(NPR)   Scientists explain that a banana won't really calm you down if you've had too much caffeine. Well, that all depends on how you're using it, dear   (npr.org) divider line 25

Doesn't it calm you down when people piss on you?

If you realize that this perfect fruit is a sure sign of the existence of God, you'll become calm.

FTA: "He points to the case of a 44-year-old Australian ostrich farmer who experienced severe muscle weakness after drinking 10 liters of Coca-Cola during a wild and crazy night of kangaroo hunting.

Now that there is an impressively nonsensical mad-lib.

It isn't possible to be both apprehensive and aroused at the same time so if used correctly a banana can at least in the short term help

What what

I never heard that bananas would calm you down from too much caffeine.

And I DNRTFA.

But I'll go with my own anecdote. I drank WAY too much coffee yesterday including a cup shortly before going to bed and slept like shiat. I woke up still feeling a little caffeine working on me. And, I ate a banana and now I feel fine.

Of course, it could be that eating anything might have helped me.

I have never heard that in my life. It's like saying "Researchers have found that swimming in a kiddie pool full of Skittles won't cure a headache." I never thought it WOULD, but nice of you to waste millions of dollars in "research" money to come to this conclusion.

"Last week, food blog Serious Eats floated the idea that eating a banana might indeed be an effective way to remedy over-caffeination"

This study clearly refuted years of difficult research.

A lot of "cures" don't really work at all, it's just a placebo effect.  I don't want to be faith healed, I want to be healed for real.

I was walking Daytona Beach at Spring Break a million years ago when a girl in a convertible was eating a banana. She looked up and caught my eye in EXACTLY that pose. She turned really red and put the banana down

And I DNRTFA.

Those two facts are related.
