doglover: So you want him to flip his pickup drunkenly at work, subby?

Subby isn't focusing enough on the drunk officers that don't flip their pickups while playing hookey.

One bad apple.

"The officer on the scene cited the off duty officer for spilling a perfectly good glass of scotch in a moving vehicle."

I rolled my pickup last November. Surprisingly, alcohol was not involved, but black ice was.

/Pointless post is pointless.

Paid administrative leave?

Also subby can construct a mean run-on sentence.

He'll be back on the beat after a week or two paid recuperation period.

The officer walked away from the crash without a scratch. However, he has been stripped of his badge for now. Hazel Park Police Chief Martin Barner suspended Viviano without pay.

"Obviously, as police officer you're expected ... you're held to a higher standard than the general public, and it's very disappointing," said Barner. "At the conclusion of the investigation it will be determined what his punishment will be."

Wow. Well done chief. Well done.

It was more likely he flipped his truck while trying to play hockey.  I don't know anyone who bothers flipping their truck playing hookey, but hockey even drunk in a truck sounds about right.  In MI, a truck in a ditch is serving a penalty.

Viviano is a 17-year veteran with a clean record

I honestly hope they cut this guy some slack.

Here's how I'd handle it. were I his Captain.

"Im giving you another shot kid.

But one more fark up and YOU'RE OUT ON YOUR ASS VIVIANO!

I'm getting too old for this shiat."

If calling in sick before flipping my pickup after drinking is wrong, then I don't want to be right.

Drunk cop trifecta in play.

And in other news, police are human beings, and capable of going full retard just like anyone else. Any more news flashes of the obvious subtard?

Is knowing you're going to be sick beforehand still "playing hooky"?  I think calling in sick was the only decent decision he made that night.

It'll stop being news when they get treated like the rest of us when they break the law.

Wait, without pay? What sort of shenanigans is this?

Everybody knows that you don't get caught dwi your first time. Average is likely 20-30 times before being caught. How high must that average be for police officers? They know all the ways to circumvent the law, so it seems likely their dwi average would be higher before being caught.

Hey, are you a Montanner? Your profile doesn't say, and doesn't list an email address or I'd ask you privately. If you're a Montanner, I have to favorite you in green. It's a thing I do.

Obligatory hazeltucky post?

Sure. I'll do it.

//used to drive up to lapeer with a case, a fifth, an eighth of weed with a handful of friends. Park a mile from anywhere. Walk half a mile from there. Bonfire. Last man standing had to drive home. God damn I was stupid in high school.

///Only thing I remember from those trips is waking up in a parking lot in the backseat of my car surrounded by like 30 pumpkins. To this day nobody can explain that one...

Fuggin Bizzy: ?
Billings does not have a 5th avenue in downtown.
Having made my own casual observation about this, I felt that the omission may have been intentional, as an reminder that 5th av NYC was at the opposite end of the earth.
Most likely, the explanation involves the rail bed that ran downtown between 4th and 6th has been removed.
There is a 5th av. S. in Billings as well.
/clever fail
//i don't live there
