Bontesla: When does Hulu Plus air new episodes? I assume that I can't watch it live...?

I think you have to wait a week.

Popcorn Johnny: Will Beth get naked?

Doubtful.

Methinks we're in for some serious disappointment as far as the Woodbury/Prison conflict goes. I think the writers are going to extend the storyline into season 4 and the rest is just setup. We're going to see what sides people fall on -- Andrea, Milton, and T-dawg et al. My guess is we're building to a finale that is the inevitable war multiplied by zombies with no clear winner.

The last episode had a lot of bonding between the two groups (Herschel & Milton, Daryl & bearded dude forget his name). I think there will be a lot of hesitation from Rick's group to go to war, with the exception of Merle and Glen. I don't think anyone believes he will sacrifice Michonne.

What will be interesting is when Rick is holding a gun against a 9 year old the Governor has equipped with an assault rifle.

I think we're going to see the conflict between Rick and the Gov resolved rather quickly given how quickly they're escalating it. There's not much they can do to slow it down aside from drawing out the episodes to cover a single day.

I think this episode will set up how the battle lines. We'll see Milton start aligning with Andrea and the Gov. get suspicious about hesitant Milton is becoming. Not sure if Milton will make it to the next episode or not.

I'm hoping Morgan shows up for the last stand but I don't think that's very likely...

Nope.

I predict they'll dick around most of the episode, then do something cool and interesting in the last 5 minutes or so that would've been FAR cooler if they'd spend more screen-time on it.  Rinse & repeat next week.  Then, for the finale, they'll dick around most of the episode, and do something interesting the last 10-15 minutes.

I am disappointed the Governor seems to be a step ahead of Rick right now. It's getting harder and harder to remember why anyone thinks he should still be a leader at this point.

What the hell is this show about? I keep hearing about it but it's just like some goofy horror show or something.
Is it worth watching and what channel is it on? What time does it come on cause I can't stay up too late.

Will Andrea be forced to skulk away and have to make someone a sandwich like she was last week?

2013-03-17 08:39:59 PM
I'm expecting more table-setting this week. The big battle will probably begin at the end of next week's episode, with the finale being mostly fighting and dying.

I really don't want the Governor plot to extend into season 4. It would end up being drawn out so much, it would male the farm look brief.

I think they both end up being better leaders than most of those who could replace them. I just don't see any of the main characters as being potentially decent leaders. Perhaps Maggie, but the rest are either indecisive, foolish (even more so than Rick), weak-willed, or simply too comfortable as followers or second-in-command type positions.

The Gov does seem to do a better job as an all around leader though. Innovative battlefield tactics, and the charisma and willingness to straight up lie to get what he needs from those he's leading, and make them happy to have him in charge. I mean hell, he brought back gladiator style games to keep the people happy. He might've been a blue collar worker pre-apocalypse, but the dude's read a book or two.

you know, I really didn't want to like this show. after all the hype I finally sat down and watched a few episodes of season 2, out of order and thought "MEH, what's the big deal?!" and never gave it a second thought.

the writing is poor. like, really poor. it just seemed like everyone was going nuts over it because "OMG A TV SHOW ABOUT ZOMBIES!!!!!!1111one"

a co-worker convinced me to give it another shot though - I had to watch it in order he said. well, I did, thanks to netflix and later other means. and now I can't get enough of it, despite the cringe worthy soap opera writing - it is addicting.

so far - the premiere and the first few episodes of season 1 - WOW!
the rest of season one was great as well though a bit short.
season 2 - I actually liked the setting on the farm - but the plot of getting there dragged on waaaay to long.
season 3 - much better than season 2 though I find the whole woodbury plot to be absurd. it's totally unrealistic in how a stronghold like that would be run under such conditions. (people going about their daily lives as if nothing had happened to the outside world? fark that noise). I wish we could learn more about the prison - which is a great location but I want to know how they are surviving there - so many unanswered questions.

/I am curious as to how the show will progress from here. will they ever leave Georgia? and who's mowing all the grass? it should be so tall at this point that you wouldn't even be able to see Walkers coming until it was too late.

In keeping with TWD's tradition of surprisingly killing off major characters the Governor needs to go.

He's way too one dimensional.

I also think that if Rick had kept to his character he would have killed him last week.

Plus this: 2 weeks ago the show ended with Rick etc driving back to the prison and last week it starts with the meeting between Rick and the Gov. WTF happened? I never saw any exposition as to how the meeting was set up.

geom_00: 1) Can these two lez it up already (KIDDING)

2) How long can a zombie survive without food?

They are apparently starving to death but extremely slowly. Heard this a few weeks back.
Plus there are always more zombies because they claim 'the virus is in us all' and is activated when a person croaks.

Personally I'd like to see something happen with scientists trying to figure out what happened - or did I miss that? - and what's going on in other countrys.

ExperianScaresCthulhu: NeoCortex42: ExperianScaresCthulhu: NeoCortex42: Brick-House: Andrea on talking dead? Does the mean she dies?

They've also had Maggie, Beth, and Glenn this season. The death couch has lost its power.

No way Beth survives this season (either alive, or traveling with Rick to the next doomed outpost). Her and Lil Asskicker and Hershel have gotta be ghost.
And Glen.....................................................

some of the spoiler pics aren't encouraging, but who knows.

Glenn's got a couple seasons left. I think Daryl's in for the long haul, too. Beth, Carol, Herschel, and Merle are probably on borrowed time, though.

Merle.... Merle....
Some great pictures out there regarding Merle.
His fans won't like them, but some great spoiler pics out there.

That statement is somewhat of a spoiler, you prick.

Mentat: Where are all of the scouts Woodbury supposedly has around the prison?

There aren't any.

2013-03-17 11:01:34 PM

PsyLord: Seth's argument is not valid since there is limited supplies.  You don't want a large group that you have to keep feeding.  That's probably why Woodbury kills just about everyone an steals their loot.

With enough people, you don't have to focus on everyone's energies on killing zombies, plus you can defend an area long enough to do farming, and that way you can task some with growing food and creating other needed supplies. Smaller groups limit your options, which is why the comic is showing society slowly start to come back together into larger and larger communities because they not only make defending against zombies easier, but it also allows them to stand against warlords like Negan. If the series follows the general plot path of the comics, it really becomes a story of civilization slowly putting itself back together after being knocked on its ass, with despots and kings cropping up along the way.

So we know that she's going to the prison.  But he's able to hunt her down so precisely?

Sure there is one road and I get it.  But in the middle of the field?  How many fields are there between Woodbury and the prison?

Am I the only one who thought that the field he chased her across looked like Hershel's farm?  Just from an angle where you don't see the house or barn?

Then finding her in the factory?  Way too easy.  Hell the smart thing is to go up and make it look like you went into the factory, then just keep heading through the forest.

Hell in all the surroundings of the prison, he sets himself in just the right spot to catch her at the last possible minute?

I'm thinking Milton is as toast as the walkers in the fire pit.

Here's how you manage the Zombie Apocalypse:

Doctors, Nurses, and fertile women get to focus on food production and asset management of survival necessities (medicine, livestock, children). All ladies go on BC until a long-term (>5 year) secure position is found. Axes, bats, and pikes are the preferred methods of defense. Arrows go to the Medic/fems on the inside.

Everyone else starts weapons and hand-to-hand combat training - ROMAN ARMY STYLE.  meaning that your crew can construct a defensible base every night. One person - who is used to handling authority - is given basically total marshal authority.

Everyone keeps their genitals to themselves.

The focus becomes finding a defensible area where food can be generated and water gathered for 5-10 years. This will, hopefully, be enough time to outlast the Zombies. If you are really up against 6 billion zombies you're screwed, but frankly, more than a hundred thousand zombies is pretty damn unlikely anywhere more remote than suburbia.

Oh, and the Baby Dies the day after it's born.

Rick has to decide weather to trade Michonne for Andrea next episode. Michonne volunteers to switch places to save Andrea. Merle should become a problem somehow in the next 2 episodes to keep him as the foil in the group.

Hershel reloads his shot gun in the back ground as Lorie runs out the front door looking for Carl as the herd of zombies attacks the farm. He pulls shells out of his pants pocket and loads the gun. I think there was another short scene in which he reloaded but I haven't gone back to look for it.

One thing that keeps bothering me is the sound effects for people walking. The thud their boots make is so unrealistic and obvious at points that its dubbed over it makes me cringe. It sounds at times like the footsteps made in a resident evil game. Click clack click clack.

How did Michonne get her Zombie boyfriends( jawess/armless zombies in chains ) back? I thought I remember them being sliced up in the first or second episode this season to keep them quiet so Merle wouldn't find Andrea and Michonne hiding in the woods. She apparently left them tied to a tree for 9 or 10 episodes? Or was that supposed to be a flash back?

rubi_con_man: Here's how you manage the Zombie Apocalypse:

Ignore it because it's not real. But I digress.

You've got a good idea with the addition of melee weapons, but you forget one thing: humans are GREAT at killing. In the original Romero movie, you've got all the zombies mopped up by the next day. That's what would really happen.

Humans exterminate threats with prejudice and cunning. Soldiers from any era would tear through zombies like a honey badger through tissue paper. It wouldn't be empty cities and masses of undead, it would be a blip in the history books of the night things were like that one movie.

Something that's VERY rare for this show. The only other one I can remember is the one with Shane trying to get a comatose Rick out of the hospital and Shane & Lori watching the military firebomb a city.

Of course this episode's flashback was almost completely useless. Did we learn ANYTHING new? Only that Michonne's walker pets were assholes when they were alive, apparently.

Great, another season I could have just watched the first and last couple of episodes and would have been 100% caught up, just like the farm season.

I really hate how Andrea acts like a five year old. Instantly trusts and believes any one with an air of authority and constantly drops her guard while out in zombie land. Just so... stupid. The sooner she dies, the better. I'm honestly amazed she lasted this long.

I really wanted to like this episode; after all, the episode with Lennie James was awesome.  But yeah, the zombies in the field were a bit...tired.  The scenes were absolutely devoid of tension.  The instant they showed her alone in a field, I said to my GF, "And now, the zombies; they come out of nowhere.  They are like the chameleon."  And when Andrea leaned up against the tree.  "Of course a zombie is coming up behind her.  Get it over with."

Overall there were plot jumps that seriously affected the pacing, and some characters are flip-flopping more than a politician.  Two episodes ago, Milton was loyal enough to the Governor to betray Andrea without question.  Tonight, the opposite was true.  Rick was unwilling to hand over Michonne because he acknowledges that the Governor will kill her, and kill them all anyways without mercy.  PLOT POINT farkING RESOLVED, MOVE THE fark ON.  Nope, we get sixty more minutes of should we/shouldn't we, and it looks like they hand her over anyways.  Then they probably go rescue her.

Inconsistent writing is worse than consistently bad writing.

2013-03-18 07:52:26 AM
And one more point--so in the span of about a week of TV time, Michonne and Glenn have both forgiven Merle enough to be willing to go off into the wilderness with him?  Really?  Not rhetorical, farking really?  I guess an asskicking and having to fend off a zombie while tied to a chair is forgivable.  As is getting shot just for leaving Woodbury and almost bleeding out?

This.  And completely lacking in all self-awareness.
"If you stay Milton, you have to stop looking the other way."  Gee, its not like you haven't been doing that since the day you first got there when charming Gov with that Southern Accent you seem to dig so hard took a liking to you.

Plus: her defending her character on Talking Dead was farking stupid.
1)  With reference to the question of Andrea divulging info about lil'ass kickers origins: Really?  You honestly think Andrea didn't blab to Gov about the baby and the Rick/Shane/Lori drama?  Andrea intensely disliked Rick at the time and thought Shane should have been leader.  Then she got left behind.  There is zero love lost there at this point.  Of COURSE she blabbed.  They are no longer her friends.  Think like your character thinks!  (or doesn't in this case...)  You need to embrace the inner naive, self-important narcissist that is Andrea.  I mean she told the Gov the prison people were starving and scraping by.  Thanks for the damage assessment on your friends you harpy.
2)  With reference to communication between Andrea and Michonne:  I can't believe she blamed them separating on Michonne's lack of communication.  Yes, I get that Michonne should freaking talk more.  Obviously she has the brains and working jaw to do so.  But putting the blame on Michonne for Andrea not tagging along?  That's ridiculous.  As much as Michonne should have just told Andrea about the specifics she found, the Actress not addressing Andrea's hour-long head over heals fall for the Gov and all his stories after months of tagging along with Michonne far eclipses anything Michonne didn't say.  If that's what communication was between them then the dozens of incidents that took place with non-verbal cues before/during/after should clue Andrea in to Michonne's thoughts whether or not she spoke them all.  Michonne kept her stupid ass alive for months and brought her back from the brink, you would think Andrea would continue to recognize those instincts...

Couldn't agree more.

Plus, him handing over Michonne would be completely outside of Rick's established behavior.  He went back to save Merle, putting how many people in the group in additional danger to attempt to recover someone with an extremely low chance of survival?  How long did they putz around the woods looking for Carol's daughter, putting all the searcher's at risk?

Rick has had this calculation before, and it wasn't even as obvious in the cost/benefit ratio.  Rick has shown he will sacrifice the safety of the entire group in order to save/recover one of their own in every occasion that decision has cropped up in the show.  Now hes just going to hand someone over to obviously unpleasant end, for "a shot" at something he knows the gov will betray him on.  Plus, Michonne is his second most valuable asset (after Daryl).

If the debate carries on longer than the first five minute episodes and is beyond "stop being such a naive dumbass rick and help me make some damn traps" then next week will be extremely irritating.

2013-03-18 08:27:54 AM
The only excuse for Rick even considering handing her over is sheer exhaustion. Even then, I think it's waaaaaaaaaay too out of character for him to even consider it.

Popcorn Johnny: Most of you biatching about how they've drawn out this entire season on the prison would also be biatching if they had covered the entire prison plot line in a few episodes.

To be honest, I would've liked the first entire half of the season dedicated to turning the prison into an actual home, with interspersed Morgan-like episodes.

Then you take the second half of the season, and compress all of the Woodbury war stuff into that. All these shots of Rick or Glen doing tower lookout duty would be a lot more interesting if the prison yard was a fully grown farm of food right now...with the feeling that it's really dangerous to go out and harvest it.

Other random notes;

I'm still holding out hope that Morgan is the one who set the zomb-be-que pit on fire, and that Milton just quietly approved of it when he heard about it. Which would make the eventually death of Milton at the Governor's hands much more interesting.

What will probably happen is that it will be revealed that Merle actually IS a Governor mole, even though that never made any sense back when it was hinted at, and makes absolutely no sense as it stands right now. But you know the hack writers on the show will think that it's an awesome twist to end the season, lean back, and light a cigar in celebration for thinking of it.

2013-03-18 09:17:46 AM
Everything after Andrea lept the wall was the most sub par stuff this show has ever produced. I mean seriously, Andrea is kicking shiat around in the warehouse? REALLY?  You survive a year in this hell hole of a world and you can't NOT look down for 2 seconds? I don't pity her for getting caught.

They don't even explain HOW she got caught. Did he run after her? Drive? If he drove, why not try and steal the truck then? If the keys aren't in the ignition you have a big ass knife, SLASH HIS TIRES DUMBASS. Check for guns in the truck. ANYTHING but "Ok, well I'm gonna leave now". If he ran, then how the fark did he drag her back to the truck in less time then it took to get from the wwarehouse to the prison?

I pity the people who will die or get maimed trying to rescue her dumb ass eventually. I think the actress for Andrea is saddled with an AWFUL character who last night was also written AWFULLY. Seriously, this is the stuff I tell people The Walking Dead DOESN'T do. The Jason Vorheeves "We won;t explain how he is faster then you, you're just farked" stuff.

1 dud in an awesome season is fine. I will be happy when we get back to buisness next week.

2013-03-18 09:35:41 AM
Well, this just confirmed what I was afraid of. They are going to stretch this damn Gov plot into next Season.

They had a real good chance though right there, to wrap up Woodbury. Have Martinez and his crew assault as revenge, the prison fall most of woodbury dies in the attack, and  a smaller group treks out into the open road with Tyrese building to be second in command.

I thought they did it, really I did. When Andrea let the walkers out loose on the Gov I was like "Ohh shiat, they just wrote Lily there!" but nope, you ham fisted hacks in the writers department had to cave to the suits didn't you?

That would be pretty slick.  They're stuck up in the towers and can only watch their crops wither and die.  That would really make The Governor just that much more evil, and it would add to the hopelessness of it all.

But, I'm happy with this season, and I think they wanted to escape the mistake they made with Season Two and how nothing really happened while they were on Herschel's Farm.

Jim from Saint Paul: I pity the people who will die or get maimed trying to rescue her dumb ass eventually.

Andrea ran from Woodbury to the factory, then from the factory to the prison.  She was noticeably fatigued and slow moving on her approach to the prison.
The governor drove from Woodbury to the factory.  We don't know if he drove or ran from the factory to the prison, but it was less running than Andrea had done.  He probably spent a lot of calories fighting off those biters, but not necessarily as many as Andrea did.

So yeah, I'd say it's feasible that he caught up to her.

Jim from Saint Paul: Everything after Andrea lept the wall was the most sub par stuff this show has ever produced.

1 dud in an awesome season is fine. I will be happy when we get back to buisness next week.

So much this.  I was yelling at her to steal his truck and get away (if that was possible).  But do something besides get yourself caught.

Vodka Zombie: snowshovel: Then you take the second half of the season, and compress all of the Woodbury war stuff into that. All these shots of Rick or Glen doing tower lookout duty would be a lot more interesting if the prison yard was a fully grown farm of food right now...with the feeling that it's really dangerous to go out and harvest it.

That would be pretty slick.  They're stuck up in the towers and can only watch their crops wither and die.  That would really make The Governor just that much more evil, and it would add to the hopelessness of it all.

I wouldv'e liked to have seen that play out. The timing of this season has felt very uneven, with some events seeming to stretch out across several episodes, like Rick's unnecessarily long psychosis, and then some events are merely suggested but have important implications, like the time it took to drive back up to see Morgan.

The story arcs aren't as tight as they could be, and I feel like a lot of the little details, like the touches that made the episode with Morgan in it so damn good, have been ignored. It seems like the writers have sacrificed the tight storyline and a sense of measurable time for things that don't seem to justify those losses.

This was brought up, but not really discussed...

Was the governor bitten?

He looked like he was - holding his coat closed as he talked to people.  Or did I miss a scene that showed he definitely was/was not?  It's possible I missed something, my attention wavered a few times in that episode.  They should have taken some effects money from the BBQ shot and shortened the "chase Andrea around the warehouse" scene by about 10 mins.

For some reason I want to see as the season ender, Milton having the gov tied to the special chair while doing the whole does a zombie remember his past routine.  I take it as a given that the gov is bitten and will change some time in the last episode.  I just cannot see how you get Rick's group out of the prison and Woodbury in flames and that happen though.

snowshovel: Other random notes;

I'm still holding out hope that Morgan is the one who set the zomb-be-que pit on fire, and that Milton just quietly approved of it when he heard about it. Which would make the eventually death of Milton at the Governor's hands much more interesting.

How would Morgan even know that pit was there? He's still in his little world collecting and burning zombies in Rick's hometown. It was Milton, he finally got some balls and stood up to the governor...

What does it matter if he is bitten? It's already established that everyone is infected already. The worst he'll get is a likely life-threatening infection, without antibiotics. Which he could also get from being scratched. Am I missing something, or are those of you wondering if he's been bitten just not keeping up?

Now that I think about it, I think it was Morgan.  Burning zombies is Morgan's MO, and a little too hands-on for Milton.  Plus they already set up that Milton is such a horrible liar, he doesn't even try lying to the governor.  He would have totally crumbled under the "I already know who did it stare" but instead he just looked back innocently- not really Milton's style.  Plus, Morgan doing it would answer the question of how the BBQ'er got the truck and gas out of Woodbury without someone seeing him.

Yeah, the're definitely going to pull that.  Governor's bit but he'll hold on as long as he can to try and get his revenge.  We'll find out that he's bit halfway through next week's episode, then he'll turn towards the end of the finale.

During the grand battle for Woodbury, he'll showdown with Michonne face to face.  She'll beat him in hand to hand combat and be inches away from killing him when Rick comes to the rescue.  "That's not how we do things, etc etc."
That hispanic guy who's next in line for Woodbury enters the room so him and Rick stare each other down pointing guns at each other.  When he goes to help the governor back on his feet, Governor turns and attacks him.  Either Rick or Michonne acts fast and kills the Governor to save him.

That either leads to a new era of trust between the two groups or Woodbury thinks governor turned because Michonne killed him, not because of the bite.  We'll find out the answer to that next season.

A zombie bite doesn't turn you, but it does cause a very aggressive infection that "burns you out" in Morgan's words.  It's unclear if this is related to the zombie infection or if it's just a function of being bitten by a rotting corpse.

Or, are you asking if he drove to the prison?  She heard the car pull up while she was inside the factory and that's how she knew he was coming.
Whether she slashed the tires or not is irrelevant.  If she slashed the tires, he ran and caught up with her.

Jim from Saint Paul: If he ran, then how the fark did he drag her back to the truck in less time then it took to get from the wwarehouse to the prison?

How do you know how long it took him to drag her back?

Now, I am kind of impressed that he was able to find her near the prison.  She was tired and stumbling around and there were plenty of walkers in the area.  She would have looked like one of them to anybody who wasn't taking a real close look.  Really it only works if he followed her there on foot, and had been closing in on her for some time.

She's not particularly smart in the "camouflage myself as a zombie" department though.  Running across the empty filed before the factory was pretty much like setting off a signal flare.  She should have been smart enough to stay in the trees where she wouldn't be visible from the road.

They have established that being bitten is pretty much certain death, beyond the "it's just a dirty wound" level of infection.  If it was just a regular infection they could have just washed and dressed Hershel's wound and then taken the next few hours looking for antibiotics.  If the governor was bitten, it was probably on the trunk (which is bad) and 8-12 hours ago without attention (very bad).  So under the rules of TWD universe, it means he has a day to live at most.

Although I agree that it's a stretch nobody gets infections from regular cuts and scratches.  These people have gapping wounds and then plunge their hands into zombie guts, with no ill effects.  That's allowed in the rules I guess.

I figure the quick death virus/bacteria is only in their saliva, so you have to get bitten?

They've mentioned scratches as well, but I don't know if it's been established that scratches actually cause infection.

Things aren't making sense in your chronology here.  She couldn't steal the truck at the prison, because she was too busy getting her ass kicked by the Governor at that point.  And we know the Governor drove from the field to the factory, so there's no "if he drove" about it on that side.

She obviously could/should have slashed the tires on her way out of the factory, but we don't have any evidence that she didn't.  Nobody knows how the Governor got from the factory to the prison.  He just showed up there.

/ If she didn't slash the tires, my guess would be that it was because she exited the other side of the building and was more concerned with getting the fark out of there.  Not a good excuse, but feasible.

I tend to make things up in my mind to help or fill in plot holes.  I just assumed there was a large herd of walkers milling around his truck or in the area she exited and she decided to quietly slip away rather than draw their attention.  And by the time the governor got out they had moved on, or gone inside or something and he got his truck back.

I also assumed that besides the main road to the prison there is only one easy approach from the direction she was coming.  He got there first and staked out her most likely path.

I've always wondered about why people run away from a psycho killer in horror flicks.  In certain situations, sure.  Run as fast as you can.  The only problem with that is the psycho killer somehow uses a wormhole and gets in front of you and kills you.  So in situations where the psycho killer is unarmed, is wounded or is tired out from fighting off a zombie horde, I would stick around, sneak up on him, and stab him in the neck.

Which would have been greatly delayed if she had SLASHED HIS TIRES (at the factory... every point I have made about the truck is meant to be done at the *factory*).

They would NOT have moved on the prison without the Governor there.

And my whole point about it being poor writing is made by the previous guy who asks the question about typical horror flicks and the lame things that happen in them. Which is what the whole escapade with those 2 was.

But he showed back up at Woodbury with the truck still intact. Unless he is driving around with a bunch of spares in the back (which would actually be a pretty smart thing to do), then Andrea didn't slash anything. But I think it all comes down to Andrea still being a bit of a dumbass. She left the Governor fighting for his life and just assumed he was as good as dead, which by now with both Rick, and Merle coming back from certain doom situations is a stupid thing to do at this point. She should have disabled the truck if the Governor still had the keys, but she didn't because: Andrea.

Actually in the comics, Otis was routinely punked out and had his pride hurt to the point of dropping N-bombs behind Tyreese's back. So I think the writing is still on par.

I blame the comic for the precident of a character (Tyrese in this case) getting locked in a room full of walkers and surviving (in this case with just a hammer.) Which I guess in kind of ok once in a great while to establish your character as a bad ass but now Carol is living through it the only thing left is letting Judith fight off a horde with her rattle.

Yeah, I didn't want to bring that up.  "GAWD! Why didn't she slash THOSE TIRES TOO?!?!?!"

Maybe he keeps a stash of them somewhere and she doesn't know where the stash is....

See, now that would be a great outtake video for the DVD boxset:

*The Gov walks up to his truck, sees the tire slashed. He shakes his head and sighs. Next scene he is out there twirling off lugbolts in silence. He drops one. In full british accent "Bloody Hell!".

Also, I couldn't tell but was the bed of his truck covered up or open? That would explain how he could sneak Andrea back in (knock her ass out, put her in the covered up bed).
/I also love how crazy Rick convinced himself he was hallucinating and just went back to business as usual when Andrea got grabbed up at the end.

Yes but even changing one tire would take hours.  It is a standard in the show that if you do not move for more than 30 seconds when out in the open a group of walkers instantly apperates around you.  Take one lugnut off, kill a dozen walkers, take off your second lugnut, kill another dozen....

Did you notice the whistling. That's gonna be the clue that something still remains after the gov becomes a zombie.

Yeah, but that was definitely a "oh shiat I'm hallucinating again" look on his face.
I think he saw enough to recognize it was Andrea waving to him, then she was gone.

Wicked Chinchilla: Shakin_Haitian: Great, another season I could have just watched the first and last couple of episodes and would have been 100% caught up, just like the farm season.

I really hate how Andrea acts like a five year old. Instantly trusts and believes any one with an air of authority and constantly drops her guard while out in zombie land. Just so... stupid. The sooner she dies, the better. I'm honestly amazed she lasted this long.

Plus, how else would the Governor have known that info? A lucky guess? The only person who could've told him that info was Andrea.

Milton's not loyal.  Milton's afraid.  He went to the Governor to cover his own ass, not out of loyalty to the Governor.  Milton probably would be happy to just be left alone to do his experiments in peace.  Ain't gonna happen, but there it is.

As for Rick... yeah, Rick needs Shane to slap some sense into him.  Or Rick needs Ghost Shane more than he needs Ghost Lori.  'What would Shane do?'  Then do the opposite.  With conviction and vigor.

rubi_con_man: Here's how you manage the Zombie Apocalypse:

That shiat breaks down when it turns into a slave culture/might makes right culture.  And it woud do so fairly quickly :(

Well, let's compare how the two groups treated him...

The Governor/Merle tortured him, molested his girlfriend, and locked him in a room with a zombie.

The Vatos group fed him and introduced him to a bunch of nice senior citizens.

I know which one I'd prefer...

Just got done watching last night's episode. First of all, I think the flashback with Michonne was supposed to intimate to us her two pet zombies raped her before they were zombies, but it was poorly written.

The whole goddamn episode was poorly written. I'm willing to overlook and ignore a whole lot in an attempt to enjoy what's supposed to be relatively mindless entertainment, but holy shiat this show is getting bad. Even the obvious shout-out to Die Hard felt forced and out of place. Though it was worth it for the "Why is the governor so mad at windows?" "He did get his eye stabbed out by a glass shard" exchange earlier in the thread. That shiat was funny.

And just a few episodes ago it was ridiculously good, what the fark is going on over there? They'd better do a really good job on the next two episodes and clean everything up so we can move forward for the next season or I'll...I'll...watch it anyways because there are no other zombie shows and I don't give a damn about reality tv or catching the murderer of the week on all those police procedural shows.

I think a few episodes ago they had the benefit of not having to advance this out of control, cumbersome Woodbury v Prison plot.  Just a nice, self contained tale that had the added benefit of reintroducing a character from season one that a lot of people liked.  The show seems to do 'small' pretty well, but when it comes to pushing along the main story it suffers in no small part because the current main story is just so meh.

The problem with the entire Governor/Woodbury thing is it was hardly believable in a comic book, and is just absurd on TV....more so because of the way they've gone about it all.  The things that made the comic version at least make you go 'holy shiat' and interested in what happened next are the most heinous and simply won't be shown on AMC, and I don't want to get into specifics because spoilers and what not.  At least in the comic the Gov wanted the prison because it was a step up from Woodbury.  That was an understandable motivation for the guy to rally his troops and try to capture the place, and that motivation also really complicated things for the numerically superior Woodbury group since they just couldn't go in guns blazing and trash the place.  Now it all just surrounds some sort of vendetta against Michonne which seems like a fark ton lot of work to go through with no certainty it even works.

born_yesterday: Two episodes ago, Milton was loyal enough to the Governor to betray Andrea without question.  Tonight, the opposite was true.

I just got caught up on the last four episodes, so I saw the episode you're talking about just last night.  And I'm not seeing the flip-flop you're describing.  Milton has clearly become more and more concerned with the Governor's behavior since the raid on Woodbury by Rick's group.  He's a milquetoast, so he doesn't confront the governor, but Dallas Roberts (the actor who plays Milton) does a really good job of conveying Milton's anxiety with his body language and subtle looks.

Milton is still loyal to the Governor, even as of this latest episode, but his conscience is really farking with him.  I think he's trying to keep the Governor from doing something morally reprehensible -- its clear from their conversations that Milton is really not okay with slaughtering Rick's group.  I don't think he wants the Governor dead or defeated -- he stopped Andrea from shooting after all -- he just wants to stop him from crossing a line (which tells me that Milton doesn't know about the other people the Gov has killed).

After thinking about it some more, I'll concede that I was a bit harsh on Milton.  I really did like that exchange between him and the Governor about the ZBBQ.  He has consistently been vocal with the Gov about his concern for Woodbury, but as you said, he seems to want to reign Philip in.  Even though it was only briefly, I found the tension between Milton and Gov much more compelling than how some of the zombie scenes developed.  I hope that his reveal that he knew Philip before the outbreak is used in the future to give nuance to their relationship.

I'll make a prediction that the writers are going to steer away from the overbearing hopelessness and over-the-top sadism of the comics [haven't read them, going off what other FARKers have noted], and try to maximize their acting talent (the recent episode with Lennie James again a great example).  I think it gives the show a chance at a broader audience and greater longevity.  I think the two series will be more and more loosely related.  I hope the writers have the time/talent to pull it off.

I just thought some plot lines meandered and the pacing was off for this one.  Handing over Michonne would really wear at my sympathy for the main characters.  And give her some better dialog for God's sake.

Don't forget Big Tiny -- didn't get bitten, but they were all pretty convinced that he was a goner.  Would have been interesting if Tomas hadn't capped him.

The virus seems to have different effects, like the plague bacteria -- skin scratches (but maybe the immune system in these survivors can handle these) vs flea bites causing the "slower" bubonic form of the plague, deeper wounds that mix the virus directly with the victim's blood being more like septicemic plague, which can kill within a day of the symptoms appearing if not treated.

It's worth remembering that *all* of the people we see in the show are the survivors of the initial outbreak -- their immune systems, for whatever reason, are better able to withstand the plague virus than the poor slobs who make up the walker herds and died from that initial infection.

Was going to mention Big Tiny. Though I'd think if getting zombie saliva in an open wound is fatal then getting zombie blood in you would be just as bad. Though apparently it doesn't seem to hurt if you get their blood in your eyes or mouth.

Total movie myth .  Have you ever tried to do this, I would venture to guess it's just about impossible.  We have some tires around my work and I tried to stab one just to see what would happen, my opinion is you are not slashing or stabbing a tire with a knife to let out the air.

Shrugging Atlas: Bontesla: Well, I'm not waiting a week... do they generally stream it live on AMC?

Amazon Prime has it available the next day.  I think it's 2 bucks an episode.

Or you can google walking dead streaming and click the first link that comes up. That's free.

Sirjohnfalstaff: serial_crusher: hork_monkey: serial_crusher: Whatever happened to those cholos at the old folks home in Atlanta?  Maybe Rick will make some pact with them to help out in the war.

There's a deleted scene that you can watch on Youtube that explains this.  It's takes place right after they leave the CDC.  I won't spoil, because it's worth a watch.

Thank you for alerting me of that.  Good scene.  For those who don't want to google.

Pity they deleted that. That was great.

No shiat!!

kumanoki: Let's see how much they ignore the infant this episode.

What do you want? An hour of baby coddling?

Sounds legit!

Anti-BoyBand: Out of curiosity, how many people do you think in Woodbury would actually know how to operate an M2?  Do they even have the head space and timing gauge? They are going to be pissed when they try to shoot and only one or two rounds go off before the have a misfire...

Oh, I'm sure those were with the gear that the troops had, but I'm equally sure no one in that down would recognize them, much less know how to use them.

Pokey.Clyde: ExperianScaresCthulhu: The mods'll delete it.

Doesn't do those of us who already clicked on it any good, now does it?

They still haven't deleted it two days later.

Pokey.Clyde: PsyLord: WTF, if you only stole the Gov's truck while he was inside the building.... Jebus.

Do you really think that he would have left the keys in the truck?

ExperianScaresCthulhu: Forgive?

No prob. It isn't like I'm pissed or anything. Just wish I'd known it was a spoiler before I clicked on it.

/as much as I love this show, it is, after all, just a show

All characters in every show automatically know how to hot-wire cars don't you know! In the dark, with no tools, nontheless.

That's funny. Except that it isn't.  This site is a situation where The Insiders have to request a deletion (or vacation time) for it to be done.

To Pokey.Clyde: again, no true disruption to your viewing pleasure was intended.  Me, I love spoilers and seek them out.  A particularly good spoiler increases my anticipation to watch something or read something... which is why I read the backs of books, not the front of books, before I made purchases pre-Amazon.  A spoiler which explains that the story is lame saves me time and money. Good spoilers are hooks.

But then, I'm weird, and I should not have assumed others would feel the same way as I do, here, regarding that.

BizarreMan: Nobody is smart enough to just ask at the gate who left last night in a truck? That's your zombie griller. We know it's Milton.

What gets me is how much of the problems with Woodbury could be resolved if people actually COMMUNICATED!

Michonne tells Andrea what she saw and figured out when she wanted them both to leave. But no, be vague.

Carol tells Andrea what really happened to Maggie and Glen.

Herschel tells Andrea what really happened to Maggie and Glen.

Andrea tells Tyrese what the Governor and his minions are planning.

Any one of those conversations changes everything! But no, we've got to keep things subtle and circumspect. Beat around the bush and it just goes on.

I agree with you on all but the last one. I think if she had tried to actually tell them in detail how crazy the governor actually is that they'd think she was the one who was crazy. Perhaps better to infer and let them draw their own conclusions in this particular case. The rest of them though...
