Why is a 5 year old anywhere near that shiat in the first place?

2013-03-18 02:51:14 PM
Why in the hell was a young child allowed to be around the dough rolling equipment in the first place?

I think I'll pass on the stuffed crust pizza.

I read the article hoping to learn more of this magic pizza machine. But alas, they merely meant bread kneading machine. For the dough.

How did this become world broadcast news.. how did this even get reported as local news. I've lived in no stoplight towns that wouldn't even consider this news. Hell, I might not even tell most of my friends if this happened around me.

You would witness a child getting his fingers mangled to the point where he needs to go to a hospital and would not even think this worth mentioning?

I hope that I never, ever get that coldhearted.

Child should be happy he isn't the pizza. I'll learn his name when he reaches age 12 or so and has something to say, till then, pizza slut!

Pretty sure it was a dough roller:

www.bakeryequipment.com

You drop a flattened ball of dough in the opening at the top. The dough is pressed between two rollers, flattening and elogating it. Then you turn the dough 90°, and slide it between the other two rollers. This flattens the dough further, and results in a nice flat, round piece of dough, perfect for a pizza.

Used those. they are kinda of good when you are hiring the kind of skilled labor that has no skills. Or when you are trying to shave every penny from payroll. Which would explain a lot about the food industry.

Dear knee-jerk reaction farker,

All neongoats wrote was that s/he didn't know how this made the news.  And neither do I.  Five-year-olds will do stupid shiat 24/7/365 when left unsupervised.  Ya wanna vent your righteous indignation?   Find out who was responsible for the kid at the time and take it out on them.

I've been expending considerable amounts of mental energy trying to NOT imagine what the British have done to pizza.

According to Douglas Adams, you can't get one delivered there =p

I haven't, but it's probably safe to assume that eel is a required ingredient of any British pie.

Exact same thing happened to my brother when he was 10.  Lost part of his left index finger.  I also got my arm stick in a giant mixer, but dad made up for it by letting us crawl into the oven to retrieve the fallen pans.

ANY age kid does stupid shiat. I had to dump babysitter after babysitter because "Well, I left him alone for just a couple of minutes..." always began their explanation. My response always began, "You left him ALONE?"

What the hell? It takes twenty seconds tops to roll the dough into a pizza. He'll it ain't even rolling, you just gently stretch it out.

Yes, but when controlling cost is important, you want every single pizza to have as close the minimum amount of dough possible used.  You also want every crust to be nearly identical.
