There is a strategy to it.

I used to play a strategy against the littlebopper:  I'd throw whatever beats what would have beaten my last throw.  So if I threw rock last throw, it was almost guaranteed that the littlebopper would throw paper, so I'd throw scissors.  Next round, I'd throw paper because he'd throw rock, thinking I was going to throw scissors again.

I wouldn't *ALWAYS* do that, because that would be just mean, but I did it often enough that it wasn't easy for him.

Finally I explained to him what I was doing.  He now uses that strategy against his peers, and it works against those with a relatively short memory.

No, that means that air and water both beat bowl as they become the bowl.

In the sense of "an individual exhibiting a sudden deviation from type beyond the normal limits of individual variation, usually as a result of mutation," yes.

Just throw scissors.  Nothing but scissors.

It's not a good strategy, but if you beat someone with it, you get to mock them.

For multiple throws? Nah. Running with scissors is never smart.

I always throw scissors first when playing against a woman, because they usually think men always choose rock first since it is the manliest. I then throw rock because women will then try to copy what you just threw. I win about 90% of the time with this strategy.

"Roshambollah Gambit" - I guess this is the one where you throw whatever would have lost the last round, on the assumption that most players repeat far less often than 1 in 3 of their throws?

The first time I heard about Spock, Rock, Lizard, I said it was stupid. Sure Spock defeats rock, but it was  Kirk that defeated the lizard not Spock. Clearly ,if they are going to spout Star Trek, they at least out to be a bit knowledgeable about the show they referenced. They tried to tell me the pecking order of the new game but they couldn't remember it. I spent thirty minutes trying to figure it out.

Then they told me it was a bit on some show I had never heard of before.

Don't be swayed by skeptics; Rock Paper Scissors is the oldest unmodified and widest-played sport in the entire world.

i found a flawless one. works against everyone i try against until they realize what i'm doing and counter it.

throw what they threw last round. even if someone doesn't cycle, they almost intuitively go with something that would lose to whatever they threw last.

There's not a lot of logic to it. It's kind of like on a boat with "Women and children first." I mean, why should they...

I dont know that I have a straregy that I could give a description of, but pretty much I read someones face to see what I think they are thinking.

How well this works depends on how well you can read someones pokerface, but I can read one well enough to get a damned gun pulled on me because someone thinks Im cheating, so it works quite well for me.

It is possible to win every time.  It's easy.

If they're going to play rock, you play paper.
If they're going to play scissors, you play rock.
If they're going to play paper, you play scissors.

It never fails if you do it right.

Or wear sunglasses, tell them you are blind, have them place their 'weapon' on your open hand to get them to believe you need to confirm their choice, then delay your choice by milliseconds after opponent committed.  Lower tech, but harder to find someone who doesn't know you can see.

Well that one was winning too many rounds of poker, but still the skill carries over.

The game existed years before it was mentioned on the TV show.
