He got us the no-hitter, it's fine. Anyone expecting significantly more than 75 wins out of this year is foolish.

maybe they need to perform a soul sacrifice to speed things along

My goal this year is to see RA Dickey pitch and to see Johan Santana pitch at Citi. I'm thinking after the all star break.

They had to make the Dickey trade. You're going nowhere this year, take the big-time prospects over the 38-year-old pitcher. As much as I hated to see him go, that was an absolute no-brainer.

He ain't got nobody that he can depend on...

Santana will get over-played if he has Rob Thomas as his catcher.

Red Sox play the Mets in interleague this year?
*clicked schedule*

More like he blew his arm out getting the no hitter.  Was getting that one record worth the gamble, considering the surgeries he had prior to pitching it, and the number of pitches he threw to get it?

I gotta say yes. Nobody wants to be next to the Padres on any statistic.

You might as well put 5 or 6 of those meetings in the win column.

From a personal standpoint I'd say probably not but that's up to Johan. From a team standpoint, they weren't playing for anything particularly important last year and likely aren't this year either, with or without him.

Are you a mind reader? I brought up the 75 win number when chatting about their chances at work a few weeks ago. To be honest though, I think 75 might be a bit too optimistic at this point.

/solidarity in mediocrity! :-D

75 is the default number for a team you expect to be sub 500 but not historically bad.  It takes real effort to win less than 70.
