for a second.

The guy throwing punches was clearly in the wrong, even if he had been knocked over because he doesn't seem to have any idea WHO pushed him and you don't have a legal right to just start whaling on random people becasue you got knocked down. Completely understandable, of course, but still not acceptable in current societal norms.

And I can see that Crowder had a legitimate cause to press charges for assault, because he got punched in the face repeatedly by some guy when he supposedly wasn't the one who pushed him. (From the tape you can't see who did, but since the guy seems to have fallen from behind and to the side of Crowder, it is less likely to have been Crowder, but who knows)

And the DA or the Prosecuter has a legitimate reason not to waste tax payers dollars trying to prosecute a case with little chance of a solid conviction.

If this had happened at a St. Paddy's day parade, it would be a complete non-issue, and so to some extent I am pleased to see that things are proceeding as they should

That being said, Crowder is an opportunistic, decietful little pussy who deserves a few more punches in the face for taking this incident and trying to advance his career by ramping it up as a hyper-partisan fauxtreversy.

No. This is nothing like rape. Please don't compare it to rape. Crowder is an unfunny idiot who was taunting people in a highly combustible political situation. He deserved what he got.

This kind of bullshiat is from the crowd who biatches about their stupid guns and how said stupid guns are a tool to shoot liberals and the government with.

I also find it highly amusing that the same crowd who crows about the Government putting itself in their lives is totally comfortable with the fact that the Government of Michigan took steps to nullify contracts between private businesses and labor.

Big Government Conservatism at work in its finest. Come for the guns, stay for the morbid rape comparisons.

mrshowrules: tenpoundsofcheese: The union thug was pushed by someone else or fell.
when he got up he started swinging and hit the reporter.

self defense shouldn't include attacking someone who didn't attack you.

whose the guy who is threatening to shot him after the incident?

Case closed.  Get over it.

Even the commentator admitted that there is no evidence that he was pushed by the reporter.
If you look at the video and where they each were standing, it is obvious that the reported was in no position to push over the big thug so he lands side ways.

So yes, it is case closed.
The thug slugged an innocent reporter because he was angry that he was pushed by someone else or he tripped and fell.
