Um, we have seen dinosaurs out the ass now.

Unless they're gonna fight aliens, learn to speak, or save us from Zod, no one cares anymore....

I wonder if the little bastard from the first one will be in it. He was surprisingly great in The Pacific.

They should've never mad a second and third movies. The original was great. Was so scared as a kid seeing it in theaters. The second one was ridiculous when The T-REX makes it back to the suburban United States. The third film was just stupid and had no real plot. The original book was good though. Read it when I was ten. They need to bring back Richard Attenborough, Laura Dern, Sam Neil, and Jeff Goldblum for the fourth installment. I hope this one at least has a decent plot and writing.

//Hate 3-D but this film might actually be cool with it

I hope the fourth one involves a T Rex which learns to speak and becomes responsible for solving and almost incomprehensible interconnected series of crimes (or are they?).

I think they should make a reverse Jurassic Park.

It's the far-off future, after the dinosaurs were unleashed upon the world and slaughtered humans into extinction. Peace reigns on Earth, now.

A group of dinosaurs somehow manage to clone a few humans, and these destructive creatures wreak havoc on the peace-loving dinosaur population.

Also, the Laura Dern dinosaur shows her tits.

/These are future dinosaurs. They have tits.

I was 17 when the original came out. I think I saw it about 20+ times in the theater. The first few times were because it was awesome. Then it was at the dollar theater and it was a good way to kill time before a work shift, even if I got there late or left early.

Never saw 2 all the way through and was bored by 3.

But bring it on. Unlike "Star Wars", which I hate to see them ruin the franchise more, I don't care if it's that bad. It's freaking dinosaurs. I know they'll never re-capture the magic of the first one, but it's worth a shot.

2013-03-15 02:10:05 AM
ooh, i hope they call it 'the clone wars'. or 'the cloned dinosaur wars'. or 'the clone wars but with dinosaurs'.

Could be worse, they could be making a Carnosaur 4.

/You know, the other dinosaur movie series that also first aired in 93.
//Probably shouldn't admit I've seen that series.

My dad made me read the book before I could watch the movie. The book was terrifying to me as a child, especially at the very beginning.  They need to just make this the movie that Jurassic Park should have been.  Great dinosaurs again, but no cheesy jokes or pandering to children.  Dark and gritty.

After that they can make Starship Troopers the correct way, and move on to a Ringworld movie and The Mote in God's Eye.

2013-03-15 03:10:05 AM
I am still terrified of velociraptors.

Jurassic Park 4 should be a live action Denver the Last Dinosaur movie.

2013-03-15 04:06:33 AM
You'd think that by now they'd have either gassed the entire island or set up a perimeter 50 miles around the thing to keep anyone out. Paleontologists could study the beasts using drones and rovers.

That's just Spielberg doing his regular "shiat all over the second movie" schtick. He does that to every second movie: Godzilla movie stuck in Jurassic Park 2: Busby Berkeley musical number grafted onto the beginning of Temple of Doom, etc... Thank God there's no way for him to make sequels to Saving Private Ryan or Schindler's List.

Sorry, but seeing humans bowing down and groveling before dinosaurs made me declare never to watch another JP movie. Too much weapons-grade woooo to put up with.

From 2011:

"Rob believes marriage is a sacred bond between one man and one woman," his communications director, Jeff Sadosky, said in response to a request to comment for this article.

Asa member of the U.S. House of Representatives from southwest Ohio before leaving to join the Bush administration, Portman voted for a constitutional amendment to ban same-sex marriage. He also voted for the Defense of Marriage Act, giving states the right to refuse to recognize gay marriages performed elsewhere.

And as noted in "Between the Lines," a Michigan newspaper serving the gay and lesbian community, Portman in 1999 voted to bar same-sex couples in Washington, D.C. from adopting children. That amendment.

Not saying that someone cannot change their mind, but it shows how quick people are to change their mind on legislating morality when it affects someone in their family.

Yes!  Exactly.  I believe Jurassic Park 4 should focus on the real struggles of gay dinosaurs and the prejudice they faced on a daily basis as they battled for the right to marry the Therapod of their choice and to adopt gay dinosaur eggs all the while dealing with the very real pressures of evolving feathers and flight while being treated as little more than convenient transportation by the son of God.

Don't they have to do something about the pteranodons they left flying around at the end of III? They're not gonna stick to the island surely?

And in the book, Raptors were sneaking off the island on a regular basis. They even hinted to this in The Lost World where the bridge crew were all dead.

Any word on Land of the Lost 2?

There are two movies based on 1970s Saturday morning cartoons that I want to see:

1) A reimagined Land of the Lost, done seriously (not a goofy WIll Farrell vehicle). Get Ron Moore to do it. There was a lot of weird shiat in LotL, and it would be cool to see it played straight.

2) A proper Thundarr the Barbarian movie.

Those are my two "shut up and take my money" picks.

I agree. I was interested when I first heard about the Land of the Lost movie (loved the show as a kid), but was disheartened when I saw the trailer - never bothered to see the movie. It would be cool to see someone do it right.

I'd probably prefer to do JP4. It's a franchise that no-one is watching, the execs are going to take whatever you give 'em. And really, there's a few good stories could be made. Star Wars, is, I have little doubt going to be subject to corporate meddling.

2013-03-15 02:17:22 PM
I always thought of the original JP as an interesting and thought provoking movie as much as a monster movie. Being introduced to the ideas that the movie presented was fantastically interesting. The way the creatures and the park were presented had a much more real feel to it than any creature based movie before it by a long shot. The t-rex scene is still the best CG sequence ever shot IMO.

The next two were simply monster movies and they were not interesting in the least. My money is on them making another stupid monster movie, but I hope the writers can think of a way to make it clever and interesting as much as scary and actiony.

You could say they tossed in some monster in the first one, but yeah, totally agree.

So... theres this Colin Trevorrow guy whos never done anything.

Well, if he's starving, then JP might get a breath of fresh air, but lets face it.  They gave it to him, because they knew it was a bust.

You know what... I'm way more excited about Juarassic Park being rereleased in Imax! That's awesome.

Ha. Also would have accepted a coming-of-age plot where an insecure velociraptor spends 45 minutes of the movie trying in vain to catch the goat that was tied up- but finds out afterwards that their real strength comes from within - and with one last breath of courage when all seemed lost, barely catches the goat.

//after that, it can be an attenborough documentary about wildlife feeding..
