Sweet, CEC thread. These are always good for a chuckle.

I believe it. People are stupid crazy when it comes to a) their food and b) their kids. Combine those two and you have a wonderful Saturday night brouhaha that requires handcuffs, nightsticks, and meeting a man named Bubba in a very small room.

Despair of the Cheese: I believe it. People are stupid crazy when it comes to a) their food and b) their kids.

And add a place that serves alcohol to the mix and you get loads of laughs

There's one right next door  to me in a fairly busy, high traffic neighborhood that advertises on the door to lock your car/don't leave valuables in plain sight and has a security guard inside... meanwhile the Buffalo Wild Wings in the same strip mall... occasional drunk loud-mouth.

So filthy place with shiatty low cost food attracts the worst society has to offer? I will never take my kids there.

Where a kid surrounded by a formidable phalanx of police officers can be a kid!

Three decades ago our local Chuck E Cheese's used to be a good place for a family outing or kid's birthday party. Now decent people will not go near it. Very sad.

Chuck E Cheese's currently only attracts the dregs of society who visit the establishment with the intent to cause trouble.  Naturally adding children, games, alcohol, and low-quality food in the mix all adds to the ambience. The police are called there nearly every single day, and it has a greater number of police visits than the low-income section 8 housing complexes.

A plan to increase police patrols at Chuck E Cheese's probably makes a lot of sense... while they are there they can probably find many wanted felons and make drug busts.

The chuck e cheeses by me have turned totally ghetto.  Filled with inner city riff-raff that let their kids run wild with no rules.  It has to be on the business to install some rules and security, or deal with what clientele chooses to go there.

Those of you who want to claim racism:  isn't it better to acknowledge a problem and try and correct it rather than ignore out of fear of being labeled a racist?

new measures designed to halt a series of altercations at the family entertainment center.
some people have different defintions of entertainment. Shooting rats at the dump - or a Bridge club for example.  Both called entertainment.

My self, I'm an "Avoiding Getting Shot at Chuckie Cheeses" sort of person.

Kewl, this is the Government Cheese right by my house! It's in a strip mall in a slightly-upper-middle class suburb right next door to the South Side of Chicago, sooooo all the ghetto rats who don't want to go to the CEC at 87th &the Dan Ryan have dey birfday parties here.  As such, middle-class people avoid that CEC unless it's during the week and before, like, 2 pm. That entire strip mall is pretty much a dump...

My neighbor used to have her daughter's birthday parties at her house, which I would attend because there were lots of adults and drinking as well. This year she's planning on having it at CEC so she doesn't have to deal with the clean-up. I think I'll pass...

FTA: "Kimco Realty Corp., the company that manages the shopping center, has agreed to pay for an Oak Lawn police car staffed by an off-duty officer to patrol the center during Chuck E. Cheese's busy times,"

Otherwise known as 'impersonating a police officer'.

If you are off duty, please do not use the work equipment on your security guard duties.
If you are on duty, please do not get paid during your on-time by private property owners to get number 1 status in police protection.

This, 100 times.

Fark isn't a great place for that sort of question. Around here, the answer is "no." Blasting everyone with how exceedingly tolerant and enlightened and un-racist you are is the ideal.

You are doing it wrong!!!

So you're saying you're only a police officer if the government is paying you?

I really want to believe that there is hope for kids like this. Kids that grow up watching their parents and role models act like animals. I need to think that inside that kid's head he is just counting down the days until he can get the fark away from the idiots and their manufactured drama. I want to picture him getting straight As with plans to go to college and never take a phone call from any one of these trashy people ever again. I am not that naive though.

I think it's more that the solution most offered by the people who point at "brown people" being the problem is "put brown people back in their place".  We're not talking about a bunch of Bill Cosbys out there saying we need to condemn bad cultural influences as much as "booga booga look at the scary sub-humans..." sheet-wearing types.

Hard to argue.

Chuck E. Cheeses are great arguments for unrestricted drone strikes on American soil.
