No Monorail song?

Was this list sent here by the devil?

Done in one.

There is, indeed, nothin on earth like a genuine, bonafied, electrified six car monorail..

List totally fails with out Monorail. Was this list created by the current writers? Might explain their moronic omission.

2013-03-19 09:38:29 AM
Biatch about monorail all you want, none of those songs should have been excluded either. The show has had a lot of great songs, some will be left off.

New Orleans should've made the list, it caused actual controversy with the city.

See My Vest should've been top 3.

I would've suggested the entire score of the HMS Pinafore, but I believe that is not a Simspon's original song.

I'm kinda surprised it isn't blocked at my job.

10. "Capital City" from season two's "Dancin' Homer."
9. "High to be Loathed" from season 24's "Gorgeous Grampa."
8. "See My Vest" from season six's "One Dozen and One Greyhounds."
7. "We Do" (the Stonecutters' song) from season six's "Homer the Great."
6. "Baby On Board" from season five's "Homer's Barbershop Quartet."
5. "Ode to Branson" from season thirteen's "The Old Man and the Key."
4. "Everybody Hates Ned Flanders" from season fourteen's "Dude, Where's My Ranch?"
3. "I'm Checking In" from season nine's "The City of New York Vs. Homer Simpson."
2. "We Put the Spring in Springfield" from season eight's "Bart after Dark."
1. "Stop the Planet of the Apes I Want to Get Off" musical from season seven's "A Fish Called Selma."

The "High to Be Loathed" song from this season should have been left off for Monorail. Especially since it was pretty derivative of See My Vest which made the list.

/good season this year, couple of Simpsons quality episodes

WHAT? No "Talkin' Softball," "Monorail Song" or anything from "O Streetcar!"?  HELL. TO. THE. MOTHERFARKING. NO.

I thought "High to be Loathed" was pretty good, though a bit of a retread of See My Vest. I would put the Monorail songs on in its place, though I would bet they were leery of the list being almost uniformly season 1 - 9 entries.

I don't know. The whole "Your name it L.T. Smash, it's lieutenant Smash." "That's right. Lieutenant L.T. Smash." bit kills me.

No Monorail OR who needs the Kwik-E-Mart? It must be the new writers who picked songs.

Take my pen knife, my good man

2013-03-19 10:51:26 AM
Here's a proper arrangement:

10. "Who Needs the Kwik-E-Mart?"
9. "Cut Every Corner"
8. "Talkin' Softball"
7. "I'm Checking In"
6. "Everybody Hates Ned Flanders"
5. "We Do"
4. "See My Vest"
3. "Stop the Planet of the Apes I Want to Get Off"
2. "Monorail"
1. "We Put the Spring in Springfield"

Yeah, that and the three pronged recruiting strategy.
LT Smash: "Subliminal, liminal, and superliminal"
Lisa: "Superliminal?"
LT Smash: (opens window) "Hey you! Join the Navy!"
Carl: "Um, ok."

Quiet steps are what I take,
Sneaking in at noon.
Just in time for my lunch break,
Got my fork and spoon.
Time the cameras just right
Duck in the bathroom
Barney: Hi, Homer!
I'm still drunk from last night,
Got driven home, (passes Carl) I don't know by whom.
Some may say (beep beep), I don't deserve any pay,
But hey, I came up with '60s day

It was short but sweet:

Can't make friends with salad!
Can't make friends with salad!

I love that episode too. The whole  "what about "Everybody Hates Raymond""  bit at Mad Magazine is hilarious. Plus it must have been the first time that Justin Timberlake showed that he had any comedic skills.

SuperChuck: Missing

"Unexplained fires are a matter for the courts."

Hank Jr's greatest moment.  It was all downhill from there.

Yeah, I'm pretty shocked that nothing from "Streetcar" was on there. The "New Orleans" song and "Kindness of Strangers" were both gold, and Apu's falsetto in "Paperboy" and Flander's "You're puttin' me through hell-a" were frosting on an already awesome cake.

I think that was the first episode of Simpsons I actively hated and realsied that even if they would get better, it would never go anywhere near its peak seasons.
