The Final Countdown is infinitely worse. These guys aren't good but (from what I could tell from the 60 seconds I could stand to listen to them) they're actually in tune and more or less on time and you can identify the song they're playing. Their singer is, however, terrible which of course drags the whole thing down. With another singer and some more rehearsal time, this band might rise to average high school keg party band level.

In the cover of "TFC", though, nothing works - every instrument is tuned to a different key, everyone is playing in a different time and it's just a big glorious cacophony of suck.

^ This..  The most spectacular part was how the keyboard even seemed to be out of tune..

At least it wasn't a the  Talk Talk song.

Meh, I can do that... Just throw the instruments and the amps in the dishwasher, fire that puppy up and sing along. What's everyone's boggle, anyway?

It's no Countdown killer, but if the only thing on the radio was this, The Final Countdown, and Diane Rehm, I wouldn't be to turn the radio off fast enough!

It wasn't THAT horrible, except for the singing.
Junior high school stuff for sure, but you have to understand their reluctance to bring in a singer, who doesn't have the time (learning the instrument), and money
(expensive at that age, I delivered quite a few papers for my 1st guitar) invested in it.

I suppose we all have our piece of paradise in this video. For me it's at 1:06 when the lead singer looks back at the keyboardist with that hell-yeah-we're-rockin' look.

music trivia: The keyboardist is Sven Svendson, whose parents were Lowell George and an ashtray that fell out of Janis Joplin's snatch.

does the singer think his guitar is a prop or something?

If they put half as much effort into their music as they did into building that stage...this is exactly what it should sound like.

Not only that, but the keyboard has a dead key (D, I believe).

What's with Fark's love of awful music?  I guess this does explain how weekly heavy metal links and all the hip-pop find their way to the entertainment tab.

It proves that I'm not actually the suckiest guitar player on the planet.

Sounds like a Janick Gers/Dave Murray guinness-and-rum-fuelled side project.

Still got the vinyl from back then. But surprisingly, you don't have to get off my lawn unless you disagree.

He did.  That is part of the original song; very much on the edge.

Remember kids- talent aside, this is why stage monitors are a critical part of the PA infrastructure.

I have a hard time bashing these guys since they're so young.  I played in a band in high school that probably wasn't very good, but we had a farking blast doing it.

The Final Countdown guys were like 50.  There's no excuse for that.

Is.... Is that a *wooden* drum kit?
Is there even a base?
WTF?

Sure there was a base.  I mean the vanity had legs on it.
