Ishkur: I'm surprised no one's tried to revive the "80s super futuristic intelligent vehicle" genre. Airwolf, Street Hawk, Automan, Knight Rider.... it was a great time to believe in artificial intelligence.

frestcrallen: [www.dvdizzy.com image 300x225]One of the better plot devices of 80s TV. Too bad the show only lasted a season.
Dragonflew: Anyone remember The Phoenix?
Great Porn Dragon: Dragonflew: Anyone remember The Phoenix? Or to get really obscure, did anyone see the pilot for Wishman?...ohgod, I thought I was the only person who remembered the pilot for Wishman (I don't think it ever really went BEYOND the pilot, but I do remember it) :D
buckler: theflatline: [content.epixhd.com image 850x531]At least Remo Williams was based on a hilariously GOODseries of books.
Smoking GNU: Archie Goodwin: Does anyone else remember Space Rangers?/another vote here for Max Headroom too.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Space_Rangers_(video_game)
Pribar: The shows intro, to jog your memory

ds615: Says Lay, "We felt the original [show] didn't really have an origin story. It just kicks in with Captain Power, and you don't know who he is." There's nothing to explain who this guy is, and why he's a hero. And this is why this will blow.I don't need an origin story. If something happens later that I should know, flashback. Otherwise you're just wasting my time. You meet people every day. Do you know all of their "origin stories"? No, you accept who they are and move on. If you spend enough time with them, you learn more about them and their past. That is the right way to write shows and novels.
FuryOfFirestorm: For a show designed to sell toys, Captain Power was well written, ahead of it's time and dealt with mature themes such as war, death and free will. The only reason it didn't last very long is because "super early time slot + expensive production costs + low toy sales = cancellation". JMS had half of the second season all planned out before it was canned, so hopefully we'll get to see the material from his unused scripts in the reboot.

Any Pie Left: Seaquest DSV had some interesting ideas and Peter Delouise was awesome in it. Didn;t the teenage kid from that show die or something?
Nuclear Monk: Hmmm...there was one about a family that travelled to an alternate universe after going into a pyramid that I always liked. Can't remember what it was called though.
Shadow Blasko: Ishkur: I'm surprised no one's tried to revive the "80s super futuristic intelligent vehicle" genre. Airwolf, Street Hawk, Automan, Knight Rider.... it was a great time to believe in artificial intelligence.Well... I heard someone tried.. but I refused to believe it.
Weaver95: I remember this series. it was cheesy and very 80's but....it had a pretty damn good story line for a kids show designed to sell interactive toys. as I recall there was some VERY dark stuff in there.
