On ESPN's bubble watch page...
27 Bids Punched
4 Auto Bids Left today
28 "Locks" (All of the teams listed under "locks", and removing the ones who have won their auto-bids).
That is 59 teams.

Bubble watch lists 4 "should be in"s, and Bracketology has them all in....
Minnesota
Oklahoma
Iowa State
Temple

That leave's the "Work left to do"s on Bubble Watch, the top 5 are the ones Bracketology has going in.....
La Salle
Saint Mary's
Ole Miss
Boise St.
Middle Tenn St.
------------------------
Tennessee
Kentucky
Virginia
Maryland
Iowa
Baylor
AZ State
Alabama
Massachusetts
Southern Miss

The only game today that will kind of affect the above is the SEC Championship (Ole Miss vs. Florida), but, Ole Miss are already in the "Bubble in" anyway to ESPN, but, if they won, that would move them up to autobid, make the "locks" 29 (adding Florida), and then only 4 teams from the "Work left to do" would be getting in.

So, is it settled as ESPN says up above, or will the selection committee pick someone else?

Oh, what a fall by Kentucky.

2013-03-17 11:54:11 AM
Stupid Akron beat my beloved OU. We were going to make it to the elite eight this year!

Hope Akron loses in the first round

2013-03-17 12:05:41 PM
No #1 seeds, just give all the #16 teams automatic byes.

If ESPN is still pretending that BPI matters, they will be way off.

I'm rooting for New Mexico myself. Second in RPI and 3rd in strength of schedule. Will get 4-5 seed and be underseeded. Much more deserving of a one seed the Zags

Virginia
Maryland

UVA is definitely out.  Going one-and-done in the tournament, and looking lifeless while doing it?

Maryland might get some consideration.

2013-03-17 12:26:29 PM
Memphis deserves a 6 seed which means we will be an 8.

2013-03-17 12:51:33 PM

The Troof hurts: Memphis deserves a 6 seed which means we will be an 8.

Because they beat Tenn and Southern Miss?

They should be a 10 seed.

2013-03-17 12:56:12 PM
Looking for five Mountain West conference teams to get in, New Mexico to get at least a two seed, and hopefully my beloved CSU Rams getting no worse than an eight.

Well, my Heels are in anyway, but it'd be nice to take the ACC tourney today.  Go Carolina!

It's funny, the Zags are always either vastly underrated or vastly overrated.  It's never a good year for them when too many people believe in them.

GOOOO BASKETBALL!!!!

I love this past week of sports.

2013-03-17 01:07:38 PM
BEST WEEK EVAR on the way. Seriously, for sheer entertainment value, nothing beats the wall-to-wall games the "first" four days (not counting the play-ins).

/Still crossing my fingers for a one seed for KU

2013-03-17 01:08:19 PM
Scott of UMiami injured already.  Off to the locker room.  Something with his back.

Damn right. I wish I had cable so I could have watched all the games this past week, and hell...all of the tourney games too.

I wish I wasn't working TH-FR.

/A-10 on now....weee

Go Bills!

Totally going to drive to KC if it works out.

Go Zags!/screw all the haters

No, because regardless of the conference, running the conference board, to include a title win, is worth better than a 10 seed.

2013-03-17 01:21:58 PM
This A-10 Championship is ooooooooooggggleeeeeeee

18-12 North Carolina, Miami to the line shooting two after the break.

I don't think there's anywhere to go with this except for "overrated". If I'm reading Lunardi's predictions right, it appears to me that Gonzaga would have a #1 seed and is seeded #2 overall (that's the part I'm unsure about).

So, essentially, anything less than a National Championship appearance is a failure.

As for New Mexico, Lunardi has them in the toughest bracket in my opinion. Yeah, they could get through it, but potentially facing Kansas and Duke back-to-back is a tall order.

Almost time for OSU/Wisconsin!

That what personal days are for.

Maryland needed to be playing today to have a shot. But beating Duke twice in a season ain't so bad. They could be a force next year.

AliceBToklasLives: That what personal days are for.

Can't really do that at my job. Teaching classes and giving speeches to students for one-time events those days.

JosephFinn: Almost time for OSU/Wisconsin!

Damn right.

That is just silly.  The fact that your conference sucks doesn't mean you get a better seed.

You are as good as the teams you beat.  Memphis beat nobody.

If Middle Tenn. gets in, they will be tough for someone.

I won't lose sleep over Boise or La Salle.

2013-03-17 01:46:33 PM
44-41 Miami at the half.  Lightning fast, 3ball after 3ball...ridiculously good game so far.

2013-03-17 01:51:00 PM
Since Louisville will be the 1 seed playing in the Lexington Pole Barn, where does Kentucky play their first rounds of the NIT?

2013-03-17 01:52:21 PM
Yay!  This will be the year that Temple gets out of the first round!

Maybe!

I've seen Middle Tennessee play twice and if those games are indicative of their play, they are terrible.  They've beaten no one...they have no business being in the tournament.

At least he'd be working on something useful, then.

And before any starts spouting RPI...child please.

When your rating system has the Mountain West as the best conference, your rating system sucks.

2013-03-17 02:07:14 PM
Serious question: does anyone actually believe that Gonzaga is the best team in America? Really?

2013-03-17 02:08:25 PM
51-50 Miami, 15:25 left.  3-point shootout for the ACC title.

2013-03-17 02:09:02 PM
Go Buffs! Maybe they'll win a game and help distract everyone from the putrid state of the football program!

Then nobody in the SEC does. They would be in thick of it in the conference race. It's not MTS fault that Ole Miss, Vandy etc had down years.

2013-03-17 02:15:46 PM
What about Stephen F Austin ? 12 points separates them from a perfect record. 27-4 dersves a bid

2013-03-17 02:21:34 PM
Comon, Carolina. Show them you're better than a 7-seed

2013-03-17 02:22:09 PM
Hmm... We have an all-timer going in the ACC.

Ah, BPI, the QBR for college basketball.

/Stop trying to make stat-geekery a thing for sports other than baseball, Gretchen!

63-61 UNC, 10:02 left to play...22 more 3s to be hit before the game's over.

2013-03-17 02:26:17 PM
Is there not a rule anymore about the ball hitting the top of the backboard?

Carolina in the tourney on the form they're displaying:  No one wants a piece of them.  No. Body.

Kentucky might be on the bubble, but lucky for them their Storied Program Factor is 100%
