What do Koreans have to do with Tacos de Papa? Unless you mean all that unholy garbage inside.

All you need is good salsa.

So we just have to stir up a bit of low rent racist shiat to get a Politics submission posted.

White people don't eat those things. There are some people who eat stuff like that, but those people are by no means a majority in any race.

But the Doritos Loco Taco is selling. Deep down, I know it's selling to those people. My friend made me try one. It had a lot of salt and tasted like I thought it would taste- like something from a gas station.

I only look at the Politics tab, so I wouldn't know if this kind of desperate trolling exists in the others. But yeah, even for the Politics tab this is some pretty weak-ass trolling. It's 4chan Lite.

The worst thing I ever ate in Japan was "Mexican food". It couldn't have tasted less like a taco without morphing into something else completely. First place I went to when I got back to the states after a year was the authentic Mexican restaurant down the road from my apartment. Tamales....

I'm going to guess you had it in Shinjuku on the ground floor of the Shinjuku Southern Terrace.

That place is terrible.

Hey...has anyone asked what this has to do with politics yet?  Can I do it?

BTW...farking mashed potato "tacos" are not Mexican food.  Sorry.  Can you pour peanut butter & jelly on some pasta & call it PB&J spaghetti, then claim that it's Italian food?  Of farking course not.  Just because something is folded into a tortilla doesn't make it Mexican food.  Fark this shiat...

How do Mexicans eat mashed potatoes then?  Rolled up in a burrito?  I don't think so.

I was in Japan back in 2001-2002. I looked and looked for a Mexican Restaurant and finally found one. Got to the front door and it said Mexican/East Indian Cusine. Opened the door and its a blast of curry hit me. Closed the door and walked on over to yoshinoya to get a bowl gyudon.

Try taking a glance at TFA and/or googling "tacos de papa". It would appear that, yes, mashed potato tacos are Mexican food.

The Doritios Loco Taco is probably the most valuable culinary advancement of the past 20 years.   They have successfully transitioned a lowly snack item into a legitimately epicurean ethnic dish.   Bravo, Taco Bell!   Bravo.

The weird things is that I have noticed a similarity between Mexican spices and East Indian spice blends. They are not the same, but they are similar. Both have spice blends with powdered chiles (although very different chiles), cumin, and coriander. Both use cilantro and both use an onion-garlic base for a lot of things. I brought a black bean soup to work one day that I had made with a recipe a good friend from Mexico gave me. As I heated it up, one of my co-workers who was born in India came over and asked me about it because she said it smelled a lot like a soup she makes. When I told her what was in the soup, she said the recipes were very similar.

White peoples be cray cray.

I love the one comment about how we adopted/appropriated/stole all ethnic foods through imperialism/colonization/genocide.

Like that was a bad thing.

What the fark did you think imperialism/colonization/genocide was all about?

It's about tasty take away food.

It's the morning after St. Patrick's Day, people.  Your expectations, though usually reasonable, are just a tad too high today.  In fact, it's a miracle that half the people here can even turn on their computers without collapsing on the floor into a booze-induced grand mal seizure.

In other words, I don't think anything will make sense today.

WTF kind of bullshiat link IS this? Crappiest page full of information I've ever seen...

As for the "mashed potato tacos", real Mexican food actually features potatoes in it quite often. What people call Mexican food in this country is actually Tex-Mex, and is an Americanized interpretation of true food from Mexico.

Fun fact: Potatoes actually originated in South America, which(For the geographically challenged bloggers out there) is REALLY close to Mexico!

Seriously, one of the best "tacos" I ever had was made by a Mayan busser at my old restaurant--purple potatoes, peppers, onions and hangar steak in a corn tortilla.  Heavy on the potatoes.  it was mindblowing.
