Accidental deaths of bats in spiderwebs were known as well, but were thought to happen very rarely

That's because them bat is smart, they use radar.

Yes. Spiders are everywhere. The next time you camp at Red River Gorge KY, shine a flashlight at the dirt at night. All those reflections are spiders.

Oh... banana spiders.  Florida is buried the things.  I've seen them build webs stretching from street lamps to the street and across streams.  Webs over 50' in length is quite common for them.  And it's not just bats - they eat birds too.

Sleep well, Florida.

I'm not only not a bat, I live where it's too cold for spiders half the year.

So I'll just add there are also 3 foot long bat-eating CENTIPEDES.

Have a good sleep, sissy bat sissies.

............yea thats their cars now..........just...just let them have the cars.  Call geico, i'm sure its covered.

A couple decades ago I had a k75s motorcycle, great bike, was living alone at the time and used it every day.   I had a spiderbro living in it for a while.  Every now and then I would be at a stoplight or something and this little half inch grey spider would crawl out from the cowl, wander around a lil bit till I revved the engine and it would scamper back under the cowl while I took off.  He was there for a couple weeks at least.  No idea what he thought of the arrangement but he got to eat bugs from all over the state.  Probably didn't even need a web, could eat for years off of what was on the front of the bike.

Just a few more brain cells and I swear spiders could be pets.

FTA: Recent studies of a web-building spider species (Argiope savignyi) and a tarantula species (Poecilotheria rufilata) both killing small bats led researchers to suggest that bat captures and kills due to spiders might be more frequent than previously thought. So they analyzed 100 years' worth of scientific reports, interviews of bat and spider researchers and the staff of bat hospitals, and scans of image and video sites.

Bat hospitals?

WTF?

/Do bats even have insurance? Farkin' freeloading vermin are what's making my health insurance costs skyrocket.
