iheartscotch: And then gave the driver a ticket for child-endangerment!

/ I've always felt that you're either gonna make it or not; but, speeding and crazy driving puts you, your family and everyone else on the road at risk.

// maybe; and I know this is crazy, but, if you are going to be in that particular situation; maybe you should pack a go bag and keep it in your car or something?

Agreed, speeding is relatively safe if you aren't too reckless about it, but blowing red lights is just begging to end up like the about-to-be parents where only the child survived. Better to keep your wits about and be prepared to deliver yourself instead of endangering yourselves and everyone else on the road to get to a hospital.

I mean, look where blowing all those reds got these people, they still had to deliver on the side of the road anyway.

AverageAmericanGuy: factoryconnection: AverageAmericanGuy: Are you suggesting that prepared and responsible parents that don't wait until the baby is crowning before heading to the hospital don't make good parents?

Here's a thought experiment, Guy: predict the duration of labor for any pregnant woman, down to the 10-minute resolution.  Show your work.

Best of luck.  Oh, and don't say "when the water breaks."  My first child was born 22 hours after membranes first started rupturing.  My second was born 90 seconds after the water broke.

And were you out shopping or at a restaurant. Did you not have a suitcase prepared?

Or we're you responsible and prepared?

You're pretty funny.  Anything else you've seen in movies that responsible parents should do?  So far what I am gathering is that suitcases and not shopping or dining out are the cornerstone of responsibility for expecting parents.  I get being confined to stay at home at the third trimester, I mean what would a pregnant need outdoors anyway, but what is the suitcase for as it relates to delivery?  Something to hold the baby in or bring it home in?

Also the video nor the article show someone blowing through lights or some absurd level of speed, he's probably doing +5-10 of the car he passes, and it's slowing down.

washington-babylon: They went to Mercy Hospital? That isn't gonna end well. At least he is only playing with one other adult person, so the bots should help him out. Don't know how the baby factors in though.

The real question is; is immunity hereditary?

Kudos to the cop for not shooting anyone and having some form of understanding of the situation.

Follow up: We checked the dash cam and got their license plate. The father was ticketed for his violations. Officer on paid leave of absence for two weeks.

YES
Depending on how you define "hereditary"
If you mean specifically genetically then - yes, different genetic patterns make one immune to various diseases, and can also cause propensity.
If you mean passed on from parent to child - yes, if you are a breast fed child you carry the immunity of your mother to many diseases thanks to the sharing of antibody patterns.

I think it's great that you've worked so hard to overcome your roots!
