Keenan Lewis "close to deal" with Saints, per Schefter.

2013-03-14 02:17:09 PM

Tiberius Gracchus: lennavan: On Offense:
Rush the ball over and over until you get one field goal.
Just kneel on the ball the rest of the game.

I think you forgot "8-12 yard passes to the well known gaps in the cover 2"

Nah, Tillman is going to punch the ball out and run the fumble back for 6.  Just kneel on it, 3 points is plenty.  The Bears aren't going to score if you blitz a LB and double Brandon Marshall.

I guess - just seems like the Bears worst down is " - and 12" or "- and 8"   Catch it, go down.  No punch from Tillman and no worry about the Bears ripping at the ball for 4 yards as you run it time and again.

I'm a Chiefs fan for some reason, and not a Cassel apologist, but I do think a lot of the problems he had in KC had to do with coaching and not necessarily his game management skills. The Chiefs were just a tragic mess last year in a lot of different ways, obviously. But under a better coordinator, Cassel actually played well enough to make a Pro Bowl.

If KC had kept him, as a starter I think he would have drastically improved under Reid.

Steven Jackson to the Falcons, Cary Williams and Kenny Phillips to the Eagles, Keenan Lewis to the Saints - Schefter.

On second thought, Steven Jackson signing with Atlanta definitely gets one of these -

While amusing, Ponder only gets 33%

When your #1 option 8 yards down the field is either Michael jenkins or Aromoshadu(?), your life sucks.

Yes, he needed to get the ball to Rudolph more. Thing is, he either had 2 or 8 catches.

That SCREAMS playcalling inconsistency.

Being a random nobody i would like to slightly clarify my previous statements, a black man wearing a purplish hat was seen in the old chicago. He was a poor tipper because I swiped the 5 bucks left for his meal.

Jim from Saint Paul: Calm down rob. Jackson doesn't fix their D.

Yeah, lol, after taking a moment to compose myself, this probably does it for their cap, his numbers over the past few years have declined, and their D is still ass.  Yes, I realize my team's D set new standards for assitude this year, but.  Just gotta hope their picks this year don't pan out and also suck.  That said, he's definitely better than Turner and IIRC he stomps the Saints D every time they played the Rams.  So it does suck, but it's not the end of the world.  Schefter immediately invoking the Greatest Show on Turf, however, is an early preview of Year 4: THIS IS THEIR YEAR!!!11 from the media, always great, heh.

Know how I know you don't know about thunder thighs losing his mojo?/their running game was average to bad last year

Lewis apparently took a "significant" amount less offered by an unnamed team to go play for his hometown Saints, that's lovely.  5/$26.3M max - $10.5M guaranteed for him.

which is why they are an afterthought when the listing of nfc playoff cotenders from the nfc next year is brought up.

49ers
seahawks
giants
packers
oh yeah the nfc south looks to have somebody between the saints improved bucs and that other team

/admittedly one playoff win does not a contender make

Have to see how it goes.  For the moment, I'm just enjoying Steelers fans apparently being quite upset over losing Lewis, that's usually a good sign of quality, hehe.

I just want to know what Speilman's gonna offer him. Our #1, beyond glaring, need. What does he do. Getting him doesn't tix everything... Man oh man is it a start.

What do you say to the guy who's going from Aaron Rodgers to Ponder/Cassel except, "Here's a blank check, I'll see you in July." And that's assuming Speilman is serious about signing him and it isn't a PR ploy to look like they actually tried to do something.

I mean really, how do you convince a top tier receiver that they are going to be happy with the quarterback situation the way it is and one of the best running backs of all time coming off one of the greatest seasons of all time?

If he is as goodas he thinks he is, he has to think that being in single coverage constantly means he can make a mediocre qb look like an all pro.

/its happened in minnesota before right?
