It's a Laker haters holiday!

I love how Kobe is complaining that a foul should've been called but failed to mention how Dwight Howard basically tackled Ivan Johnson moments earlier and nothing was called.

2013-03-14 09:30:08 AM
Should have paid the refs to call more fouls against LA's opponent. None of this would have happened.

Good.

Utah lost too, and are fading hard down the stretch, so they can probably still make the playoffs anyway.

He went down like he was shot. Not surprising considering it's thug ball.

You are about to get a stern talking to.

Yeah, looking forward to that first round Lakers-Spurs or Thunder 1 v. 8 matchup.

The daily "Will the Lakers make the playoffs?!?" will totally seem worthwhile after the first round sweep.

If only he had his old ref back.

Yeah, what Jones did is a biatch move. Bruce Bowen and others however made a f*cking career out of doing just that...so why is it now suddenly a huge issue?

/the answer is obvious

Bruce Bowen also should have been kicked the f*ck out of the league for the sh*t he pulled on the court. Instead he gets awards for it. He's like MWP without the defense of being legitimately mentally unstable.

Because dirty players don't always cause injuries, but when they do people call them out for their shiat.  Reggie Miller may have kicked a few nads in his day, but no one suffered a ruptured testicle because of it

Not nearly as deplorable as showing compassion for a rapist.

This is becoming too common in NBA games, player in the air taking a shot, defense steps into them guaranteeing the come down awkward. Watched happen in two consecutive plays against the Blazers. They need to either make this an automatic shooting foul or technical.

2013-03-14 03:25:40 PM
The worst injustice was when Nash(I think) anticipated the intentional foul and threw up a bad shot while the foul was happening and they didn't give him 3 free throws.

Arbitrary rules are bad.

When I was a kid, the Denver Rockets/Nuggets were my ABA team, and the Lakers my NBA team. Now that Kobe's injured, I can root for the Lakers (tepidly) again, at least until he comes back. Kobe is the one athlete that I truly actively wish harm upon. He's a scumbag.

The Bulls' playoff chances would be in jeopardy if the 9th place team in the East wasn't the god-awful 76ers.

/lose by 40+ to the Kings? WTF?
//Bulls are firmly in basketball hell
///basketball hell defined as being too good to get a high draft pick, but nowhere near good enough to compete for a title

So is this the daily "Kobe complains he didn't get call in which he kicked out his leg attempting to initiate contact, ignoring the fact he shot 11 for 33 for the game and that's the real reason they lost" thread?

I think the fact he's never going to equal or beat Michael Jordan is finally wearing him down.  Can't happen to a scummier see-you-next-tuesday.

2013-03-14 07:36:35 PM
I for one am looking forward to a Thunder-Lakers series. Westbrook is a huge prick already, but I'd love to see him take it to new heights late in a game 4 blowout, in LA, to complete the sweep.

2013-03-14 08:03:46 PM
That was a damn dirty play, and I hope all the Ron Artest fans call for Jones' suspension.

2013-03-14 08:13:29 PM
Well, not that it would've mattered, but...

Missed foul call at end of Lakers-Hawks Game

"With 4.9 seconds remaining in the Atlanta Hawks' 96-92 win over the Los Angeles Lakers on March 13, the Lakers' Kobe Bryant attempted a jump shot over the Hawks' Dahntay Jones. After review at the league office, video replay confirmed that referees missed a foul call on Jones as he challenged Bryant's shot and did not give him the opportunity to land cleanly back on the floor. Bryant should have been granted two free throws."

It'll be interesting to see how quickly he returns and if that helps or hurts the Lakers' chances of making the playoffs.

Dammit all, my Cavaliers get the Lakers' #1 pick if they make the playoffs.

Must have.

I think FIBA rules that "tunneling" and it's a foul. It certainly is here in Aus.

ESPN had the audacity to have Bowen on to determine if it was a dirty play. I laughed then googled Bowen s flying kick.

As a celtics fan I'm not ok with this... First, putting aside his failings as a human, you have to respect his talent and competitiveness. Sort of like how as a six fan I look at Jeter (who by all accounts IS a pretty good guy). Kobe has also expressed a respect for the Celtics and the history of the league. And lastly, he's a Rondo fan. Which I like.

only if the Lakers miss the playoffs, otherwise the Suns get the Heat's 1st round pick this year (might as well call that pick #30).
