(PennLive)   Think you have a nice beer can collection? It is probably nothing compared to this guy's collection   (blog.pennlive.com) divider line 29

I've never seen a true beer can collection (other than a party clean up) but I remember some pull tab chains that were unreal.

He has 83,000 cans with a wide variety of different shapes and labels.   I have only 24 cans, and they all have the same label.  For the next half hour or so, mine are still full.
My collection is better.

I wouldn't mind collecting these cans (if you know what I mean)

Jumping jesus... I thought I was doing well having 348 different beer bottles and cans! I now hang my head in shame.

I have about 2 dozen partially crushed Coors Light cans littering my kitchen counter - and I've only been collecting for about 14 hours.

A pity he decided to pose in front of some of the crappiest beers (Carling Black Label, Carlsberg) ever produced, which were then further degraded and contaminated by being put into cans instead of bottles.

Once had my tequila bottle collection up to 52 bottles. I loved the blue agave. Then I had to throw them out and got grounded from tequila.

Haven't ungrounded myself yet but I can tell you I still think about the tequila and my collection more than my ex.

Got about a hundred cans.

And then there was the fact that collecting beer cans when you're under age was viewed as "slightly naughty" at the time. "It's socially tame by today's standards," he said.

I think showing off your "underage substance history" is 3edgy5me in any time.

People are always rather impressed with my collection of several hundred unique beer bottles. His is a little bigger, but when I hear 83,000 only to see nonunique, I am a little disappointed.

I love little reminders that no matter how hard I try at something, someone else will always have a 10 year head start, and forever be better at it than I am.

Came for precious antique cans.  Leaving disappointed.

My dad still has my can collection form the 70's in his basement.  Not sure how many but they fit in 4-5 large boxes, so.... significantly less than 83,000.  Filled a wall though.

Stepped on a tab hard in a lake when I was 10 = first trip to the E/R for stitches.

I thought I was doing good at 4,100 cans. Summabiatch, that should be a museum. My favorites are my cone-top and church key cans.

CSB, when I was 14, I'd scrounge for cans anywhere. I explored the crawlspace of a hotel owned by my friend's father and discovered a couple dozen near mint cans of Natty Bo and Carling.

\All hail beer can collecty dude.

I had 800 and it took up a lot of space. I bet 4100 took up a ton! A few years back doing a remodel found an old Carling can almost mint. Still have it along with the Iron City tribute beer (full) to the Browns when Modell screwed Cleveland. Yes a pitiful collection I have now lol.

You no longer have your collection? That's a shame. My collection has survived 2 marriages and a good many friends who decided to open a full can. Trust me when I say a 1975 Royal Canadian Navy beer doesn't age well at all.

I found one of those cans in my grandma's basement not too long ago. I thought it was awesome when I found it. I was born after it was discontinued so I have no idea if it tasted good or not.
