IT for the Vatican sounds like it would be an emotionally troubling job. The probably have to either take a vow of silence or blindness.

It absolutely amazes me that so many people are still trying to make a killing by poaching potential domain names.  Evidently it's still working because people are still trying it.

Anyway, if there is one clear winner here, it's the guy who got the actual pope's name right - 3 years before the previous pope even resigned.  And he just happens to be a lawyer.  That is absolutely amazing.  Is there any chance that someone built a time machine so he could magically pull off that feat?  Is it plasuable that someone is messing with the records to make it LOOK like he's owned and paid for that domain for no apparent reason at all, until yesterday?

Why is he claiming that he is named after Francis of Assisi, when we all know it's Francis Xavier?  Inquisistional minds want to know.

Not necessarily. I could be that its a huge failure and its different people doing it each time.

I thought he was named after Francis Soyer.

He's a very humble man, from what I've been hearing.

Like, from every single news outlet throughout most of the afternoon and evening yesterday, every two minutes or so, over and over and over and over and over. . . .

There were also a lot of priests and Catholic Church scholars on TV remarking on how humble he is.

Chris Matthews said on his show last night that he has high hopes for this pope, because the guy's really humble.

Apparently, the new pope is a very humble man.

/and humble.

It's not like the Vatican has hundreds of college educated men sitting around doing whatever the apparatchiks tell them to do or anything.

I do believe that this is the same theory that causes so many people to send out Spam, or any other of a gazillion things of the like.  If you send out millions of emails, someone is bound to click, and someone is bound to profit.  And, yeah, you're right...  It's not the same people that have been doing it for all these years.  There is a constant rotation of new ones coming in thinking it's a "get rich quick" scheme.

Obligations?

1) Put on pope hat
2) Strut
3) Visit people with AIDS
4) Tell Africa to stop using condoms

Did I miss anything?

Notsureifserious, but it's an infinite monkeys typing Shakespeare thing.  I'm sure a hell of a lot of Pope_.com domain names were registered.
