I can pretty much guarantee some douchebag will be driving that thing in Manhattan, and the closest it'll get to muddy terrain is dirty water from a pothole.

If, in the description of your new product, you include the phrase "the first since the Nazi era", then you should probably fire your Ad department and possibly rethink your design choices.

Funny, considering how they mention all sorts of other, impressive, stats, there's nothing about MPG.

It's almost like there's something to be ashamed of there...

If it can't hold a stack of flat sheets of 4x8 paneling in the bed, it's useless. This is also why I hate most pickup trucks as generally useless.

6x6 wouldn't be new. People have known for awhile know you can buy a 99x99. It's just farking expensive as hell.

And this thing looks stupid. It's like they went after the Avalanche market and added tires. And looks almost as long as those Hummer stretch limos (which I want to shoot out all the tires every time I see one). Also, I always thought the 4x4 designation had something to do with the drivetrain/gearing. Isn't it something power to all four wheels? So. . . the 6x6 has three differentials??? Ye gods, no wonder they didn't display the MPG.

That's OK.

I thought this was gonna be a story about someone upgrading to a 6x6 timber from a 4x4 for a beat stick, and I was like goddamn.

It's obviously not meant to be a work truck.
Europeans tend to use Sprinter, Transit, Ducato chassis as their pick-up trucks and vans. They will easily hold 4x8 panels, get great fuel mileage and most of 'em are available as 4x4s, too. The Sprinter even comes in a 6x6 version in Europe.

Hell, a volunteer fire department I was on 20 years ago had a 6x6 brush truck that had been donated to us by the Forest Service, and that thing was OLD when we got it.

Of course, I doubt most people would be interested in a green truck with a 2000 gallon water tank on the back of it.

Had to sell it for 4k to pay rent and feed the family.

I see the usefulness of an extra axle if that part of the truck is carrying a lot of weight, but I don't see what good it does here.

Yep. Got lots of handmedowns from the Texas forest service. A 1968 6x6 deuce.5 that got converted to a brush truck, a 1950ish Jeep 4x4 that was a brush truck, and a 5000 gallon flight line refueler that got turned into a tanker.

The tanker was....interesting to drive. Getting 62000 pounds going up a hill in the Texas hill country is an exercise in patience. Thankfully it had an automatic, so you just shift to 1-2, stand on the gas, and let the rev limiter keep the engine from exploding.

Ah, so instead of buying a hummer to inform the world you have a small dick, you can now buy one of these 6x6 cars and let the world know you have a tiny dick.  Good to know.
