Yeah, Iraq. You started it by being so invadable. You owe us.

2013-03-15 03:18:12 PM
He also called for the migration of white people to save the US.

Really? Speaking against the Iraq war? How anti-Republican can you get?

I guess he was not able to buy as much real estate over there as he hoped so his profits were limited.

Nice voter outreach, "conservatives."

rumpelstiltskin: Yeah, Iraq. You started it by being so invadable.

Did you see how Iraq was dressed?  They were asking for it.

Why isnt this showing on all the channels. America needs to see the Republican Party in all its glory.

2013-03-15 03:28:29 PM
I've always had a good imagination

/but I'll be damned if I can imagine how stupid someone needs to be to take this clown seriously

Didn't Cheney and his buddies carve up the oil fields and distribute the contracts amongst the existing oil companies?

Besides his innate idiocy, what makes Trump think that when we went into Iraq that even if we did steal the oil, America would get it?  It would be sold on the open market if anything, just like the shiat that came through the Keystone Pipeline would if it were built.

America would get diddly.

"Tremendous people, hard-working people," he said. "They can't come in. I know people whose sons went to Harvard, top of their class, went to the Wharton School of finance, great, great students. They happen to be a citizen of a foreign country. They learn, they take all of our knowledge, and they can't work in this country. We throw them out. We educate them, we make them really good, they go home - they can't stay here - so they work from their country and they work very effectively against this. how stupid is that?"

Yea, what this country needs is more people working in finance. That's sure to boost our economy with no fallout.

The GOP suggesting rich white people get preference over poor minorities? I am SHOCKED!

FTFA: Trump added that the leader of Iraq-"we don't even know who the hell it is"-is likely building palaces and a kingdom of wealth now that the U.S. has left, while the American people got "nothing out of it," referring to the war.

Conservatives.

The Iraq War cost us just over $775 Billion, right? I don't even want to do the math as to how many barrels of oil that is. And who would sell it? The U.S. government has no national oil company to do that sort of thing. Its not like we own Citgo or anything like that.

2013-03-15 03:57:02 PM
This is getting difficult for even the likes of me to defend.

2013-03-15 04:00:54 PM
They do realize that this whole convention is broadcast live to the whole country, right?

2013-03-15 04:02:25 PM
I'm pretty sure Iraq paid for itself, libtardos:

Remember the Bush administration's assertions that the Iraq war would pay for itself? On March 27, 2003, Deputy Secretary of Defense Paul Wolfowitz  the House Appropriations Committee that Iraqi oil would pay for the costs of the war: "We're dealing with a country that can really finance its own reconstruction and relatively soon." In a press conference on Oct. 2, 2003, Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld predicted: "The bulk of the funds for Iraq's reconstruction will come from Iraqis-from oil revenues, recovered assets, international trade, direct foreign investment-as well as some contributions we've already received and hoped to receive from the international community."

Stop rewriting history, and such as:

"It is unimaginable that the United States would have to contribute hundreds of billions of dollars and highly unlikely that we would have to contribute even tens of billions of dollars."

Kenneth Pollack
National Security Council
September 2002

"...a conservative estimate of the costs of the war puts it at $1.2 trillion, although Joseph Stiglitz and Linda Bilmes estimate that the long-term costs, including medical treatment for veterans, may exceed $2 trillion."

You do realize what happens when you incentivize the troops to loot, right?
LOOTING and PILLAGING is a time-honored tradition.

Hell, wasnt ONE of the excuses to invading iraq to get cheap oil.
Once we freed them from Saddam, they would of COURSE sell us the oil for less than market value.

that is ONLY what it cost US! The costs to the Iraqi people, government and country was probably 10 times that. Not bad for a princeling. Prince W. And people still talk about history being kind to him.

Why is a television personality addressing a political rally?

If this is movement conservatism, movement conservatism needs to take a long hard look in the mirror.

You probably don't want to know why the Iraqi National Police wanted to borrow the bolt-cutters out of our breach kit, so they could loot "collect evidence."

Apparently a wife's wedding ring was a vital piece of evidence against an IED manufacturer.

So...a path to citizenship for immigrants, then? Trump sounds particularly concerned that people who come in on student visas don't get to stay.

Because it's plastered all over the right-wing news, and if it's all over the news, then it's newsworthy!

I'm beginning to wonder if CPAC is some sort of false flag operation so that whoever they put up in 2016 will look smart less stupid. Right now, they are devolving into dadaist theater.

But, if you want to "help" the Teatards take over the Republican Party, this guy will cut you a check for 10 grand.

AdolfOliverPanties: Didn't Cheney and his buddies carve up the oil fields and distribute the contracts amongst the existing oil companies?

No, it was too politically toxic so all of the energy companies stayed away at first.  Then the Iraqi oil ministry put the fields out to bid in 2009, but they essentially rejected every one.*  They just had the fourth round of auctions since the way last year and the only firm who got low enough was Kuwaiti - http://www.businessweek.com/ap/2012-05/D9V30K3O1.htm

/*The Iraqis came up with an amount they kept secret that they found acceptable and then had a big public auction where all the oil companies put their bid in to see if anybody came close to it.  I think the lowest bid put in was by Exxon and they were about 3x higher than what the Iraqis were asking
