low.dose: Cops were dicks, that jump was sorta impressive...

Yes, the cops were dicks but you gotta admit the kid was a dick too.

It's like when you were 5 years old and you stuck your finger in your kid sisters face and repeated "I'm not touching you" over and over.

2013-03-17 05:21:05 PM
Kid may have been a bit of a dick.
But the cops were completely dicks! Just because you can arrest some kid for pissing you off, doesn't mean you should. Also threatening to break his neck because of it? WTHell?
Never would have been able to even ID the cops if they had just sat there and busted the guys balls a bit.
And why didn't he just keep going? Why stop and engage them?

2013-03-17 05:22:07 PM
Cop:  "If you do that again..."

Kid:  "Sorry officer, I won't"

the end

But no, the little dipshiat *had* to come back and be a little dipshiat.  One of the things you learn when you're younger is that the cops have guns, handcuffs and a place to throw your stupid ass in if they so choose.

2013-03-17 05:25:23 PM
Hey, kid, a little advice.  Just because you can does not always mean it's a good idea.

/don't go poking the bear
//it's just stupid

2013-03-17 05:43:05 PM
+1 for the jump.

-10 for?????? WTF were you thinking!?

2013-03-17 05:46:26 PM
Sure, the kid shouldn't not have done that, but does it warrant an arrest? No.

Could a police officer answer this question: why are so many of your ranks complete dicks?

THIS
Of course, I think we need to remember what sort of personality type it requires to want to be a police officer in the first place, too

I personally know two. One is a decent guy. The other was a pussy and asshole in school who now has a badge and a gun to spread his assholishness without fear of getting his pussy ass kicked.

Cop threatens to break a guy's neck, notice he's being filmed, then says he's gonna arrest the guy and erase the video, then goes medieval on the guy's ass.  Sounds like standard operating procedure for cops...who won't get in any trouble...even though they themselves have broken numerous regulations.

I'm not a cop, but I think the answer would be that they're not all dicks. It's just that the dicks get all the press.

I once had a job where they hired off-duty cops for security. For the most part they were okay and one even told me stories that were somewhat shocking. Of course, the only time I actually needed the off-duty cop working security there to do something he was fast asleep and by the time I woke him up the 3 people that were causing problems (i.e. pissing on a mural in a museum) were wandering off The cop still could have done something - like arrest them or at least throw them out, but he just looked at me and asked what I wanted him to do about it.

By that point, I just said f**k it, I don't care. In retrospect I wish I had used physical force to wake the guy up and demanded their arrest and reported his sleeping on the job. But I did none of those things. That job was not my primary source of income. It was supposed to be fun.

I've worked with several police at festivals and events, and almost all I've seen work are superior diplomats with amazing restraint. These skills kept them safe, respected and not lowered to the level of the drunk and belligerent smartass trying to push their buttons. Those episodes are rarely video'd and uploaded to YouTube, though.

I was kind of hoping we would see a violent beating.

He asked you, (the person paying him while he was working off-duty) what you wanted to do. Your bat and ball, your ballgame.   You should have told him that you wanted them thrown out.  Instead?  cool...story...bro

It is seldom a good idea to mock someone with a badge and a gun.

2013-03-17 07:31:28 PM
Knowing the humour of cops, looks like the dude got what he wanted.

Who thought this would end well?

2013-03-17 07:32:37 PM
yeah the cops were dicks....but seeing some of the other videos from this douche....i kind of wish they would of roughed him up some

/not a big fan of the police
//but i really hate douches

So would it be wrong for a bystander to shoot these two piece of shiat cops?

Yeah those cops should be suspended at least. It's not illegal to be a dipshiat or talk back to a cop. He hadn't done anything illegal.

No need for evidence and you know how unreliable eyewitnesses are

True.  It's like all the days I didn't rob a bank or kidnap a kid, they didn't write an article in the newspaper about it.

Jack be nimble
Jack be quick
Jack get his ass beat
By an officer's nightstick

2013-03-17 07:40:47 PM
i would totally do that, film it, and get arrested if i knew the resulting lawsuit would get 2 horrible cops off the street or at least put on restrictive duty.  they are the real menace to society.

Krymson Tyde: Could a police officer answer this question: why are so many of your ranks complete dicks?

Because a lot of the cops identify their entire self being with their authority. Even the slightest perceived offense against this authority is anathema to their very being.   I don't agree with it, but it is a thing that is real.  (also, it is not a unique thing to cops)

The cops were dumb, but the kid was also dumb.

2013-03-17 07:41:52 PM
Should have shot the idiot, as a lesson to other idiots.
Youth of today have NO IDEA the meaning of respect.
Respect for elders, manors, police...

2013-03-17 07:42:23 PM
Kid is a douche and got what he deserved, especially when he attempted to run away.

2013-03-17 07:42:44 PM
It's sort of funny how many FARKers are 100%  against bad cops but 100% for every other sort of assholocity if it is done to cops.

2013-03-17 07:42:47 PM
So, why didn't the cop delete it?

Out of all the alleged "unnecessary arrest" threads here on Fark, I find it impossible to side with the parkour guy in this one.

Let's be honest with ourselves. If you were just sitting on a bench minding your own business, and some idiot was doing flips two inches over your head and filming it, you'd be very tempted to arrest the guy too if you were a cop.

2013-03-17 07:46:33 PM

pedrop357: So would it be wrong for a bystander to shoot these two piece of shiat cops?

The bystanders should have tackled them, and held them while calling the police while claiming these two assaulted an innocent person, made terroristic threatening, and it is all on video.

Popcorn Johnny: Kid is a douche and got what he deserved, especially when he attempted to run away.

That was the first thing he did that was illegal that I can think of. Fighting back was really dumb.

No I wouldn't. Being an asshole isn't a crime.

of course, the overwhelming temptation defense.

2013-03-17 07:50:18 PM
Kid got what he deserved. He did it to provoke a reaction and got a reaction. The cops in this case did nothing to provoke the kid prior to him action like a little brat. I would have done the same thing.

p51d007: Should have shot the idiot, as a lesson to other idiots.
Youth of today have NO IDEA the meaning of respect.
Respect for elders, manors, police...

Elders?  Like the super-entitled Boomer generation which has taken what the Greatest built and completely ruined it so they could have a comfy life at the expense of everyone else?

Manors?  Respecting a super-rich person's piece of land isn't important to anything.

Police?  Again, they haven't earned respect, they wield their authority and immunity without respect for anyone else, they call everyone else "civilians" even though they meet that definition themselves, and they arrest without compunction for how it may affect someone's life.

So get off that old trope of "disrespectful youth" it isn't fitting.

Tempted to? Sure. But would I have the power to arrest the guy, "delete" the footage (as an aside, were they really too dumb to erase the video or was it auto-uploaded or something?), physically assault the guy and kidnap him without getting in any trouble? Of course not.

I wouldn't arrest him, but I would fark with him.

Nice trick there kid, what else can you do? Can you jump over a car? Can you do a barrel roll? You think you're Evel Knievel or some shiat?

i've never seen a BroBible link before ... it appears to be one of those dreck sites that has 20 "bro-sites" and just bounces you back and forth between them whenever you click on a link. On the plus side, girls in yoga pants.

Thanks, kid, for making freerunning look like just another stupid thrill stunt.

"Just because you can do something doesn't mean that you should. Unless you're a cop, then go right ahead."
